  3. Thomas Massie repeatedly tried to stop or limit funding for the fraudulent daycare programs, especially after major fraud was uncovered in Minnesota involving hundreds of millions to potentially billions in misused federal child care funds. He publicly called out the $8 billion nationwide program for lacking guardrails against theft, challenged GOP leaders like Speaker Johnson and Leader Thune to fix it instead of just extending funding, and claimed he was the only Republican who never voted to fund those fraudulent centers. When a judge blocked Trump’s efforts to withhold funds from high-fraud states, Massie offered a specific amendment to an omnibus bill. It would have let the HHS Secretary temporarily freeze payments to risky states under programs like the Child Care and Development Fund until fraud reviews were done. That amendment got blocked in the Rules Committee. He’s been vocal about it into 2026, criticizing both parties for keeping the funding flowing without real oversight. The Minnesota scandal—tied to things like fake enrollments and kickbacks—has been a big flashpoint, with Massie pushing hard against it while most of Congress kept the money moving. per Grok

  12. Barbers Hill can still be covered. Anyone can post threads about Barbers Hill. Schedule or game threads can be posted. We are not banning BH talk from the site. We are just not covering the district they are now in. Not a single one of those schools besides BH have we ever covered here. One coverage team in a district is simply not enough to warrant us covering the entire district. Have to draw the line somewhere. You are incorrect about BH always have been covered here. The site started in 2005. I have been here since the start. We did not cover BH when we started the site. Didn't incorporate them in the coverage area until around 2007. Our coverage policy has always been the same. It takes at minimum 3-4 core teams in a district for us to cover that district. It is what it is.
  13. Ive been a follower of SETX Sports since probably the creation of this site. This site has followed Barbers Hill that whole time. Now that they reach 6A, SETX no longer follows them? Is West Chambers County no longer considered SE Texas? This garbage of its because of the district they're in is a poor excuse. I went to North Shore and our district has some of the best teams in the state and none of these teams are east of Harris County.
  14. LOL
  15. And progressing forward. We will look up one day and wonder how this happened and it may be too late

  20. There seems to be a different feeling going on around this iteration of Bruins. The scrimmage and non-district will tell us everything.
  21. Thanks for the info. I don't know much about Jasper or Shepherd but I have always been a fan of coach T. You know normally I am the first one to get out on the sidelines for a scrimmage but age must be sneaking up on me because this week I thought to myself. Aye let it go I will get out there next week. I have talked to my friend Tom Halliburton. He's pretty wrapped up in the mid city to Beaumont stuff but we still share a word every now and then. I've known him ever since we were in high school and he had a regular jig working for the Southwest Times Record which was the second largest paper in Arkansas. He covered the winners locker room in the national championship game in 1969. A lot of football and other sports has taken place since those days.
