  1. Past hour
  2. I am pretty confident there will be. Three teams make wild card. Currently, Seattle is behind only the Yankees (1 game) and tied with the Red Sox. They have a 2 1/2 game lead over the Royals and 3 1/2 game lead over Cleveland. Therefore, Houston currently has a 1/2 game lead over Yankees, 1 1/2 over Boston, 4 games over KC and 5 games over Cleveland. I don't see KC or Cleveland or Tampa Bay or Texas over taking any of the two for a wild card spot. 36 games left to play, so lot's can happen and the trend of late isn't good but I believe Houston will make playoffs as division winner or wild card.
  3. I have to say thank you for what you're doing. I worked in the ambulance business for several years in my younger days. As a matter of fact TVC and I were both rookies......it was THAT long ago lol. A good majority of our calls were the homeless. I hate that we can't solve this problem. In Port Arthur there was a camp across from one of our Wal-Marts in the woods. The city allowed it for years until recently the city came down and cleared it out and made property owner clean it up. They just moved to a different location.
  4. It is unusual for first and second place teams to be in a slump at the same time. IMO I still think it's because of all the lineup changes etc. that the Stros just can't gel. I still think and hope they can still win the division. I don't think a wild card will be out of our division.
  5. Randle over SOC in a rematch for sure.
  6. It would be interesting to see how few actually live in Sabine Pass vs how many come in through the open enrollment door. Sabine Pass is really an Industrial area, like downtown PA. It may have changed but, i don't think there's any place to get gas after dark? It's not setup to support the town folk. It's all about industry.
  7. I love your perspective. Moving them from downtown to your neighborhood makes matters worse. Place them in a recovery camp like they do immigration. A Camp that provides rap around services and teaches VT or culinary arts etc. The same thought process that went into housing immigration should have been applied to homelessness and not a knee jerk reaction. We lock them up but that only clogs up the courts and two are three days later they are back on the streets. Don’t let me start on mental heath. I have EPC mental health patients and brought them to the hospital. The hospital released them 24 hours later because DSS refuses to open a case. They have no more funding and the state of South Carolina has only 20 beds available. If you have health insurance you can be placed into a mental health facility and or a drug facility. I continue to do my part. If you are homeless depressed and want off drugs I get you help through Life Changers Out Reach which is a 12 month program the covers food housing and programs. It is faith based so you will study the Bible and attend classes. You have a roof over your head and you are surrounded by people that will show you kindness and leadership. It may seem like I’m dumping on other states but it’s the only tool I have right now to combat homelessness and drug addiction for someone who wants change.
  8. Anyways 🙄 Back to the topic sort of..... @Matthew328 I got Aledo over La Porte in 5A D1 and Iowa Colony over Anna in 5A D2. Would be real easy to pick a Randle vs SOC part-2 in D2 but........🤷🏾‍♂️
  9. Just a question... In bold: any evidence of this?? (Real evidence, not accusations)
  10. Today
  11. Good for them. But they still recruit at a level that should be completely unacceptable.
  12. This is one of those situations where there really is no GOOD answer for the homeless. How do you help someone that does not want to help themselves? A lot of them are alcoholics or drug users, and all they want is the next fix. Some of them are just plain lazy and won't do anything to make their life better. Some have mental issues and need treatment. We can jail them for breaking our laws, and at least then they get a shower and 3 meals. It's easy to say it needs to be fixed. You can get all warm and fuzzy by saying they should be left alone....problem is, if you're being honest, you don't want them pitching a tent in your front yard. Businesses does not want them on their property, or in front of their business. 99.9% of people don't like walking around or through tents pitched on a sidewalk. Lastly, There has been a homeless problem for how many years? It certainly didn't just happen under either of Trumps terms. It has been an ongoing issue and getting WORSE - so, maybe throwing tax dollars at it is not solving anything. We've been doing that and it's not getting better. So, IF Doge cut those programs, maybe we can save that money for a better solution to the homeless problem.......because what we have been doing is not working.
  13. Saw this statement on X. I tend to agree with it. About time to relieve the stress and just see how the Astros baseball season is going to wind up--good or bad--and accept their fate. Injuries have decimated and the long season has ground them down
  14. Vagrancy and loitering used to be crimes. Most of the homeless are not “down on their luck”, they lost everything to drugs. We have made homelessness an acceptable lifestyle. Let the flogging begin.
  15. Show the other side of the city. I’ve seen it.
  16. I’ve seen St Louis ranked #1 in the U.S. They’re ranked 6th in the world and they’re not even on the list. Here’s a top 10 I found… [Hidden Content]
  17. A peroosal(sp) of the demographics of each DISD school would say otherwise. If you watched the SOC doc, the kids at the time had to walk out to get upgrades in facilities. Those kids and teachers sacrifice to create the SOC you see today......
  18. Yep. Close that campus from open enrollment and live that 6-man life
  19. If you know of any Thursday scrimmages being moved to Friday because of the weather, please post here. Thanks
  20. Did what? You don’t make any sense in most of your posts.
  21. You believe Trump did?
  22. They brought back 3 starters from last years state finalists team… I believe they starting a freshman at middle so gonna be one of those seasons where they will get better as the season goes but Coach Brewer should have them where they need to be come playoff time.. I mean there is no shame in losing to decent 6A teams but these are also games they probably could’ve won. They will still probably be a favorite to win the region come playoff time.
  23. But you believe Ethiopia?
