spidersal Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago It was a very good win for the Bulldogs I was surprised but happy I thought the running game was a little better than last week and much more disciplined than WOS. The OL was fair and the punter did a good job The offensive negative is absolutely no passing game. The receivers can’t catch a ball Defensively, they held WOS to 6 mainly thanks to penalties for a very undisciplined team. The Bulldogs tackling was not good at all. Way too many missed tackles, but they played hard The problem I see, is if they do not improve a bunch on both sides of the ball, I don’t see them beating Dayton, Montgomery, Huntsville, or PNG. They should have a good chance vs Splendora and West Fork and may have a chance vs Lake Creek I will say that the new coaching staff is doing a fantastic job and the Dogs are young this year, so we should see a lot of improvement Darth Texas 1 Quote

That falls straight in WOS coaching staff. what I saw watching tonight is Nederland out coached WOS by MILES. Nederland went 2-0 in this series against WOS. You don’t see that happen very often. Thank you !! I'm glad you see that.ik, ppl thought it would be a turnaround year.but, it want happen with this staff. U have to call a spade a spade. I'm just the area alone w.o is one of the worse coached team in the area.unless the kids do something on there on.its no way they will win district!! Silsbee and HF are better coached teams. I watched HF last week against LCM and the position there coaching staff put that young QB in.i applaud them for that.and silsbee is doing the same thing with there Yung QB. Ppl don't realize w.o has a oline man calling plays.im still trying to figure it out.ik, everyone trust to be positive but, something weren't meant to be.and this was a bad experience.and the kids are suffering bcz of it. navydawg31 1 Quote

And I promise you I'm not the only one.if you only knew what goes on here!! I'm not mad bcz, they lost but, ur not putting kids in position to at least play at the next level or at least get looked at.it want happen unless changes are made.nederland played well enough to win . but there not there yet either.but, at least there coaching staff gives them a chance.w.o has no chance to go far.they can beat team with less talent.but, the days when they could line up and play against anyone is gone unless changes are made.once again something aren't a gud fit. WOSdrummer99 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago With 13 coaches on the sideline and at least 1 in the box. Smh. Blame it on a 4 day work week. Anyone remember the day 1 interview... "We talked about this morning about earning it. You know, last year, you know, we got close. You know, we made a big step, you know, winning nine games and but around here, you know, ain't nobody going to give it to us. We got to earn it. And that was kind of our our calling card for the whole offseason is earning it and putting in the work and that's what we're going to live on this year. We got to earn it. We got to earn that position to get where we need to be and where we want to be." "What makes West Orange-Stark special? Our rich tradition of the Mustang Way." - West Orange-Stark head coach Hiawatha Hickman Waaaaay too far from the Mustang Way. DCTF... @Matthew328 and Tepper we love u guys and Pickle too. But stop putting us in the rankings please. Remember what u saw against PNG to drop us out 3 years ago. Its still happening. Nothing has gotten better. Why on earth would u run in a play if u dont know the ruling on the field yet. But we send our formation to the line just in time to get out of the way of the ref marching us back. Only to run the same play from 3rd and 20 instead of 3rd and 5. Then we pick up 7 yards and punt. Not to mention the opposing defense sees exactly what we show and makes adjustments between the hash marks quicker that we do. Our "Football IQ" has diminished. Look no furthur than this QB glitch towards the end. Somebody needs to be running stands all night long. And im not talking about players. The kids have given 112% for 4 years. Reagan 1 Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I can remember a Silsbee QB mistakenly taking a knee instead of spiking the ball at WO-S that cost the Tigers a win. Silsbee had the ball at the Mustang 1 yard line with the clock winding down, score tied 7-7, and instead of spiking the ball, the young man took a knee and time expired due to Silsbee not having in timeouts left. WO-S ended up winning the game in OT, 14-7. That was in 2008. I know for a fact the Silsbee coaching staff was telling the QB to spike it. Was quite clear from our broadcast booth. Saw several giving the signal to do so. QB just got confused. It happens. I don't know that the QB was confused in this case but it's very possible. I just don't think you can automatically blame the coaches on that situation. Sounds like there are other things that cost WO-S this game, not just the kneel down. tvc184 1 Quote

I brought that up to a guy that I was sitting with tonight when it happened, If I remember correctly, WOS had not lost a district game or championship since dropping down. That game would have been WOS first district loss and given Silsbee the championship. But…. maybe my memory is fading, especially since I don’t follow either team. Quote

You've seen these same mistakes on the sidelines in person too. Difference is Silsbee staff would have worked to make sure it wasnt a continual problem. Not saying stop clock has been a problem for us in past. But many things continue to be. I hope u still see them as a district champion? I wish i had a new magic crystal ball. This old thing from 1986... that was the year Quote
