I know its more As, but seems like a step down to me...

His wife was still living and working in that area. They never sold their house in Manvel. Crumedy was living in an apartment in Jasper and both were traveling back and forth.

FB Travis went 8-3 last year, finishing 2nd in district.

Jasper was 2-8 this past season, missing the playoffs for first time in 15 years, 6-15 the last two seasons.

Makes sense.  I wonder if he was forced out?

My point is I don't know how many coaches turn their heads at the Travis job like they do the Jasper one.  That used to be one of the top jobs in the entire State of Texas.

Key words "used to be".

I guarantee FB Travis job pays more than Jasper.

As for being forced out? I don't think so but there are some powers in Jasper who aren't happy with how the athletic program had fallen so hard.

Him living in an apartment and wife staying in their home in Manvel tells me he was in Jasper only temporarily.

Been sitting on this info for over a week now.

Good luck to Coach Crumedy.

I have heard that Malcom Bronson will get serious consideration for this job.

Malcom Bronson was a 3 sport athlete stud… I believe he was all state in Football and Baseball…

But I personally believe with a background like him he can get Jasper athletics back to their normal standard for competing in D.C. across multiple sports

The question is, does he want the job?

Some have said he doesn't want the head ache.

I will say this Jasper has great new facilities there, they still have the athletes. It will just take a very special person to come in and get the whole school going again imo…

What’s the biggest “head ache” ?

Good question. He or some Jasper peeps would have to answer that question.

I was just repeating what a Jasper person told me.

Didn't expect to hear this news today. I wish Coach all the best at Travis and hope that we can get someone that can bring Jasper back to prominence in the area. The Bulldogs were very young last year and on top of that, it seems like participation as a whole at all levels is down. That needs to be fixed.

I thought about messaging you a week or so ago when I was told he would be leaving.

It's all good, brother. I wouldn't have leaked it, but it's not worth the risk. Terry told me about it a little bit ago.

Blaming the kids again I see!  Fascinating!

Yep, they are the ones on the field. Cant "make bricks with no straw". Been watching these cycles at various programs for a few decades.

I am going to go ahead and make a prediction for you to come back and check later: The next coach will struggle this coming year and will turn the tide back to being "Jasper" when the current sophomores become SRs.

I don't blame you for feeling the way you do.  There are very few professions were people blames themselves for their failures.  Always looking for some one else to blame.  But as Bill Parcels once said, looking for someone to blame?  "Look at the man in the mirror."  I'd add along with that -- but do not look at the kids in the weight room.   Blaming the kids is to easy.

As for as Jasper, you may be right about no success.  That's if they don't hire a good coach.  My advise -- stay away from home cooking.  Didn't work out to good for them this past time.

Thanks for the validation. I have been fortunate to see kids develop from Jr High through High school for multiple decades. Not sure about the number of kids but I believe it to be well into thousands. There is guaranteed 1000% proven fact that winning is about "Jimmies and Joes, not Xs and Os". In Jasper's case, I have actually "looked at them in the weightroom" and based upon that observation I am certain they will look like Jasper again after one more season, and it will not matter who they have for a coach. Although, everyone will all of a sudden proclaim the greatness of the new coach (similar to how they proclaimed Crumedy a few years ago, after Barbay was run out of town for bad coaching).

I can even think of another 4AD2 program in SETX where everyone wanted to fire the coach for a few years and they even thought that "little league coaches" knew more. After the coach that everyone wanted to fire, got a good group of talent in the upper classes they went to the State Championship game and the whole community then thought the coach had an epiphany and learned how to coach.

Talked to Crum at length at the DFW Clinic about the possibility of going to Travis and then last night on the phone....obviously the family dynamic played a big role in his decision....I know that Jasper returns 16 starters...they played 13 sophs and 5 freshman on varsity last year...

I think Bronson is the internal candidate if he wants the job and the vibe I got is he does want the job
