i wanna know how bryce dejohn didnt get it over mosier and jeremy garza didnt get it for reciever i think some people got jacked out of some spots on it i know the coaches vote but the second ranked quarterback in the district for passing didnt get anything i think there needs to be a revote on this one when we played nederland mosier didnt impress me at all

It's politics and reputation that decided, no other reason.

Wins and losses?? I guess that's why durham with one win got first team???

Moshier made 2nd team all district QB with these stats.

This includes playoff games (12 total)!

Moshier 92/193 (48%) 11 ints 12 Tds 1379 yards 115/game

Where is DeJohn from Lumberton?

This is playing 10 games

111/207 (54%) 12 ints 15 tds 1545 yards. 154.5/game

Does anybody know how this process works? Does a coach from a school nominate a player(s) by position and then all coaches vote? Or is every player in the district potentially a candidate even if his coach does not nominate him. just curious how the process works.

DeJohn had a great year but there is more than stats in picking all-district. I can see that the Lumberton fans believe in all-district by computer. Let the computer spit out the stats and that is your all district team.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Leadership, impact on the team, winning, etc., all go into the coaches making their decisions.

As far as stats, DeJohn has slightly better stats but just barely. Moshier taking his team two games deep in the playoffs probably seem more important to the coaches than looking at Lumberton as last place in the district.

DeJohn has all the above except the winning team, as did Durham. Moshier just happened to be the guy handing the ball to Mosley and plays for Neuman.

Well, it figures you are a Lumberton fan. The stats are almost identical. You can make the Mosley argument but you can also change it around. If Lumberton would have had a back gain 2,400 yards this year, would DeJohn have still tossed for 1,500 yards? I doubt it.

As you pointed out, "DeJohn has all of the above except the winning team" (your words). I think you just hit the nail on the head. Losing teams don't put as many people on all-district teams as do winning teams. It is the same from little league to the pros.

Again using your words:

"Does anybody know how this process works?"

If a winning team is the reason then why is Durham (1-9) first team and Moshier 2nd team?

115/game to 155/ game is not that close and a good back HELPS the passing game not hurts it. If we had a running back that had 2400 yards we could have thrown for 2000+ because our opponents would have played man defense and put 8 in the box instead of a two deep zone. Moshier should have had over 2000 yards.

And by the way i am not from Lumberton nor do i live their now! Just a fan!

we arent sayin there is a conspiracy goin on we were just wonderin how the 10th(somthin around this) ranked quarterback in the greater houston area doesnt make atleast 2nd team all district

By given an MVP award there isn't a reason to name that player 1st or 2nd team, the MVP award speaks for it's self...

With that being said you could also take a look at the 21-3A Selections, where MVP Earl Thomas doesn't recieve a spot on the 1st or 2nd team b/c MVP speaks for its self.... It puts them above 1st and 2nd team status..

Players are also not voted on by the number of picks or tackles that they make, they arer voted on by the total number of plays they make and their importance to the success of their team...

Ozens fastest is correct. If you get an individual award like MVP or Offensive/Defensive Player of the Year, in effect you are above the other all-district picks. For example, if a running back is the MVP, then the 1st Team running back can basically be called the second pick since the best running back was lofted into a higher status. That is not a slight to the 1st and 2nd team picks but it points out a single player as being the best at what he does for the team if he is named MVP or one of the Player of the Year awards.

First off we didn't need to pass when we played Lumberton we only had to run the ball, Mosley had 400 yards by himself. Don't think the Lumberton Qb did anything that hurt Nederland....
