I don't believe SOC is open enrollment.  They just have people/families move into the district lines is what I have been told by Coach Todd.  We all call it recruiting and that very much is what is taking place, but they found the loop hole and are obeying the UIL rules for now.

Correct. Oak Cliff is one of the highest crime rates and lowest income areas in all of the Metro.

State Fair has been trying to figure out how to leave that area. Just too much history there along with Cotton Bowl to pull up stakes.

Yes, South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, TX has an open enrollment option, as it is an open enrollment high school within the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). While it serves its local neighborhood, students from other areas can apply to attend through the district's Public School Choice program. To enroll, parents can follow the DISD application process, which may require getting approval for students from outside the local zone.

Im backkkk… just for a post or two. SOC, Randle, and IC, to me, are the top tier teams in the classification. I think we fall into tier 2. Does that mean we can’t win, no…. But it will take a perfect game and pull it out in the end type of situation. I will say this. And I’m a life long PNG fan. I have never seen more ignorance, racism, and utter negativity in my life from the PNG fans. From the crying about open enrollment, gloves, region, coaching, etc…. Suit up and play the game and see what happens. But speak with some football IQ folks. We are in the quarters. A undefeated season so far, great coaching staff, and good little  team. Have a QB, RB, and 2 WR, coming back next year. Versus all the negativity, shoot out some positive thoughts.

No problem. It's all good 👍🏾

PNG has to keep that SOC offense inside the numbers. That speed will kill them if they don't. It's HS football, the level of talent and football IQ isn't at an all-time high. Athleticism beats technical tackling, rushing, and passing at this level. I see it being within 10 points at half, but eventually SOC will make the athletic plays to set themselves apart. Expect to see deep balls over the top of the Indian defense in the 3rd and 4th QTR's. When the defense falls back into coverage to stop the deep ball threat, expect to see the QB use his legs. You don't have to be the world's best coach or offensive coordinator to call that offensive scheme.

Also you: "Shoot out some positive thoughts."

Geez, oh man. It must be awesome to feel so pure.

The State Fair isn't in Oak Cliff. It's close to South Dallas. There is a lot of recruiting which I'm not a fan of in the DFW area though. There's some in the Houston area also but I think the DFW area is much worse

Oak Cliff is a large community. Almost like a city within itself. And it actually has some decent little neighborhoods within it

I've done a couple of ridealongs there with my little sister, who worked the graveyard shift as a patrol officer for almost a decade. A lot of it is rough. The areas where most of the SOC players who are actually from Oak Cliff are certainly rough.

That might depend on what you consider rough. I would never mistake it for South Dallas like someone else did though

I agree with your assessment of what you just text but since the La Porte game every single team has done the same thing against us defensively which is play man to man on our receivers and put every other available player in the box and run blitz on every single play. So when you have 8 in the box and one 6 lineman and HB to block for the RB you leave 2 players completely unblocked nearly every single play. High school coaches struggle to come up with ways to off set this. And our offensive coordinator and staff definitely struggled last week to come up with anything that worked. Go back and watch the 2023 state game against SOC and see how we schemed against them and hit repeatedly. We ran with a Sophomore QB option plays to the outside edge of the line of scrimmage which aided the inside trap plays, we ran wide receiver screens, crossing routes to receivers, screens to the RB and threw over the top to stretch the field and make the defense make plays 1 on 1 and we had success. Ashworth has athleticism use it this week because if our offense plays like it did against MH we will not advance past this game. And use the HB in the offense they rarely get covered because we never throw the ball to them. Run some RPO plays and hit the HB IN between the line of scrimmage and the safety when they are blitzing their LB on every play it’s wide open. Their is no help in the zone that they will receive the pass in and it’s a quick pass that can devestate a defensive. Our CB have to not let WR get behind them we have given up to many big plays the last couple of weeks and don’t need to. Our run defense has been very good all year but they have to make plays and get off the field and not let SOC have 10 -12 play drives that wear us down. Offensively control the clock be aggressive against their pressure and don’t be afraid to take chances down the field . Special teams will play a huge part in this game and the crowd needs to bring energy that the players feed off of. SOC is #1 because they earned it but they was #1 every time we have played them . Looking for a great game and atmosphere for high school football and praying that neither team comes out of it with any injuries because we have had way more than our share of injuries this season. Good luck to both teams and let the best team win.

Yeah, definitely drop some passes down the middle, if possible, to free up those LB and help the run game. Short quick routes can help get us pass the line of scrimmage if clogged in the middle like last week. The Midlothian LBs were probably the best we've seen all year. Keep them honest and off the line of scrimmage. Of course, I'm just an accountant, lol. I ain't watching film. Just my arm chair analysis
