Huntsville (29) @ Port Neches-Groves (39) - FINAL

What’s Whitesnake? -
Will be extremely tough for WV's O-Line to protect Babin in the pocket against Newton's front, edge rushers, and LBs in my opinion. Highly doubt that WV's D will be able to withstand Newton's running game and their occasional play action passes. It shouldn't get ugly but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if this game gets out of hand in favor of the purple eagles!

East Chambers, 2011 i think?

I’m taking Hardin -18 if anyone is interested.

Well, it might have been the 0-4 Jets, but Dallas did their job. I take no one lightly. Can’t wait for Lamb to return. Got to see Blue, but the blocks weren’t there. Dak had a good game 18/29 237yds., 4TDs, 0 INTs. Williams rushed for 137. Jets got garbage points at the end, but they count.

Last few seasons, the injury bug have hit the Tigers. I have them going 3-2 in district coming in 3rd. Not sold on this week but we shall see. I still believe they can go 2-3 rounds deep.
-
They still get paid. Someone had a bill making it where congress doesn’t get paid during a shutdown. That could curb some resistance. Of course, DOGE cut some of their payroll. Lol

Yep. WV is giving up 18 points per game while Newton is giving up only 12.
-
Dayton doesn’t stop much, and Lake Creek doesn’t stop much. Both can score. This one is going to be high scoring. I’m tempted to go with LC as a hipster pick.

75% of QB in SE TX couldn't have that completion percentage on air.

I didn’t read all four pages, but has anyone explained how our political leaders continue to get paid during a government shutdown?

Anahuac (14) @ Orangefield (49) - FINAL
Bobcat101 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Orangefield 49 Anahuac 14 Orangefield put together a good game plan to cage the Anahuac Panthers for Homecoming. Mason Manning opened the scoring with a 40 yd. run for a TD on their first series. The Panthers would hang around in the first half, down 21-14 late in the second quarter. But Colton Michael would squash any momentum they had with a blocked punt with a minute to play. Manning would score his fourth TD for a 28-14 lead. Manning would finish 134 yds. while QB Carson Gonzales was 10-11 for 228 yds. and two TD’s. Kaleb Menard and Hayden Clark would anchor the defense that shutout Anahuac in the second half. The Bobcats travel to Coldspring Friday. -
Will miss next week vs. Tarkington then be back.
-
How long are they out?

Montgomery Lake Creek (31) @ Montgomery (42) - FINAL
Darth Texas replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
West Fork: No, and that analysis is pretty simple. They aren’t as good as I thought they would be this year, and are actually much worse. Nederland: No, but it’s MCM. In 2022 a PNG team that later went to state had to throw a last minute TD to win against a terrible Nederland team. This year the bulldogs look weak at a bunch of levels but they were able to hang on in a shootout against a Dayton team that I think is at least slightly better than them on most days. I think we’re better, but we were better last year and they still managed to be better than us the night we played. Unless they start really getting dominated in the next two weeks, call that one a 50/50 and prepare like you’re the underdog. Dayton: Trap game. If we go into the last week at home with no losses and everyone assuming we’re going to be undefeated district champs, and looking past the Broncos into the playoffs, they have the offense to get us into a foot race. Their defense is bad, but they can put up points. So, no - I don’t think those three will beat us, but we have to just take it one game at a time. We’re beatable, and I hope we don’t let one of them prove it. -

Would love to see silsbee take this one on homecoming but I’m afraid those injuries are gonna be too much to over come against a very good HF team.

Each year teams tend to take on their own identity. There are several factors that help make that team (returning starters, experience, depth, health, strength of schedule, etc.) To compare apples to apples, the 2022 PN-G team through 5 games was 3-2, and this year's team is 5-0, so it could be argued that it could be the more complete team. We shall see. A state finalist in 2022 and state championship in 2023 would take a "pretty complete team". I believe early indications are the 2025 Indians have as good a chance at getting to the title game as both of those teams.
