  1. This is all smoke and mirrors. They are still trying to screw everyone with this big beautiful con bill they are attempting to pass in the Senate by July 4, 2025. The switch and bait. We are talking about targets that no one nose the impact but Iran. If we were struck lord forbid we would not let anyone know our vulnerabilities. The war we face now is the🤡 wants to raise the debt ceiling even after claiming he is pulling the plug out of his own bath water to drain the swamp. Talk about wasteful spending funded by us. Golf events weekly, a 79 yo birthday parade for an orange baby a plane retrofitted by tax payers and let’s not forget our veterans who are now sitting at home because they were apart of wasteful spending. The plan will hurt rural hospitals, Medicaid and most importantly the elderly. He is a master of the craft conning everyone around him. The great switch and bait. Pay close attention to the Senate. They are salivating to lick his boots. Why not address the medical needs of those who are sick now but don’t qualify for the medical treatment they need. What happened to replacing Obama Care with something better?
  2. I think we’re at 15 now. We could stand for a few of them to be recognized days, but not Holidays. There’s also been talk about businesses rotating the Holidays… these four this year, those four next year, etc. I don’t think Trump spoke out of turn- I think he was whistling at a group of his supporters who aren’t happy that the last two federal holidays were gifts to the African American Community. But he’s not alone- I had a black co-worker make the argument only black people should have Juneteenth off, lol. Fanning the fires of racism never goes out of style, I guess.
  3. We’ve had the spring game, so there’s at least something to talk about. What do ya’ll think? I saw some positive signs. Looks like we’ve got something to work with, and plenty to work on. I think the defense will be better this year. No idea on the offense, though it’s hard not to observe that our o-line will miss Jackson Christian. Any word on whether we’ll participate in 7-on-7 this year?
  4. OK, help us out here -- can 2 against one be considered a World War? And has any of Iran's so-called allies come to their defense? The majority of the Arab states don't want Iran to go nuclear. As a matter of fact, although they won't publicly admit it, they do not like the mullahs and would like to see them gone. So, again, how is a world war gonna happen? Trump has a history of not wanting to get involved. But, when you are not looking for a fight -- a fight comes looking for you. This is the situation right now. The world NEEDS a nuclear free Iran. One, or two (?), nuclear enrichment plants are 300 feet under ground. Israel can't get that deep. They could damage but not destroy. So, this is where Trump comes in. B-52's with bunker busting bombs. This is the only way. Remember, Trump gave Iran 60 days to stop their nuclear program. They stalled. And on day 61 Israel unleashed hell on them. They had the opportunity to do the right thing. This is not the way evil works! Think about history. If the world knew what Hitler was up to, you know, the extermination camps, do you the right thing to do is take him and Nazi Germany out? Of course it's the right thing to do. But, The PM of England, Neville Chamberlain, playing the roll of Obama and Biden as they did with Iran, by thinking he could talk to Hitler and appease him. Led to millions and millions of people killed. Appeasement does not stop world wars -- appeasement causes world wars. PS -- you do realize Nazism and radical muslim have the same thing in common? History trying to repeat itself?!
  5. I have a feeling this caught Trump by surprise. He was trying to strike a deal and they do this 3 day before talk. I will say pin pointing 6 nuclear scientist and 2 military leaders is definitely stepped up military action. If the video I seen was of one of the attacks. the hit what appeared to be a single apartment on a several story building.....precision
  6. But, but, but…. This doesn’t deserve a response. Talk to Pelosi.
  7. I’m not the one who continues to say but but Biden. Talk about living rent free. The Orange man can’t get passed 2020 election. like a 5year old mad because he can’t play with the big kids.
  8. Oh, I don’t know. Once they break into the Capitol, kill a few cops and destroy government property and deface the nation’s seat of power, we’ll talk. Four in LA have been charged with felony destruction of government property and assault of law enforcement officers. This is what authoritarianism looks like. Pardon your supporters and throw the book at your opponents for the same crimes. Sickening.
  9. OlDawg

    Uh Oh!

Problem is, if you're an independent in Texas, you don't really have a say in the primaries. If you pick Demorat or Repugnican, you're stuck with the choice for 2 years. I've voted for Perot, Paul, and even Johnson. Ron Paul was the best of the three IMHO. Media portrayed him as 'batty.' Far from it. Used to talk with him all flight long from Cleveland back to Houston. I was leading a project for Lubrizol in Wycliffe, OH and he practiced what he preached and always took the cheapest flights--which happened to be the red eye from DC to Cleveland, then to Houston. We got to the point we sat by each other for the discussion. One of the smartest--most genuine--men I've ever met. We didn't agree on everything. No one ever does. But, he stood by his convictions. His son is somewhat similar.
  10. Reagan

    Uh Oh!

He knew this was going to happen a long time ago. So, why get upset about it now. Unless, like I said before -- it's just a game to give people and the media something silly to talk about!
  11. Opposite of last night lose 3-0. Not much to talk about except Gusto just didn't have it. We left too many on base.
  12. 2 out of the last 3 elections, Democratic primary voters have voted for someone else to run for POTUS, and the Democratic Party elites have said “screw the voters.” No incumbents next election. Maybe people will realize what a sham it all is and look for something different. I wonder how many people even realize neither the Democratic nor Republican Party mention personal liberty as a priority any more. The entire reason for founding this country, and neither ‘major party’ emphasizes it any more. Talk about having the public brainwashed…
  13. She wasn’t responding to me, so why would I call her out? There are more effective ways to make a point than playing whatabout. That’s playground talk, but its not easy to refrain from.
  14. I give a box of rocks more credit than you. You are going to try and convince me that a federal judge can file an injunction that covers the entire country? That is for the Supreme Court. A single judge’s mandate is more powerful than the president? Talk about dictatorial. You are truly ate up with it. I do like your new moniker for Trump….Weasel….he is cunning and much smarter than you give him credit. Your hatred show in your every post. You trip over it.
  15. I played sports in high school and college then I coached for 15 years. I ve been part of many strength and conditioning programs…I used common sense all those years and still do. dont know the guy. don’t have any feeling either way on him, but come on we all know what it feels like when human flesh touches something hot….like running across concrete or asphalt barefooted. We have all learned that at a young age. no not super critical just using common sense. it is what it is….he made a poor decision due to not using common sense. U can make it out to what u want. I’m not here to talk about the guys character or anything or talk bad about him.
  16. That raises an interesting point. We must remember that opposition or favor of any government program depends on whose ox is being gored. I like Social Security and Medicare. I can see where a 30 year old might not. Start talking about reducing or eliminating those benefits and my ox is being gored. Talk about a bloated defense budget and Boeing’s et. al. oxes are being gored. Government is big, bloated, and unnecessary - until it isn’t.
  17. Talk about a pot calling the kettle black. Look at your post, man. You dismissed the 14 year old bed bound because of child labor laws, not his disability. Follow your cheap shot logically, and a 30 disabled person not bound by child labor laws should work. Build a better argument if you don’t like getting called out.
  18. this is from the news article: "It's a complete disregard for common sense," McCulley tells KFDM. "12 to 14 parents have raised complaints. These are burns. We'll try to determine the average temperature of the track. We're gathering facts, medical information, taking statements. We understand one coach objected to what was happening. We'd like to talk with both coaches. The information is coming in fast. We expect to meet with District Attorney Lucas Babin as early as Wednesday. He would decide whether to take it to a grand jury for possible criminal charges."
  19. California is a liberal state for sure, and all the liberals scream about democracy. Yet, when it really comes down to it, they have a one party system. This is worse than what they did to Biden. Talk about “freedom of choice”. California's "top-two" primary system allows for the possibility of two Democrats (or two candidates from any single party) running against each other in the general election for Governor . Here's how it works: Open Primary: California uses a top-two primary system, meaning all candidates, regardless of party affiliation, appear on the same primary ballot. Top Two Advance: The two candidates who receive the most votes in the primary election advance to the general election. Same-Party Matchup: Because the top two vote-getters advance regardless of party, it's entirely possible for two Democrats, two Republicans, or two candidates from any other single party to be the top two and face each other in the general election. In essence, the party affiliation of a candidate doesn't determine who advances to the general election; it's simply based on who receives the most votes in the primary. This system differs from traditional partisan primaries where each party chooses its own
  20. Louisiana has had a jungle primary forever also. 2026 they’ll start having closed primaries where you have to register as Dem or Rep to vote like almost everyone else. No independents in the primaries. So, the biggest voting block has to choose between 2 crappy contestants from the far edges of their respective Parties. Wow. Talk about a stupid concept. And people wonder why we keep getting further and further apart with wild swings. A minority of super ideological people selecting who the majority can pick from… Not a fan of political Parties. We were warned.
  21. Not just Party specific. A number to consider that some don’t like to talk about: 59% of families/households headed by illegal immigrants use at least 1 major form of public assistance per 2024 CIS data which equates to over $42 Billion/year. According to the data, legalization only increases the issue because of the low education level. In contrast, 39% of legal/citizen households use public assistance. Wait! I thought public assistance wasn’t being provided to illegal immigrants. WRONG! The child being a citizen receives SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, & housing assistance. Many other programs have no limits on who can receive. Thus, it goes to the family unit. Conclusion Illegal immigrants are a significant net fiscal drain -- paying less in taxes than they use in public services. The primary reason they create more in costs than they pay in taxes is their relative low levels of education. Based on prior research, 69 percent of adult illegal immigrants have no education beyond high school, compared to 35 percent of the U.S.-born. As a result, they tend to earn modest wages and make modest tax contributions even when income and payroll taxes are taken out of their pay. This fact, coupled with the relatively heavy demands they make on public coffers -- especially for education, health care, and means-tested programs -- is the reason they are a net fiscal drain. We estimate that 59 percent of illegal immigrant households use one or more major welfare programs, costing roughly $42 billion a year. At the local level, the largest single cost is for public education. We estimate the cost of educating the children of illegal immigrants, most of whom are U.S.-born, totals $69 billion per year. While illegal immigrants often receive other services for their U.S.-born children, even when we estimate the net fiscal impact of just the illegal immigrants themselves, excluding their U.S.-born children, we still find they create a lifetime net fiscal drain of $68,000 on average (taxes paid minus benefits received). Even though illegal immigrants are net fiscal drains, they do pay a significant amount in taxes. We estimate illegal immigrants pay $25.9 billion a year to the federal government. Unfortunately, their tax contributions do not cover their consumption of public services. The net fiscal drain is not the result of illegal immigrants being unwilling to work. In fact, we find that illegal immigrant households are significantly more likely to have at least one worker than households headed by the U.S.-born, and there is little evidence that immigrants come specifically to get welfare. Legal immigrants and U.S.-born Americans who have relatively few years of school are also a net fiscal drain on average because they too tend to earn modest wages, make modest tax contributions, and use social services extensively. None of this should be seen as a moral failing on the part of low-income people. Nonetheless, it is the reason why communities across the country worry so much about losing their middle-class tax base, as it is primarily middle- and upper-income people who keep public coffers full. The fiscal situation today is very different from the situation more than 100 years ago during the last great wave of immigrants, when federal, state and local government was a much smaller share of GDP. Also, at that time industrial jobs for the less educated were plentiful and paid, by the standards of the day, relatively high wages. But none this is the case today. We need an immigration policy that reflects current realities, and we need to rigorously enforce it. Otherwise, the fiscal costs will be significant, as many communities across the country are currently finding out. [Hidden Content]
  22. Great question. I think at all points in time the US has been great, with some obvious missteps and problems along the way. Those have been addressed, such as the ending of slavery, civil rights Act of 1964, etc… America of today isn’t exceptional, other than the greed and laziness of its citizens. We’re all entitled to everything, but feel no obligation to contribute anything. We’ve borrowed ourselves into a no-win situation and I’m of the opinion that we’re going to topple eventually. We can blame political parties, but at the end of the day it’s the public who’s to blame. One of the things that MAGA taps into is a longing for the love of country. There are still a lot of people who feel patriotic and love their country. They would like to see America once again be a land of promise, but don’t have the sophistication to see that the current admin is doing nothing about it, other than branding the emotion for political purposes. Cutting taxes won’t work. Raising taxes won’t work, either. The only solution is to cut spending, and that’s something that the politicians that we keep electing will not even talk about because they know that the voting public won’t allow it…. On any issue. What are we doing today that makes us great? All we can do is point at our history and say “look back at what we were.”
  23. Idk if you saw it but sometime last month they got together at the school and they put this on Facebook live to talk about the estate of the school financially and they was going on and on about the athletic budget and these guys were on there talking about implementing turf on the field in the next few seasons. If they're talking about do that how in the world are we going to pay for that if the budget is compromised?
  24. Please sir, name me a true leader that does that. On the federal level. I agree with your premise, but that doesn't happen on either side of the aisle. Hence my disdain for most politicians. And if you're gonna bitch about it when "our" guy does it, you got a bitch about it when "your" guy does it too... Didn't hear much of this talk from '21 to '24.
