    BH Vs New Caney

BH is one of the most intriguing teams in the area this year. New coach, new QB, new everything. On paper, they look like they should be pretty salty, but it will all come down to how it gels. Barrier is now in the white-hot spotlight with the pressure of being the starting QB at BH and the step up in competition for the McNeese commit. All of that also comes with the looming pressure that will inevitably be created by the community wanting them to be firing on all cylinders prior to their matchup with Abseck and the Lufkin Panthers at home in October. I am incredibly excited to watch it unfold and see what The Hill has loaded up for this season.

Not surprised…… AI Overview +11 HuffPost is considered a legitimate news source, but its credibility is often debated due to its strong left-leaning bias, sensationalist headlines, and a history of blending original reporting with aggregated content and opinion blogs . Its ownership by BuzzFeed since 2020 has also been a factor in discussions about its direction. Reputation factors Claim to legitimacy Pulitzer Prize: In 2012, The Huffington Post (as it was then known) won a Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting, an achievement that solidified its standing as a serious journalistic enterprise. Journalistic standards: The company states that it is committed to accuracy, transparency, and thorough sourcing. Its policy includes issuing corrections for errors and retracting articles only after extensive review. Factors influencing credibility Political bias: Media bias watchdog AllSides rates HuffPost as "Left," noting a tendency toward sensationalism and using critical framing when covering Republicans or conservative issues. A 2023 AllSides independent review found evidence of slant, spin, emotionalism, and omission of opposing viewpoints. Fact-checking record: Media Bias Fact Check, an independent fact-checking group, has rated HuffPost as having "Mixed" factual reporting, citing some failed fact checks and promotion of pseudoscience. Aggregation and opinion: From its founding, HuffPost has mixed original reporting with syndicated content and opinion pieces from unpaid bloggers, which some argue lowers its overall journalistic quality. Critics have argued that this model contributed to the decline of professional journalism. Sensationalism: HuffPost has been frequently criticized for using clickbait headlines that over-promise or sensationalize stories to drive traffic. Reader trust According to a 2025 Pew Research Center poll, HuffPost commands low public trust. Only 8% of Americans say they trust it, while 18% say they distrust it. Among political groups, trust is heavily polarized. An August 2025 AllSides report found that only 2% of Republicans or Republican-leaning voters trust HuffPost, compared to 13% of Democrats or Democratic-leaning voters. Conclusion While HuffPost engages in professional journalism and has received a prestigious award for its reporting, its legitimacy is tempered by its clear progressive bias, documented issues with fact-checking, and the blurring of lines between journalism, aggregation, and opinion. To assess an individual HuffPost article, it is best to consider the author, read beyond the headline, and cross-reference the information with other sources.

  7. Crosby DB’s are suspect (IMHO). DL got some dogs. LB core got some dogs but small for 5AD1 IMHO. If the Lee scrimmage is any indication the offense should be really good and not one dimensional like last year. Decent WR’s. Definitely missing West but the RB committee looks serviceable. OL gave the QB time in the pocket and the kid can sling it. If Dayton offense can match it may be a track meet. I can’t see them shutting down the Crosby offense. I’m taking Crosby by 15. If Dayton beats CHS this year I look for them to make some noise deep. Good luck to coach P and the Broncos. (IMHO)

  9. Could not agree with you more. I just don't like when folks start pointing the finger at the things that really don't matter just to fit their narrative. I think this guy was screwy not just because he was trans. But some want to just point that out. I do agree that anyone changing their sex has screws loose. But becoming trans does not make one shoot children. There are obvious other issues there. I just think it's two faced for folks to be offended when someone points out the fact that majority of mass shooters are white males but then want to point out that this guy is trans. That's my point. Like you said, none of that really matters.

  12. Let's get one thing straight. Trans or not, anyone is whacked for shooting kids. This shouldn't be about if the guy is trans. Doesn't matter. Pointing out trans violence is no different than certain people pointing out the fact that the vast majority of mass shootings in this country are from white males. None of that matters.

  13. I think so. One of the cool things I haven’t seen elsewhere at high school stadiums is—between the seating levels—on the concourse on both sides are large ribbon video boards that they programmed in things like ‘big hit!’, growling, and stuff like that with flashing colors & sounds, etc. like you’d see at a professional stadium. As it was getting darker, even with the stadium lights on, the graphics & sound lit up the stadium. I can see it really getting the crowd pumped up. It’s going to be something else again tomorrow night. I asked the Superintendent (Dr. Jackson) to make sure they would announce crowd size when he had to let us out to the elevator. They’ve sold everything they could & still had people wanting more seats. He did say they were going to have some type of temporary block to keep the fan bases apart in the stands for this specific game—if that gives people a clue on if this is a friendly rivalry or not.

  18. Okay…Bulldog Stadium is AWESOME! For the Border Battle, the bands & drill teams will sit on the track area. Every single seat has been sold—not counting Press (4 local TV stations & other football sites/publications). A lot bigger than it appears online, the sound system is LOUD, and the video screen is very large & crystal clear. The video board outside on the south side of the stadium already is showing info about the rivalry. Doesn’t look like the ribbon scoreboard around the horseshoe is totally finished yet. But, I was told it will be ready for Friday night. Was worried about the heat with the horseshoe closed in. But, there’s a very nice bay breeze coming in. Only issue I see is parking is a little lacking & spread out. They’re going to have shuttles for the Border Battle between parking lots for the disabled. Wish I could post a movie. But, it wouldn’t do it justice. Go Dawgs!

you are reading it wrong and if you have kids of that age , it might be easier to understand. If you had a child and was moving to a district during the summer and your kid wanted to play football, he should be allowed to play. My case is slightly different as i have a daughter and tryouts was held before the school year was out. YES! i feel if she makes the team, she should have till a certain date, call it May 31st to enroll to the school. Anyone with common sense shouldn't pull their kid from school with a month or two left to be eligible to participate in extra curricular like cheerleading or dance. I feel certain rules should apply for certain activities. If the kid thats the topic of this situation, say wanted to go to Memorial. He could easily join the band and nobody will say squat. But he couldn't play football?? that's why the rules need to be for ALL extracurricular. Football like it or not, generate money for local businesses and school districts. that same kid comes to PAM and lets pretend he's the #1 rb in the country, PAISD about to blow up cause now you have the likes of ESPN looking at your city and all D1 coaches. all that turns into dollars one way or another.

  22. You're correct. That's where the marker is located as an approximate spot. South of the old Simpson Paper Mill. Deer Park is where the surrender treaty was drafted. Then, Santa Anna was brought back to San Jacinto Battlefield to sign according to the Daughters of the Republic. The marker is at the battlefield site by the Channel. Deer Park likes to take credit for a lot of things. So, we let them have some just to make them feel better about themselves. 😜 They paid a lot of money for that big sign that says they're the Birthplace of Texas. Wouldn't want it to go to waste.

  23. XL TACO. So much for being hard on immigration. Who needs a wall when you have open skies. Trump made a big issue about china and about COVID. What a joke. How do you go from warning to putting 200% tariffs on China to opening our borders to allow there kids to attend our colleges while at the same time removing other nations from our colleges. How does the Make America Great? I believe this con man is running on fumes and is looking for an exit ramp. Either way midterms have already been decided. His MAGA cult are getting fed up with his antics. Marjorie is pulling her hair out.

  25. Will be watching The Border Battle (La Porte vs Deer Park) on LPSportsnet. No way I can handle Mama Dawg in her transport chair & possible restroom needs in the overflow game crowd. We do intend to go to the Pep Rally at the stadium tomorrow night when it’s not quite as crowded.

Vidor offense is just so... meh.... The passing plays are all play action and their receivers are not receivers but instead just the guys that run the plays into the huddle . Wouldnt worry about the pass too much, worry about the other 3 plays

  30. How many people have to say Trump wasn’t involved before the libs believe it? Epstein himself could have said Trump wasn’t involved and the libs would say he was threatened, bribed, he was lying,……whatever. It seems to me that the libs are protecting those who have been mentioned, other than Trump. Hollywood is full of perverts, ask Cory Feldman and others. Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein knew each other and ran in the same circles, yet none of you libs ever mention these connections. It tells me you are not after justice or after putting an end to child trafficking……just get Trump. That is so juvenile that it’s pathetic. Lots of powerful, wealthy people in Hollywood who have lots of connections to politicians, businessmen, and even world leaders. Do you want to stop the trafficking or just “GET TRUMP”. I say look at the money trail to Epstein, which we know exists, because he was funded well and he was also blackmailing. These are the true culprits……the money people.

  33. I thought the defense played well. The 1’s allowed one TD in each portion of the scrimmage. The 2’s allowed a couple but I would expect a 6A school to have more depth than us. I think Nederland is going to be pretty solid again this year. They will improve each week as we did before. Not sure what Lumberton has but I believe they were pretty young last year. I’m not expecting to blow them out as bad this year, but Nederland should win comfortably. I hope both teams learn a lot from this game that they can use to build upon.
