at current numbers, 1750 would be right at the cutoff (129 d2, 124 d1) Of course some schools would try to opt up to stay with other schools in the ISD.

You are right about that grad. I was thinking like a reasonable person would about travel. Then I realized we were talking the UIL. They don't have a problem with 150 - 200 mile road trips for district games!

Here is how it is watered down. Districts will only have 5 or 6 in each district. 1 - 9 could get you in the playoffs. That is watering it down.

That is not even close to being correct. Nederland is in the top 3 of teacher salaries in the area. The coaching stipends are pretty comparable.

By the way, he always let his coaches coach and only offered help when needed.

Wow, from what I was told by a reliable source within the district is his lack of proper communication with his peers. He had a very filthy mouth and used foul language all the time when communicating with the kids and his coaches. He talked to his coaches like they were kids and didn't respect their decisions on and off the field. He also has used foul language while communicating with several parents as well. It appears that he has cussed the wrong person and now this is the results !!!! The current JISD administration just feels this isn't healthy, so they have decided to move forward with a new AD/Head Coach. Whether this was the case is yet to be known, but a reliable source within the district provided this information.
Reliable source? Name em. I worked for this man and would gladly do so again. He may use a cuss word mow and then( who doesn't) but every kid we had would have run through a wall for him. As far as disrespectful comments or actions towards parents, i never saw that and would not believe it without seeing it with my own eyes. BIG MISTAKE jasper isd! Welcome back to the .500 club.

I worked with Darrell and never knew him to ever neglect a sport. I'm betting the next AD will come from the Garland area! Any takers?

Same day Super was on radio saying nothing had changed!!!

On KJAS that the board president just called the radio station and said that March 20, is Darrell's last day in his current position.

Just to put numbers to it: Coach Barbay - 2012 - 2016: 43 - 19 never fewer than 12 games in a season.
2007 - 2011 Jasper: 27 - 27 12 games one time, missed playoffs twice.

New superintendent in November from a large district with several high schools, 3 months later you get rid of a successful AD/HD coach? I don't know any details, but something seems off. I did some research and saw the Supe was not hired unanimously.
-
Why is Jasper listed if they pulled the other topic? Is it open or not?

I mean last year, Tom Westerberg left a job in Allen that most people would not think of leaving. Everyone has their reasons.
For a very good pay raise. You have to start thinking about retirement when you reach a certain age. You never know how the system will change.

Probation? Man get TFOHWTBS. Silsbee hasn't been in any type of fights over the last 20 years. People have provoked them. This team has more than enough talent to win state.
I have been out of the area for 4 years now. I grew up in Hardin County, so I know a little bit of its history. I thought this was a misspoken statement, so I checked the almighty Google. If you google Silsbee fight, you get three almost immediately (first two pages). The three different schools that they have had problems with, only show up once. (unless of course you count the lcm/png mascot fight). I don't know any of the situations, just that there is a common denominator.

I guess it is back to sitting on the floor in the visitor's locker rooms!

Dont block the door! Why are her rights more important than mine. Just like if I'm the first person in traffic when some people on foot try to block the road, God help em.
