Durn, reading those Raider stats is enough to drive a DC to drink.  Good teams can run or pass successfully.  Really good teams can do both, and that’s the Raiders.  Long, time eating drives culminating in a score is a must for the Pirates.  I seriously doubt we can stop their offense, so “keepaway” is a must, plus a few breaks - fumbles or maybe a pick.  Simply put, Vidor will have to outscore them - Don’t see a defensive struggle.

I would only caution the Raider Faithful to look at the opponents against whom they've been racking up the stats. I think they're doing awesome, but Vidor will be the first real test...

I know Splendora & Nacogodoches were cripples, but HF is solid & Tatum no slouch.  Don’t try & soft soap the Raiders accomplishments.  You ain’t fooling & old fooler.  Vidor will have to play mistake free football to even have a remote chance.  For example, Ltown could give up 2 turnovers & still have a shot of winning.  If Vidor is minus 2 in turnovers, it’s over - Ltown probably wins easy.  That was their demise in the first 3 games & the key to the 3 wins.

Play mistake free ball again Pirates and you might win this thing.

I will say while we've had a few inopportune interceptions I honestly don't remember a lost fumble although it could have very well happened. Powell as a tendency to throw that occassional interception especially since he has a cannon for an arm and loves to use it. The defense has produced a few fumbles in a couple of games. We won't turn over the ball alot. If we can clean up our penalties we'll be extremely dangerous. Lumberton plays fast going no huddle most of the game and it is working for us.

I know it’s all about the matchups, but Lumberton beat HF who beat WOS.

Btw, if “Nah” is the best you got for a reply, I should just let this one go…

Not sure how/what the “nah” addresses.  I figure he’s saying Nah, Vidor couldn’t beat them (Tatum & HF), but I’m not sure.

You start off with shouldn’t compare scores but proceed to do that. If that’s the best you got I should just let this one go….

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
