I'll be pulling for the Fighting Cameron Yoemen!!!  I wish I had some information on Lago Vista but I haven't heard or seen anything on them.  I do know this, the Yoemen are good, very good!!!  I love seeing that maroon and grey.

You could go to Maxpreps.com, go into high school football, put Lago Vista in as the team and you will be able to check out their record for this season.  You'll see the game by game results (scores).

I do not know much about Lago either.  There schedule was generally weak with their toughest game(during the regular season being either 3A Robinson(3-7) or San Saba(5-5).  The first real challenge came just this past week with Rice Consolidated(8-3) where they won on a last second drive.  I was watching film earlier of them playing one of the toughest district opponents they had in Marion.  I could not get much out of it but I think we match up well with them.  They will run a sort of Slot-T type offense which we have seen this year.  They have a pretty speedy RB(not quite as speedy at the Tatum backs) but pretty quick.  We will have to plug the hole in the middle and not let them outside, and IMO, will be fine.  Im pretty sure they have not seen a passing game as dynamic that we will throw at them.  I'm interested to see how it goes.

The Mansfield stadium is very nice!!!  It's not COWBOYS STADIUM, but it is nice.  Hopefully the YOEMEN will be there, and if they are, so will I.

Yeah it is.  I would compare it to a Waco ISD type stadium for Central Texas.

I will say Yoe by 24 in this one. Does anyone really know what a Yoemen is ??
[/quote]

History of C.H. Yoe High School

After the death of Charles Yoe in 1921, his wife, Caroline, gave the money to buy land and build a new high school for Cameron. The citizens of Cameron named the school after her husband C.H. Yoe.

The Yoemen mascot is a maroon colored archer, or a maroon colored Robin Hood.  I will try to find a picture.

There's also this definition that was written by a couple of C. H. Yoe High school students:

Definition of Yoemen
YOEMEN is plural, not Yoeman. We don’t play for ourselves, we play as a team. To be classified as a YOEMEN you have pride in your team and not just yourself. We play for the name on the front NOT the back. To be a YOEMEN is all about being full of pride, being a top school in the state, and never giving up in our school and our name, “YOEMEN.” We may be hated by many, loved by few, but we ARE Respected By All. We do everything with class and respect for others. To be a YOEMEN you have to have heart and effort to be the best that you can be for the school and the community. We STAND OUT as one of the schools that does not have a repetitive mascot like a tiger or a mustang. As you go through Yoe High School or any other Cameron ISD campus, ALWAYS remember that YOE PRIDE NEVER DIES. You can take the person out of the school, but you cannot take the YOE PRIDE out of the student. Once a YOEMEN, always a YOEMEN.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
