  1. Past hour
  2. That's true. They dominated the district this year.. for the first and only time in school history. And their district MVP is graduating. And their .. I don't know.. thousand plus yard rusher is also graduating. I'm sure those aren't the only seniors, but even if they have a ton back.. replacing genuinely GOOD players is very difficult to do. Hardin has never been the type of school to just reload when they lose some talent.
  3. Their explanation from the coach currently was that the people in charge before he got there made that choice on the last opt up. Bold move from a district challenging others integrity and character. BUT I expected them to opt up for an easier path for their measurement of success. And they will have success. Just dont go around beating your chests like you accomplished something big.
  4. No football coach in the state would choose saving money on travel over potential wins. A coaching friend of mine once said to me, "I'll drive across the state for a win, but I won't talk across the street for an a$$ whipping". Do you think Coach Taylor feels any different.
  5. Grew up in that neck of the woods. That’s where Finger’s Furniture used to be.
  6. I know why Bridge City opted up. I personally think that schools shouldn't be given the choice.. but I definitely know why they did.
  7. With that logic, would you have a problem with a school just 4 off from being in a lower division "opting down"....you know, for "travel" purposes? (I realize it's not an option). UIL should just make people play in the classification they are supposed to be in. It's ridiculous to "opt up" to get an easier path.

  9. Mungy definitely brings a different dynamic to the court! Hoping it’s a good game tonight with no injuries! Good luck to OF tonight!
  10. I wasn’t meaning it would be ugly, just saying it could if BC played like they know how…toss of the coin sometimes if you know what I mean? Which BC team will show up? All I can really judge it off of is the scrimmage that BC had against HJ, knowing what BC had as a team at that time compared to now and just looking at some scores. The first WB game surprised me the most but then the second time they played them, it was different. I do think it’ll be a good game for sure. BC’s defense was nonexistent at the first of the season but they’ve found some good momentum especially with Football being back. BC is having to move up a few JV kids tonight to cover for the ones that are out. Looking forward to a good game tonight.
  11. Kingwood Park may have thought they had escaped D1, but no such luck. Crosby, what can I say? Say hello to North Shore, Summer Creek, Atascocita, and C,E. King! Some teams will have to face both Randle and Iowa Colony in district.
  12. In SETX, schools only opt up to play against lesser competition. Travel is not a factor.
  13. Soft as Mississippi cotton. Being that close to top of enrollment for your district is perfect landing spot for almost every other school in the state i would imagine.
  14. Y'all really sound like some losers talking about "why doesn't Carthage opt to play up?" Like, why would they do that? They are squarely in the middle of D2 numbers. Because they are successful? The schools mentioned that opted to play up probably did so for travel purposes, not because they thought it would be fair to the rest of D2.
  15. I know you disagree. That's ok. Sometimes, it doesn't take a complex scheme. Sometimes you just have some dudes that can get it done. I still think Carthage wins, just think it will be a decent game. It's ok that you don't.
  16. I wouldn't say it's still like that but home is still home. This team is better than some are making them out to be. Besides, I was told BC will be down 4 varsity players for this game.
  17. It's been a while since I've caught a game in Sour Lake. I know it was an extremely tough place to play in the Todd Sutherland era. Is it still like that?
  18. Well cmon then, I got some expired kibbles n bits to feed them puppies 😁🙃
  19. BC would've been biggest in region too likely. Everyone knows why they opted up. Explaining why to community and players is another story 🤣
  20. Hardin will be 3A DII in football.
  21. I don't know what division they'll fall into but Hardin didn't have any issues this year! Lol
  22. Well, in this case it would help them travel wise. That DII district currently has Anderson-Shiro, New Waverly and Trinity. Also, Woodville and Newton are much longer drives than what they face currently.
  23. I could see La Porte moving back in with BWB, PAM, etc. with BH & Crosby both moving up.
  24. Well in Bridge City's case, it was to get an easier path to the playoffs. They opted up to avoid having WO-S and Silsbee in their district.
