  1. Very possible but it's not always the case. 2 years ago the RB from Huffman got MVP and Huffman finished 2nd in district. Huffman QB won it back to back years it 2020 and 2021 from a 2nd and 4th place position so it definitely happens.
  2. I didn't see that game, but I'll play along. Who in the district has put together a better argument for MVP? I know he averaged 300 rushing yards a game over a 3 game stretch. I doubt there's many that can compare to those numbers.
  3. It's hard to get district MVP from a 3rd place team but don't get it twisted Huffman's RB (Bacon) is the best player in the district. Having said that it wouldn't shock me at all to see LCM QB get MVP and Bacon get Offensive player of the year.
  4. Not sure how you think it works but here are the actual numbers. Lumberton 1193 Huffman 1168 Vidor 1170 Livingston 1107 LCM 996 BC 892 Liberty 757
  5. I guess I can see why people would think we would get a lot of move-ins from those surrounding areas and to be fair there are a few, but I can't imagine it's substantially more than the other schools in the district. Like all school in this district, we have our good years and our bad years. If we had this never ending pool of talent I don't we would have gone 3-7 and then 1-9 only to turn around and go 9-1 and 7-3 the next two years with the exact same coaching staff. Anyways I was just curious why everyone thought that when we clearly aren't lining up with a squad of athletes year end and year out.
  6. I know an entire community who will debate you all day long. I can throw a rock twice from my house and hit the Liberty County line. Are we in Harris County? Yes. Would anyone from Huffman claim to be a Houston area school? Hell no. They'd probably be fighting mad lol. Most folks here live on a minimum of 2-3 acres. That's about as far from "Houston" as it gets. I still haven't heard an explanation as to why this means Huffman should dominate the district in football. But I am genuinely curious to hear it. I look forward to picking the explanation apart.
  7. I've just sat back and laughed at most of this thread but since this is the 2nd or 3rd time I've heard this mentioned, can you please explain how Huffman is a "Houston school"? Like what does that even mean and specifically how should that directly translate to having a better football team?
  8. I heard he got his ankle rolled up on
  9. Yeah that was pretty bad. The ref that spotted the ball even initially called it a first down.
  10. Huffman's RB Bacon went off. I'm curious how many yards he finished with. It sure felt like 300. Kid has a legitimate shot at district MVP.
  11. 3 first half turnovers for Huffman. RB Bacon left with an ankle injury midway through the 2nd hopefully he returns. He probably had 150ish yards in first half. LCM had some good plays setup but the QB was just a little off on a couple of throws. Should be a good 2nd half.
  12. At this rate Bacon is gonna have 500 yards rushing. Already has a 45 yard and 35 yard TD
  13. Huffman gets the ball first. Scores on a 35 yd TD run from Bacon.
  14. This is weak as hell. Show how good you are against your district. Running up the score on a team like this is the most HJ thing ever
  15. To be fair they did pressure West Fork's punter into a terrible punt and recover a squib kick.....just saying lol
  16. I watched this scrimmage last night. A couple of things stood out. Above all else, HF has a really good QB. He made lots of big time throws. The next thing that stood out was that Huffman did not give many reps to their top weapons. The RB Bacon (has an offer from Lamar) only had about 3 carries one of which was a 70 yd sprint to the end zone. His younger brother that plays WR (has offers from at least 4 D1 schools) played limited reps as well. They are a totally different team when they are on the field. When they weren't, it looked sloppy. HF got the best of Huffman's starters, but the backups really got beat bad. At least 4 of those TDs were against them. I'm curious to see how it looks when it's for real.
  17. Great job on the podcast. Which two kids are y'all talking about for shepherd's defensive line?
  18. Huffman should have a good offense but the defense is a big question mark. Their defense was below average last year but opportunistic. They lost TEN starters on defense. They will have some good back end guys but the front 7 is completely up in the air. I'm rooting for them but it seems like an uphill battle.
  19. How do you guys see this one playing out this year?
