  1. Past hour
  2. I watched the game with Sterling and the Rangers showed the path to victory on both sides of the ball. I would move some personnel around but run, run, and run some more
  3. watched the Woodville Trinity film . The game should’ve been tied at half but Trinity is Trinity . Woodville defense is really bad. On offense Babin is rarely under pressure, hasn’t been pressured much at all this season except for a little in the Orangefield game. Most of the completions are wide open or using sideline . Newton’s defensive backs will be the best Woodville has seen all year. Same with the Dline. A Dline that avg 5 sacks a game . Defense that forces an avg of 3 takeaways a game . .
  4. Kevin Shorter got hurt in 2013 vs EC , Newton went on to win that game 43-21 . Newton last district loss was in 2011 to EC 39-34 . Newton freshman QB Isaiah Foster is a beast , he threw for a combined 400 yards in the last two games 6 tds 0 int . Newton will definitely throw the ball in this game , they have been really balanced since Foster took over at QB . Using multiple WR since the Tatum game . If Woodville only focus is stopping one of the best running backs in Texas , KJ Porter , then expect Foster to torch the defense. If Woodville respect the pass then expect Porter to run for 250 . Woodville hasn’t really played anybody, this will be the best secondary Babin faces all year. I doubt he leaves without an interception. The speed of Of newton’s defense is gonna cause a lot of trouble for Babin, he wont be running for first downs, he be running for his life , he won’t have near as much time to find a Receivers.
  5. After witnessing the BH vs Sterling last Thursday, Sterling was consistently able to run the football with two of their backs racking up big chunks of yardage. Stop the run and WB will be fine.
  6. I agree that Woodville has a shot in a high scoring game. I see an improved offense from last year. Babin is getting to make reads and decisions this year. The O-Line has improved over the season. LeDoux (sp) has stepped up to be a quality receiver, Tolar is getting the best cover guy and still getting catches and the other skill guys are stepping up. Rigsby is gaining confidence after some early drops. Defense lost to graduation and is improving but last year was an exceptional all-around defense.
  7. I don't know what they know. All I know is they're not putting out the best group they could put out on defense. If a kid is playing less snaps then the other players at his position and opponents seem to make a conscious effort to not go his direction yet he still has the most tackles at his position up until the most recent game I think that might signify that kid should probably start at his position.
  8. Rah rah everyone. I support my team just now learning thats bad ?

  10. Nah they had real tests versus Legacy and going into the Hightower game before halftime happened in that one, this is just another one before WB, Lufkin and Baytown Sterling IMO 🤷🏾‍♂️
  11. First real test for PAM. Will be keeping an eye on this contest. If Barrier keeps tossing up gimme's like he has so far this season, this could get ugly. If not, it will be closer than some expect. I could see BH pulling the upset if PAM gets frustrated. I think the game will come down to pressure on Barrier. PAM pressure = Barrier INT's = PAM win.
  12. The Kempner Cougars enter the contest at Bulldog Stadium carrying a 3-2 record overall after dropping their first two district games against Kingwood Park & New Caney Porter. Kempner has been held to 9 total points in district play. La Porte enters the contest with a record of 4-1, and 2-0 in district play after convincing wins over Friendswood and Kingwood Park. The Cougars desperately want to notch their first district win, and the Dawgs want to continue to improve, and avoid injuries. Last year, LP won the match-up 56-16. Who comes out on top in the battle between the Cats & the Dawgs? The game will be streamed free on LPsportsNET YouTube Channel. [Hidden Content]
  13. Let the Virginia voters decide. It was a stupid thing to do, but last I checked it’s still legal to say stupid stuff.
  14. Are you saying that after 6 weeks, the Woodville coaches do not know who their best players are but somehow you do? Coaching professionals working with these kids for several weeks but they know less about the team than someone who sits in the bleachers. Got it.
  15. Huge game for district
  16. I will know problem. Just after you get some for you.
  17. Today
  18. Think that's probably the kid he was raving about last year. I think he's supposed to turn out to be really good. Either way it probably doesn't matter much as he'll probably just be handing off to #3. I'd like to see him put it in the air though 😆
  19. Need to give a lot of props to Huntsville. I thought we would struggle with their run game, but grossly underestimated how good they actually are. My assessment of Huntsville after Cedar Park was they're really fast but blocking and tackling are far below the standard Southern established. I think I was right about that three weeks ago, but both improved very, very much since Cedar Park. I'm convinced that Huntsville is better than they were in the last two years, and are a legit danger to everyone in Region 3. I was extremely pleased with PNG's turnaround in the 2nd half, and I think the defense learned vital lessons about how to deal with such a competent, athletic offense. But, I hope we look at this as a close win. The most important play of the game was the missed field goal. Some could argue that Hville should have gone for it on 4th and 1, but I think going for the FG was the right decision. You have a chance to maybe get stuffed on 4th and give momentum back to PNG, or you have a chance to get 3 points and make it where even if PNG scored 14 unanswered they would have only tied the game. So, Moebes was right to take the field goal. But, with the missed field goal, it changed the entire schedule for Hville when PNG got to 24. Instead of being tied, they were playing from behind. Then, when we scored another TD they weren't simply down by 7, they were down by 10 (actually down by 11, but I'm discounting the safety for this analysis). Their margin of error got smaller, real fast. My point is, PNG should think of this game as we won by a field goal (second year in a row that this game came down largely to a missed field goal). HVille could have been so much more patient for a lot longer in the game with those three points on the board. This game was also a testament to the importance of keeping the ball out of your opponent's hands. PNG dominated time of possession in the 2nd half, especially in the 3rd quarter. We held the ball for long drives, played with patience, and limited their opportunities. In the end, the whole second half turned on about four or five total plays where we stuffed them or got a sack. If we had given them more opportunities, who knows what would have happened? In other words, our defensive success in the 2nd half had as much to do with our adjustments as it did with not giving them more plays. And, Hville was figuring it out -- That TD at the end wasn't a fluke. They hadn't tried that misdirect the whole 2nd half. The problem with that play is our whole defense has to commit to charging the running lane to stop the play if they run to the far side -- When they reverse the field, we don't have anyone there. If they had more chances to try that, it's a different ball game. Summary: Ecstatic with PNG's defense, play calling, and overall level of play. But after last week I consider Huntsville an extremely reasonable contender for regional champion. They are MUCH better than last year. If it works out that PNG and Huntsville meet in the playoffs it's a 50/50 game and Hville has all the weapons to be terrifying. The only big weakness I see right now is the Huntsville tackling. I'm still not sure how much of our run success was due to us being good or Hville still needing work in the tackling game. If that improves, watch out. Good game, Hornets.
  20. District 10-3A games this week East Chambers at Anahuac Orangefield at Coldspring Buna at Hardin Kirbyville - BYE
  21. I don't know how you come up with your claim about me being right about nothing but I definitely wouldn't mind not being right about this game. Fact is most who know about these 2 teams had Newton as the favorite from the beginning and with the defense not being up to par this year (partially cause the coaching staff is not playing the best players) that makes our chances of winning this game even slimmer. You have a lot riding on me being wrong cause other wise you have never sided with Woodville about anything.
  22. Going to be a good one!
  23. Dawgs in a close one!
  24. That's awesome! Go Hardin!
