I agree. Unless the transferred QB can score most if not all the points. I know Orangefield receivers are all returning.

the site director on here who knows all things EC has already clearly stated that HE (Fontenot) was playing QB as he made it very clear.  It's others on here, who have chimed in and said somebody else was playing qb, so I think some were just wondering where the confusion was.

I do not know "all things EC". I rely on sources from EC.

It's very possible that time will be split at the QB position but I understood that Fontenot will play QB.

Thanks for clearing it up.  I just meant that your sources over there are reliable and others on here are just sharing "hear say" rumors.  Whoever they use I am certain will be good.  Sutherland usually puts together a well oiled offense.

I'll tell yall this, the lefty was damn impressive at BH two years ago as a sophomore and if EC can have him at QB allowing KJ to be used elsewhere as a weapon, they're going to be dangerous.

If he’s the Soph that played against La Porte in the PO’s, I remember he had a live arm. LP crushed BH. But, I was impressed with his play.

Pretty easy when you get transfers every year.  Great coach but let's be real.  Qb goes to PAM, transfer feom Canada.  QB comes back, but bc Babin goes to BH, the lefty from BH transfers to EC.  For once id like to play EC with the same players they have in jr high.

The last time I attended a game at EC in person the Rice Festival was going on in "downtown" Winnie, and at halftime the band marched in the dark with flashlights taped to their legs.  That's all I remember.  But Ima definitely attend at least 1 game this season just to see their new QB play.

Sounds like someone wants some cheese with their whine!  Graduated from EC many years ago, and when you have a school that is all around strong in everything from athletics to UIL to FFA, etc. the school sales itself.  Why would people not want their kids go to a school that is as well balanced and competitive in every aspect of school life.

In the DCTF preview for EC, only Fontenot is listed as a QB. No other player is mentioned at that position.

Transfers every year? EC has had maybe a handful of “transfers”. The RB Ceaser was probably the first but he didn’t just move for football purposes. EC has always been competitive in all sports with kids from Winnie. The Tramain Thomas years were good, the Glen Roberts and Dylan Silcox years were good along with a lot of other group of kids. East Chambers is always disciplined and ready thanks to their coaches like Evans, Valastro, and now Sutherland. Don’t be salty man

Not a doubt.  They aren't getting transfers like they used to for certain reasons, that most are aware.  I'm sure people liked "Slinger" as a person last year, but it did them no favors on the football field losing Fontenot and having to re-group with a ONE year starter.  One particular team they played during district, it was an absolute blood bath and over by half-time. Something I have noticed over the last 5-10 years when I was in the area, the Bucs look very small collectively.  Back in the 80's - 2010's , I remember a lot of size in Winnie.  That's no longer the case it appears.
