i heard there is some issues with funding........

The funding, like the projects are usually done in stages.  If they hadn't sold the bonds yet, then they have probably not slated for ALL of the renovations to occur at one time.  It doesn't mean they won't ever do it.

This. With the fact that the school district is doing the stadium in phases. This summer will be turf only. Because it doesn’t take much planning and time to install turf. While the other upgrades are getting drawn up and going through the next phase. With possible more upgrades to the stadium to be done because of the interest rates that the school district sold at the time and interest rates were in fact lower than projected.

So the dude you heard wrong.

They will get done.  It might not necessarily be this summer.

anytime they tell you they will get it done "later"  "later" never comes.

just ask woodville how much they like their turf baseball and softball field they were suppose to get that got scheduled for "later" .

or png about their new stands and locker rooms for the baseball field that was scheduled for "later" after the turf was done.

Is it going to be a bulldog or a "N" at mid field?

It will be a picture of a mud puddle, in a stirring reminder of and honor to the stadium's deeply rooted traditions. In the center will be placed a commemorative golden sprinkler, which will ceremonially water the turf before every game.

No issue with the stadium budget so far for the bond. The turf is a very straightforward project and it didn’t make sense to hold it up and not let our 2021 class enjoy it just because the bathrooms, press box, seating, etc. weren’t ready to go. We’ll circle back once the other drawings are complete and work it in around spring sports. The remaining portion of the stadium bond should be completed for the 2021-2022 school year. Heavy focus right now is Elementary Schools and NHS design which includes a state of the art CTE wing. Middle schools to follow.

My cell is 409-719-7042. Give me a call when you’re concerned about deliverables or budget. If it’s a real concern, I’ll at least tell you what I know in lieu of speculation. So far, no issues with stadium portion of bond. Just can’t fit the design and construction of press box, bathrooms, seating, etc. in before Fall 2020 season. No need to rush it OR hold out on turf installation. So many programs get to benefit by moving forward with the turf - our huge 300+ band, twirlers, flags, cheer, and westernaires won’t have to stay in the stands just because it’s a mud pit on the field. These groups put hours and hours in. Thankful they’ll get to showcase their talents too.

Micah a lot of the folks on here forget about the others who work so hard for Friday nights and even those in other sports who will benefit from the lack of mud.

They also forget that this is all being run by a school district which is a State Governmental entity. We know how efficient that is...

Would it be possible to work on the bathrooms while the turf is going in?  It would be nice to see those done before the start of the season.

    • The locals have almost finished firing the first ever Speaker of the House from Southeast Texas upon direct order of Trump and his minions.   It's a sad day... Locals have decided that being represented by the most powerful man in the House didn't mean anything.... they'd rather a political novice to represent this part of SETX.  And why is that?  He wasn't MAGA enough for them.  Who cares that it will hurt locally... What Trump says, goes.     Just yesterday I saw Trump on television demanding that we fire Phelan... How he's a RINO, weak on the border, etc... why?  Because he wouldn't overlook the criminal actions done by Ken Paxton, one of Trump's key supporters in the effort to overturn the 2020 Election and allow Trump to remain in office despite the will of the voters.   Trump never even mentioned Covey's name, and I doubt he would recognize Covey if Covey walked up with a cup of coffee.  Who cares that it's bad for SETX?  Not the R voters from SETX!   Then I saw Covey's preacher on a different ad tell a bald face lie.  Why should Phelan be fired?  "He put Democrats in positions of power in the House."  Really?  That's been the position of BOTH parties for as long as anybody can remember.  They ALWAYS give the minority party committee chairmanships.  But in 2022 the Rs decided that the practice should stop.  Democrat voters should not be allowed a voice in the crafting of legislation if there is a single majority Republican seat in the House, according to the Rs.  Representative Government?  Never heard of it, huh? Never did I believe that we'd have an abortion ban, constitutional carry, huge cuts for school property taxes, and Texas law enforcement being greenlit to enforce immigration law.  But it all happened while Phelan was speaker.  Without a doubt, the most conservative Speaker, ever.  But still a dirty RINO for not being MAGA enough.  It would be funny if it weren't true.   I've been following politics long enough to remember when Rs couldn't get elected in Texas... I'm confident that we're headed back that direction.  I mean, it's obvious that with population shifts we'll be turning blue eventually.  I think that the behavior of the leadership of the Republican Party is going to cause that shift sooner than expected.  I won't be surprised to see Democrat Senators and possibly even a governor elected within 12 years.  Maybe less.  The Rs will be a party apparatus without a voting base behind them.
