Nederland 56 Beaumont West Brook 59/FINAL

Recommended Posts

  • AggiesAreWe changed the title to Nederland 56 Beaumont West Brook 59/FINAL

Imo over the last 15 years the majority of college basketball is more up tempo, full court fast paced, score alot of points, mix of man & zone defenses. With a few teams still playing the slow tempo, half court, low scoring, man to man only defense. NBA is all about up tempo, fast pace, high scoring, not much defense played of any type. Trust me only the players family & die hard Nederland fans that think English is the greatest coach in the history of basketball would buy a ticket to watch Nederland style of basketball played over a team like Bmt. United or Silsbee.

I’m all about results.  If the slowed down tempo wins games, I don’t have a problem with it.  And besides, you have to have the personnel to run up tempo fast pace basketball.  Do Nederland have the personnel to do it?  I don’t know.  I have not seen them this year.  But basketball is a beautiful sport. I’ve seen some slowed down basketball worked to perfection.  Ever see Atascocita play?  They work their motion half court offense To perfection.

Nederland might not have the players but KF likes that up tempo game of Silsbee like they played against United. It is more exciting to lose by 30 than it is to lose by 3.

In Coach English and Nederland problem is the Jimmy and Joes and not the X’s and O’s… you gotta play what gives you the best chance. Kinda like what TVC said.
