Y'all are missing the point. The U.S. already has unfettered authority to do whatever they want on Greenland with a tacit 'check-in' to the local representative and Denmark. I've previously posted the agreements and links to the others. So, there's nothing to really be gained on the defensive front. As far as the minerals/resources, to my knowledge there's no technology available that would make these safely accessible in any near term future. I don't know how many fools there are that would be willing to invest billions in a smallish, unstable icesheet with an island that's less than 1/4 of the size of the contiguous U.S. Not to mention, the power requirements that would be needed to even contemplate much development. At the height of it's population, Greenland has had a little under 60,000 people. Most are indigenous, and don't want to be a part of Denmark or the U.S. They want independence, and to live in their own 'tribalish' way. They speak their own language, lack any in-depth technical knowledge, and seem to have no desire to change. They survive on ancestral fishing techniques, and massive subsidies from Denmark. Without Denmark's subsidies, they wouldn't survive. The Dem's would be happy. They'd have 3 places they could add Senators after adding statehood. Greenland, Puerto Rico, and D.C. All 3 would be basically guaranteed liberal strongholds. Greenland is socialist already. For all the kudos about cutting budgets with DOGE, why the heck would you want to take on a 'forever' welfare territory that really offers nothing you don't already have? If you must, create formal, indefinite land leases with air & sea rights similar to Gitmo. Make them survivable regardless of whether Denmark remains in charge, or Greenland goes independent. When you have a bigger footprint, possibly bring some development, and show the population what CAN be, maybe they will be more perceptive to a merger. If China or Russia come calling, make sure the arrangement has a ‘right of first refusal’, or a block on non-NATO ownership/leases. Until then, you have all the access necessary without the cost. Use it. Greenland isn’t Venezuela. Far from it. Unless it's all about ego...

I think the marquis game of the marquis games for this Friday deserves it's own prediction/hype thread. #3 state ranked (#1 AAW) Beaumont United at #10 state ranked (#3 AAW) Beaumont West Brook. Friday will bring district play to the halfway mark and the winner of this game will take over sole possession of 1st place. This will be the second meeting between these two teams. United beat West Brook earlier this season in the YMBL finals, 59-52. West Brook was short a main player for that game but is now fully healthy. I’m all for national defense. Part of that equation is the national debt. Regardless of where it came from, debt is debt. As Trump wants the defense budget ramped up to $1.5 Trillion, we go further and deeper. It WILL be a cudgel. There are already rumblings from what I’ve read about debt buying caution from foreign institutions. There are multiple better ways to handle the Greenland situation without buying it. Hopefully, they’ve settled on one of these autonomous lease zones and other rights for defense type arrangements. Let Denmark keep paying the welfare.

Sure seems that way. I can understand trying to work a deal to somehow beef up security on a very strategic location, but I don’t understand the need for the bull in the china shop approach. But it is, after all, Trump, and it’s been successful in the past.

I attempted to listen to his speech in Switzerland and it was a total embarrassment. He rumbled on about how the 2020 election was stolen and that many people are going to be prosecuted for it. He also suggested taken Greenland by force. You all may not want to admit it but Trump suffering from dementia and he is declining fast. He sleeps doing important meetings. Trump is not running the country, Stephen Miller is the brains behind the operation. LT. I laughed also.

I’ll try my best…. Yes. Probably not. It’s a tough situation and I believe Hippy approaches it best. Most libs would sacrifice their own mother to get the goods on Trump and that hasn’t happened, so they got zilch. Clinton’s escapades and tax fraud were already on display during his stint as Governor of Arkansas. He’s always been mentioned as an Epstein customer.

I'd like to jump in and give my honest answer. The Biden DOJ had 4 years to expose or go after anyone in the documents (there are no "files", just a bunch of documents from different departments for over TWO DECADES) - so, for 2 decades this has been going on and no one has been charged...The Victims made civil deals with the Epstein estate, they say they have a list but won't release it....and btw, exposing a crime does not break a NDA......it's protected. So, they could release, but they have not.... So you can believe there is not enough evidence to bring up charges against anyone other than who has been charged....OR, you can believe it is a massive coverup and through 4 administrations, with approx. 10,000 attorneys in each administration through out the years covered it up or looked the other way..... When/if we get the redacted files, we won't have enough information to decide if anyone is guilty..... I say after 2 decades,,,,,it won't matter.
