Greg Tepper made a valid point on Twitter earlier. Because he brought up how playoff season is here but it’s also “4 teams making playoffs is too many” season as well. His answer was Why do those people care so much? How does it impact your life if more kids get to play a meaningful game. Look guys I get it from a competition stand point for almost every #4 vs #1 game. But I get what he is saying. It does give a kid a opportunity to do something special and play in a playoff game. That’s my stance on it

Know why they call Cornell Coach T, he can defend the Slot-T, Wing-T, Power-T, Double Wing-T, Balanced - T, Unbalanced-T, Split-T, Conventional-T, and loves a good T-Bone!!

Who do you mean by "every body?"
32 of the 36 pick 'em contestants (88%) picked WO-S.
Of the 14 who ventured a guess in the prediction thread, 11 picked WO-S.
Tepper, on his weekly video, picked WO-S in this game. I didn't see who Stepp picked.
So before you make bold, and WRONG, statements like you did above, you may want to invest in a little bit of reading.
BTW, does anybody use a freaking period anymore?

#1stangfan got a reaction from Sleepy1 in Vidor 37 Crosby 27/FINAL
That’s exactly what I was thinking. In the WO-S thread “I wouldn’t be surprised if Crosby wins this one and peels off 9 in a row”.
My how quickly things change. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he didn’t say it would be 9 victories peeled off.

The reason it took 6 pages is that there is some doubt about it. Anyone with two brain cells firing in the same direction understands that this SHOULD be a great game. Therefore there is the aforementioned doubt.

There’s no official award. It’s not an official UIL thing, just something a bunch of historians and statisticians follow very closely and a lot of others do too. WO-S has actually had the highest on and off since surpassing Odessa Permian back in 2004. They just hit the arbitrary 500 games played mark this season which is the general standard for when it actually counts. It’s not their fault they didn’t start playing in 1923 like Highland Park but the 500 minimum and percentage is a way to compromise and compare different aged programs fairly.
If you really want an equivalent between the two then compare how long it took each program to get to 406 wins as the vast majority of new programs generally do extremely poorly in their early years with a few exceptions. It took from 1923-1978 for HP to hit win #406 (55+ seasons), 1977-2018 for WO-S (42 seasons.)
I’ll stop beleaguering the point but I am a historian and that’s what I do lol. I realize most people don’t care.

Yes I support WOS, I probably have been to more WOS games then a few people on here. LCM needs a change too but who knows there’s already one position changing we will see if it will make a difference at LCM.

WOS has some talent returning and a lot of kids got some game experience. That will help a lot because Coach Thompson won’t have to do so much mix and match early in the season. With that being said no matter what is returning I can’t doubt Coach T. There have been times where the kids overachieved and he seems to give them every chance to do so.

I have kept up with Deionte since he left WOS. One of the most dynamic athletes I have ever seen on a field.

The QB play and player more specifically are being singled out. Last year the passing game wasn’t elite but WOS made it to the title game. The coaches do a fantastic job of putting the KIDS in what they feel is the best position to win. Their will to win is evident by the WOS alltime record.....and the record speaks for itself. This is a small school....there isn’t always a Kyler Murray or in our case a Jack Dallas, Sterling Cole waiting in the wings.
We all have ideas about who could play better at each position but that is all they are....ideas. WOS has a great head coach and staff. I’m sure many of the kids aren’t in the position they thought they would be in but are doing the best and trying to do what is asked of them. Every player is where the coaches put them and their ability or lack thereof to perform in that position is not their fault. They are trying to do the best with their given assignment.
In short, what I am trying to say is that these are young men (kids)....let’s just keep that in mind.
