FALCONS2026 Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 I think it'll be very competitive, but gun to my head i would say Huffman & LCM are a coin toss at 1 and 2 followed by Lumberton and either Hardin Jefferson or BC at the 4th spot. Quote
89Falcon Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 If Huffman does not win the district, it will be a major shock and disappointment considering the current SR class. Quote

WOSdrummer99 Posted July 12 Report Posted July 12 BC potentially has the pieces to get it done. They do need a QB and I dont think they lost too many seniors that were impact players. But I agree HH and LCM should be the favorites heading into the season. Lum @ BC is already penciled in on my weekly schedule. Love the atmosphere at Larry Ward and some of the best concession stand food in the area. Quote
setxathlete14 Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 I think bc may have to revamp their offense around their best player. Will they? Who knows. Lcm has their tandem qb/wr back. I think lumberton getting slept on over BC in my opinion. Bc losing their qb is much bigger impact than most are looking at. Lcm/huffman Lumb./vidor Bc Silsbee92 1 Quote
AverageJoe86 Posted July 27 Report Posted July 27 Who do we expect to take the biggest step back in terms of talent? Is there a sleeper team that we should look out for? I think Huffman/LCM are definitely the favorites BC/Lumberton/Vidor are in Tier 2 HJ/Liberty/Livingston will all have to show something early to prove that they have a chance to compete. Best thing about high school football...someone always overachieves and comes out of nowhere! AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
BBfan061 Posted July 28 Report Posted July 28 I think HJ will be improved… not sure if it’s enough for a playoff spot but better than they have been Quote
The Lake Posted July 29 Report Posted July 29 Huffman, LCM, BC, HJ Being a little biased with HJ at 4 but I think they will be improved. This district always seems super competitive. Does anyone in this district make it past the first round?? Matching up with district 9 from up north is brutal. Quote

Only time they have moved past round 1 was playing Palestine. When they have to play the Hisd schools first round they get swept by this district. Quote
Guitar Man Posted July 31 Report Posted July 31 1. Bridge City (BC has a solid defense returning. If the new QB can get the ball to his playmakers to compliment that brute in the backfield, and everyone stays healthy, look out) 2. LCM (LCM lost some great players on defense, but the offense should be in good shape. I do think BCs defense will keep this offense in check come October.) 3. Huffman (Graduated Sawyer Jameson and that giant TE/DE #0. Curious to see how they reload. Should still be competitive) 4. Lumberton or HJ (HJ is well coached and they have some good athletes that should make some noise this season. I also got my eyes on that QB from Lumberton. Kid throws a good ball and I feel Lumberton's season was a wash after he got hurt early last year.) I don't know enough about Vidor, Livingston, or Liberty to make a prediction. Good Luck to all our local teams! Quote

Good Luck to all our local teams! Not very well thought out. Huffman returns nearly the entire team, and the SR class is loaded. Will be the best Huffman team in recent memory. There is no "reload", Huffman is "fully loaded". gogo173489 and Tiger33 2 Quote

BBfan061 Posted August 1 Report Posted August 1 I feel like the 4th spot is up for grabs between HJ, Lumberton, Vidor, Liberty, or Livingston. Probably not a ton of separation between those teams. I think there is a decent gap between Huffman, LCM, Bridge City and the teams I mentioned first. Quote

Good Luck to all our local teams! LCM has two returning starters on offense, albeit including the 2 star WR on the outside. The entire O-line has zero starts from last year, and the RB is pretty shifty but injury/fumble prone. All the rest are new to their respective positions with limited PT. They played well as a group coming up through Jr. High and freshman years, so there's potential with the minimal amount of experience. The defense also lost all but 4 starters so they're pretty limited on experience especially in the LB group with no returners. They're going to have to play a couple of key offensive starters both ways IMO to be competitive. That includes the QB/WR starters. Having high hopes for the group, but it's going to be tough to replace the 14 all district players from last year. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
