myrecordwashorrible Posted May 29 Author Report Posted May 29 Olivier has had words with the oposition fairly often. Feared he may have a disastrous inning, but only giving up 3 there was big. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Final 7-5 A&M Lamar (0-1) will face loser of Texas State/USC A&M (1-0) will face winner of Texas State/USC Quote
spidersal Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 Wow Lamar played much better than I thought they would. They hit the ball well early, just too many pop ups. Oliver pitched pretty good , but way too many free bases to win. Hopefully they will play good tomorrow Quote

spidersal Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 They said Lamar starting pitcher went out with heat related problem, I think it was more not being able to throw a strike and when you did you got pounded Quote
spidersal Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 In the history of the SLC has any team ever won a regional tournament Lamar played scrappy yesterday, today they look pathetic. The new coach better find a pitching coach and recruit some decent pitchers Quote
spidersal Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 Final results on Lamar’s season positives winning record 2nd in SLC and a terrific comeback to win the conference tournament made it to a regional and scored some runs negatives one of the worst pitching staffs I have seen in a long time Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 31 Author Report Posted May 31 Very few players on the roster eligible to return as it was an extremely senior heavy roster. Nice to see the team make a regional for the first time in 16 years. Great resources for a SLC school so hope the program can start winning a bit more consistently. Also, hope to have the new hire announced by tomorrow and start moving forward with what will likely be an essentially rebuilt roster. I know a guy in the conference that rebuilt from nothing with absolutely no NIL in the program, but quite sure many quality names are in the mix. The guy from Blinn mentioned earlier by a poster has a tremendous resume. All we can do now is hide and watch. Will truly miss Hatten as we were students together years ago and he and others allowed me to assist with summer camps when I coached high school ball. Great guy and quite entertaining when he was angry during a game, which occurred basically when a game was being played. Lol My old man, my brother, and I will have our lawn chairs ready for the 3rd base line in 2027 for the best few months of the year See all 3 or 4 of you at the Beck next season. Hit em where they ain't! AggiesAreWe 1 Quote

navydawg31 Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 This is a slam dunk hire I love it… Jeff O’Malley continues to do a great job at Lamar. Sad thing is I hope he doesn’t get poached by someone bigger… Quote
