My understanding is that the vent is a treatment of last resort... they put the patient on a vent when they will literally die in minutes because of lost lung function.  I mean, they could forgo the vent and just let them croak and that would help your 75% stat, but I doubt that the families of the 25% who do survive would appreciate that.
That's a remarkable change from earlier in the pandemic when they thought vents were the answer.  We're in much better shape now than we were in the summer of 2020 in regards to treatment.  If we were still doing things the "old way" this summer the Delta variant would have many more victims.

Despite repeated claims to "not raise taxes on American families earning less than $600/year,"  They're trying to find unreported income from people who make ANY amount of money.  Everybody's gonna have have to pony up their "fair share" in our new Socialist Utopia.

Same....  like how does a 71 year old retired Pentecostal Lady end up feeling that Trump was sent here by God to save us from the Left?  He's one of the most immoral presidents that we've ever had.  So much love for Melania by the ultraconservatives.... you know, the ones who say Michelle Obama is really a man.  Did you think we'd ever have a First Lady whose nudes are readily available on the internet?  I sure didn't.... and I NEVER would have believed that her and her husband would be the darlings of the ultraconservatives!  WTH?   Bizarro World, I tell you.

I still don’t understand how a NYC-born, trust fund kid, Hollywood elite tv show liberal, absolutely tricked all these Deep South rednecks into voting for him, worshipping him, and even donating their money to him.

    Makes me laugh every time.

Honestly? No.... to most people he's a cartoon character come to life, but somehow idolized by people who you'd expect to despise him.  I know a handful of Pentecostal people who whole-heartedly support Trump.  Despite the 8 abortions he paid for, confessed sexual assaults, foul language, infidelities, "Corinthians Two," etc..... I used to wonder how Hitler rose to power.  Blind loyalty.... that's the answer, and there are a lot of people walking around with undying loyalty to Trump.  Heck, a few thousand of them ransacked the Capitol back in January.

In 2016, Hillary’s democratic voters didnt turn out and Trump’s supporters did. Trump’s supporters (and more) turned out in 2020, too, but he mobilized millions of other people to go vote for Biden. Die hard trump supporters overlook his buffoonery…. Moderates, undecideds, and lefties all went out and voted to get rid of Trump.

And he only has himself to blame.

The last number that I read claimed that almost 60% of Americans paid no income tax in 2020, partly because of gifts from the Treasury because of Covid.  It's hard to exist when the people who don't pay taxes actually set the spending/taxes.  It's like loading the family up to go out and eat, and the kids picking what we're gonna eat because there are three kids in the back seat and they keep out-voting mom and dad up front.

Higher education has become a bad joke....  It's too expensive, and the value of a degree has diminished as more people get them.  I can't imagine trying to start out with $100k in student loan debt.  When I was going to college in the early 90s, a kid could scrape up $1500 to pay for a semester of school during the summer if he was willing to work a little.  There's no way that a kid can scratch up $5k over the course of a summer to pay for that same semester of school.

No, the fact that Trump did such a good job of alienating people that he lost the House, Senate, eventually the presidency to the worst presidential ticket, ever... Biden/Harris.
As a politician you have two jobs... to make it easy to vote for you and hard to vote for the other guy.  Trump failed miserably at this.  You're right.. Joe Biden could never get 83 million people to vote for him... but Trump actually DID get 83 million people to vote for Biden.
And that's beyond most Trump Supporters' ability to comprehend. Even though you get wet when Trump says dumb stuff, most decent people aren't willing to let his buffoonery slide.

Say what you want about Trump.....He did pretty good considering how the media and lots of politicians went after him.  I can't think of anyone in my lifetime that had the popularity of this man and got people actively involved in politics......
What should concern everyone is that the government is letting private companies silence his voice. While some of you may applaud that, what are you going to do when it's "your guy" ?

If Trump runs, the Democratic nominee will win.  He's too good at making people vote against him. The other thing is that if Trump goes down in the primaries, the Trumpers will stay home guaranteeing a Democrat win in the General Election.

Quote me if you want.  When Trump announces he's running, you can go ahead and call the race for the Democrats.

I hate to go against the lynch mob, but you kinda have to admit that the most recent interaction with the law that these two had, SHE was the aggressor.  You can blame mental illness, homesickness, astrology, or whatever you want... but if you kick a dog enough times, he's going to bite you.

I just think that it's comical how everybody is carrying on and comparing this situation to their own past dealing with an abusive boyfriend, especially since the only evidence we've seen so far indicates that SHE was the violent one.  How do we know that this isn't the Burning Bad in reverse?  All signs point to it.

I think it is an analogy. I don’t know but I believe that Blacks get abortions far greater than their population.  I believe they are 12% of the population but probably receive 40-50% of all abortions.
I think his reference is, you have a group of people that are advocating for the right to kill your own people You have a group of people that are advocating for the right to kill their own people at probably 400% more than your population.
I think the analogy is, the unvaccinated are fighting like crazy for the right to remain unvaccinated and be more likely to die.
At least that’s the way it appears to me.

I'm not entirely sure how many were out Friday night. I do not think anyone missing was covid related. QB1 was out (hopefully back after bye), we lost a starting LB in scrimmage (out for season). Lost starting TE in Tarkington game (not sure if for the year yet). Starting LT out for season. Another OL starter hasn't played yet this year hopefully will be ready after the bye. Missed another starting LB Friday night, hopefully ready after the bye. Couple of other guys out, not starters, but depth is a major issue at the moment. None of that matters, every team has injuries. Adapt and overcome...
As far as the old baseball routine, Fielder, King, Abate, Bearden, Collins all played Varsity baseball last year and are all on the football team Hallman would be on the list also, but is out for the  year. We have several others on the football team who played JV baseball. I know its a popular talking point on this site, but believe it or not, kids do play both sports here in BC. Baseball coaches also coach football.
BC changes coaches about every 4 years on average, hard to build consistency starting at the lower levels when most of those kids see coaching changes between 7th and 12th grade. Like I've said before, the kids love these coaches. It takes time.
