Oh the fickle fan!  Last year Toby was greatest, now he is bad.  Toby is a good coach, period.

I WOULD! SIGN ME UP!  I have been doing it for 24 years at a lot lower salary than that.  Just a little try at levity to loosen me up on game day!!

Just giving you a hard time! I am much better about NOT correcting grammar on here than I used to be.  But hey, after 24 years of teaching English, sometimes it just gets the better of me. Heck, I posted on here for two years in all caps and didn't know why people kept accusing me of yelling!

Look at the stats: they only threw 15 passes! They only scored four times in second half. Last td pass at 1050 left in third quarter.

I have had many calls go against me, but I have never considered touching an official! This should be treated as criminal assault and these boys should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

the coach never mentioned a racial slur when it was first reported. He said that ref needs to pay for cheating us. (According to news accounts) 

Remember that you do not have to say you moved for academics, just that you did not move for athletics.

If he checked in to Kountze, he must sit 15 days and get it approved by DC.

Let's quit with all the things that the coaches could/should/would do.  If HJ is down this year, it will be mainly due to how large and good last year's senior class was.  Everyone in that area knew how good that group of kids would be and they proved it. Coach D did a heck of a job with them, but he decided to go home. So wish them luck and move on to this season

Headline #2: Cop kills unarmed white teenager.  No mention in the title that he was trying to run over the policemen with a car when shot.

Percentage of "quality" coaches stays consistent throughout the classifications.  As for volleyball, the Woodlands did the same thing in the highest classification two years ago when they only lost 2 or 3 sets all year.

I am still coaching. 24th year. I am at Alief Hastings as defensive coordinator and assistant baseball.

By the way, Grayland's dad was a pretty good football player too.  We played together way back.

I was told that he resigned and that he had already been hired.  The VAST majority of school districts will let you out of your contract anytime.  They do not want someone who has asked to leave.  I have seen this in 1A through 6A in my 23 years of teaching/coaching.  I do not know the particulars in this situation, but I am from Kountze and still hear talk from friends still there.

Who is the new coach that you are talking about? I was told earlier this week that Coach Haynes jumped ship and went to Westbrook.  Any truth to this?

No big deal. No punishment for illegal uni.  It is just noted in the game report.

No education experience or credentials. Not certified at all.  That is really going out on a limb. His dad was a great coach at VV a long time ago. Interesting to see how this works out. 4 board members served with him earlier when he was president.
