It would be interesting to see how few actually live in Sabine Pass vs how many come in through the open enrollment door. Sabine Pass is really an Industrial area, like downtown PA. It may have changed but, i don't think there's any place to get gas after dark? It's not setup to support the town folk. It's all about industry.
-
I love your perspective. Moving them from downtown to your neighborhood makes matters worse. Place them in a recovery camp like they do immigration. A Camp that provides rap around services and teaches VT or culinary arts etc. The same thought process that went into housing immigration should have been applied to homelessness and not a knee jerk reaction. We lock them up but that only clogs up the courts and two are three days later they are back on the streets. Don’t let me start on mental heath. I have EPC mental health patients and brought them to the hospital. The hospital released them 24 hours later because DSS refuses to open a case. They have no more funding and the state of South Carolina has only 20 beds available.

Anyways 🙄 Back to the topic sort of..... @Matthew328 I got Aledo over La Porte in 5A D1 and Iowa Colony over Anna in 5A D2. Would be real easy to pick a Randle vs SOC part-2 in D2 but........🤷🏾♂️ -

Just a question... In bold: any evidence of this?? (Real evidence, not accusations) -
Good for them. But they still recruit at a level that should be completely unacceptable.

This is one of those situations where there really is no GOOD answer for the homeless. How do you help someone that does not want to help themselves? A lot of them are alcoholics or drug users, and all they want is the next fix. Some of them are just plain lazy and won't do anything to make their life better. Some have mental issues and need treatment. We can jail them for breaking our laws, and at least then they get a shower and 3 meals. It's easy to say it needs to be fixed. You can get all warm and fuzzy by saying they should be left alone....problem is, if you're being honest, you don't want them pitching a tent in your front yard. Businesses does not want them on their property, or in front of their business. 99.9% of people don't like walking around or through tents pitched on a sidewalk. Lastly, There has been a homeless problem for how many years? It certainly didn't just happen under either of Trumps terms. It has been an ongoing issue and getting WORSE - so, maybe throwing tax dollars at it is not solving anything. We've been doing that and it's not getting better. So, IF Doge cut those programs, maybe we can save that money for a better solution to the homeless problem.......because what we have been doing is not working.

Saw this statement on X. I tend to agree with it. About time to relieve the stress and just see how the Astros baseball season is going to wind up--good or bad--and accept their fate. Injuries have decimated and the long season has ground them down

Vagrancy and loitering used to be crimes. Most of the homeless are not “down on their luck”, they lost everything to drugs. We have made homelessness an acceptable lifestyle. Let the flogging begin.

A peroosal(sp) of the demographics of each DISD school would say otherwise. If you watched the SOC doc, the kids at the time had to walk out to get upgrades in facilities. Those kids and teachers sacrifice to create the SOC you see today...... -

Did what? You don’t make any sense in most of your posts.

You believe Trump did?
-
They brought back 3 starters from last years state finalists team… I believe they starting a freshman at middle so gonna be one of those seasons where they will get better as the season goes but Coach Brewer should have them where they need to be come playoff time.. I mean there is no shame in losing to decent 6A teams but these are also games they probably could’ve won. They will still probably be a favorite to win the region come playoff time.

But you believe Ethiopia?

Sabine Pass 2025 season in doubt??
RETIREDFAN1 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
That 128 enrollment keeps them from 6-man..... -
According to the article it’s not the score but a campus that has had an F for 5 consecutive years. It was more like 8-9 years but they got the covid exemption. So for almost a decade they have a school not meeting the minimum standard.

Really? That true? That’s low!!
