I think a point is being missed here by a couple of folks. How I read the comments here from some of the WO-S fans, they are simply down playing the win over Jasper. I don't think any of them would argue that they would have lost to CH and Carthage. They beat a Jasper team that came in with a 2-3 record. They see it as nothing to be bragging about. Personally, I disagree. Coming back in the 2nd half like they did against a formidable opponent like Jasper, in Jasper, is quite impressive in my book. Just my humble opinion.

I think the last time we played a Beaumont team was Central in the 1st round of a 4A maybe 5A playoffs. BH was undefeated that year being the 1st year in that division and Central won by 3 I believe. He's good, very good. MLB RB Tyvann Byars is also good. You see a good RB in practice every day. Thomas can do everything Byars can do. You will be ready. MLC will make some plays. That's OK. Morcos and Byars are good players. Control what you can, compete, and did I say, RUN THE BALL. Nederland has a good shot to get the W.

Greetings everyone! I'm a little late in posting this but it's that time of year again and the return of the annual UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest! The contest will be held Saturday October 19, 2024 at Port Neches-Groves HS Stadium. The schedule shows 29 bands competing to earn that coveted Division 1 rating and the chance to move on to state competition. Admission is $5 to get in. As of right now, I plan to attend and record all the bands. If y'all want, come say hi to me as I battle the weather elements and try to get the best video/audio recordings of our local high school bands. Once I get back home, I will start to edit the video and audio, then post onto my YouTube. Weather forecast looks to be a pleasant day with highs reaching the low 80s with a bit of a breeze throughout. I still have to apply the sunscreen as it will be mostly sunny. A reminder that ALL classifications will have the opportunity to advance past region to area/state competition. Keep in mind that we have separate open class (contemporary-style) and military class tracks for state marching band contest. Some of my thoughts: - One school missing from last year (2023) includes Warren. - Port Arthur Memorial returns to contest after a 2-year absence (2021). - Lamar University will be performing twice for exhibition as they did last year. - Beaumont United and West Brook High Schools dropped down to 5A after the last UIL realignment, meaning there are no 6A schools. - Currently we have 3-2A, 8-3A, 12-4A, 6-5A bands participating. Best wishes to all participating bands as they finish learning their music/drill and polishing up their shows in the next week.

I agree. When watching them play Crosby, I am almost certain that most 5A Freshman teams could beat them also. It is just sad watching them play, but I do give props to those kids for taking the field every week.

Yes we seem to be a decent to good o-line. Against FWood and KPark we played with a much higher level of physicality than those teams wanted to play. The oline is probably bigger but slightly less talented than some of the lines you're are familiar with playing.

Maxpreps is wrong, for the millionth time

As a first year member and newbie to this site, I have to say how much I have enjoyed following along this season. The picks ems has been especially fun and has renewed an interest in high school football again. I remember a recent post on here (not real sure how to hilight and add to this post) where they pointed out the last time a member had picked all 25 games correctly for the week. With my limited knowledge of the game and especially the various schools, anybody else feeling that this week somebody might get all 25 right? Pretty sure it won’t be me, but the chances seem higher this week than they have so far this season

I agree. I thought it was a great come back win and even text Silver&Blue fans telling them they should be proud of those young men. to make it clear as far as any comments I did or didn't say or what they did o didn't mean. our schedule to this point in the season doesn't make us tough team but at the same time we are better than what 2-4 looks like

I think she's going to burn him down in the popular vote. The swing states are going to tell the tale. It's bananas that Trump, instead of trying to just be chill and convince the middle that a Trump vote isn't risky, is actually going hard in the paint to motivate Trump voters to show up and vote. I think that Trump's team believes they need better participation from their voters as opposed to attracting new ones. We'll just have to see how it works out. Lamar Senior pitcher Brooks Caple named 3rd team All-American by Baseball America. Second year in a row for Lamar to have an All-American. He was also named to the All-Academic team along with Kanin Dodge, Jack Schell, Hunter Hesseltine, River Orsak, and Jacob Ellis. Congratulations to all these young men.
