Yesterday Wharton played their first fall games against Alvin Community College in Alvin.
The Pioneers split the double header winning the first game 10-2 and dropping the second game 6-1. WB's Arron Morgan went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and threw out 2 stealing 2nd. HF's Kyle Markum went 1-1, stole 2nd base and threw out 1 stealling 2nd. LCM's Hunter Gonzales and
Scott Vaughn both had solid defensive games in the field.
There's a new winning attitude at WCJC and the coaches have the team primed for a fun season.

WCJC just finished a tourney at Blinn this weekend. The Pioneers defeated Angelina, lost to Galveston and tied Blinn and San Jac. Silsbee's Caleb Henry and Lance Brown, both now at Angelina, had solid performances against Wharton.
Wharton's SE Texas connection of Morgan, Markum, Vaughn and Gonzalas are proving to be valuable contributers in the resurgence of the Pioneer baseball program. All four had solid offensive and defensive outings this weekend.

WCJC dropped a hard fought double header to LSUE this past weekend. The SE Texas connection all had solid games despite the outcome of the games. Morgan had a great day throwing out 4 and hitting a solo shot. Vaughn showed off his skills at 2nd playing some of his best defense of the season. Gonzales covered everything hit to right field and held runners to one base. Markum was again solid behind the plate and had 1 RBI. WCJC should be in good shape for the Spring. They are working hard and learning a lot about their team this Fall by playing tough opponents.

Openning day for the WCJC Pioneers is this Friday 1/27/12 in Wharton against San Jac at 6:00.
Saturday's double-header will be at San Jac starting at 2:00. The SETX connection has been joined by HF's Jeremy Pender.
Pender will add a lot of speed the WCJC's lineup.
Should be a good series.

Go, PIONEERS!  I'm from Eagle Lake (25 miles from Wharton) and my Big Brother Hero played football for Coach Johnny Frankie at WCJC.  Great memories.

Wharton took Friday's game 4-2. Markum started behind the plate and Pender in Right. Markum went 1-3 with his timely single to push a runner into scoring position during the 7th. He was lifted for pinch runner Aaron Morgan who scored when Pender beat out a bunt. WCJC scored all 4 runs in the 7th with former HF duo playing a major part. WB's Reggie Wilson went 1-3 with a walk. Both teams showed strong pitching and the start their double header today at 2. Great opening day for WCJC.

    • No chance in hell that this pos is found guilty.
    • After his silly conviction, President Trump has raised over 200 Million dollars!  The people are seeing through it!  Excellent!
    • Let’s see if joe biden’s words about no one is above the law, made after the rigged trial of President Trump, rings true with his po💩son.  Hopefully, but I’m not going to hold my breath, they put the sorry sob in prison.
    • I liked his no bull crap attitude. He was a man of very few words. Extremely strong and freaky athletic!!! As close as possible to being the best offensive lineman to ever play the game. I hope his family finds peace without him!!! RIP #73
    • Chester, a small town in NE Tyler County.  A town that is seeing growth with the addition of a national chain store and a new school being built.  If you travel 287 toward Dallas from the Golden Triangle you have probably passed through Chester.  Things tend to stay pretty consistent and it is your typical small town.   A trip to state is the buzz around town, and the talk before church services begin on Sunday.  This year’s graduating class will number 11.  We don’t have a radio station that covers the Yellowjackets.  We are never a lead story on any of the news stations that broadcast to our community. With all that said, there is a closeness and sense of pride in our community.  Every community rallies behind their kids as they progress into the playoffs.  We are proud of our boys as they have represented our community well and with class. We invite you to follow our boys as they go to state.  We welcome the greater SETX communities as honorary Yellowjackets.  Tune in, watch live or come to Round Rock personally and join us in supporting the Chester Yellowjackets.  Go ‘Jackets!!! ⚾️💜💛⚾️🟣🟡⚾️💜💛⚾️
