Some times you have upset weeks for a lot of teams in the top 10 from what I understand center lost to Carthage tonight rivalry week for a lot of teams it’s hard to beat these teams in on the road but the tigers never panic they took care of business at the end and won the game this was good work for both teams good luck for both teams down the stretch.

My first wild overemotional, irrational thoughts were pretty much along these lines....  Yates is going to eviscerate us....  if we even get to Region..... it's not going to be pretty....  we don't have a prayer......  who are we kidding.......

But I need to just STOP IT!  Calm down, take a deep breath.  What have I told myself about managing expectations?   Come on dude, have a little faith.

Plus it's not fair to the kids from Orange who deserve a lot of credit too.  What are they, chopped liver or something?  They played a whale of a game against the No. 2 ranked team.

Okay, I'm better now.....

(but the bad me remembers that we blew WOS out last year at their gym 102 - 57 and still thinks WE'RE DOOMED!!!  )

Very good game tonight.  Enjoyed the atmosphere.  Hats off to wos they came to play and gave us all we wanted.  I am pretty sure this was the fastest team we have faced this year.  And they took advantage, like we usually do.  When we celebrated or just took too long getting back on defense they beat us down court and took advantage of it.   We definitely didnt have a defensive night like I saw at HJ.  Bright spot was that we kept our composure, stuck together and got the win. Jordyn had a great first half, enjoying seeing him driving to the basket or hitting those pull up jumpers.  Just have to keep working and improve on our weaknesses.

WOS played Silsbee tough at home last year. Adams and McCain didn't play that game, but Silsbee had more depth to make up for it last year too.

That this was a game shouldn't have been a big surprise.

The first game was a blowout 102-57 and the second game was a comfortable win 103-78.  Don't know which was played where but neither was close.  So the optimistic me says it's obvious that WOS is simply better than they were last year.  The pessimistic me is worried, as usual.

    • but will he be doing contact football drills mid-season?
    • That was an awesome video!  I feel so proud of these young men.  They proved the doubters wrong.  Bellville should be proud, too.  I know it didn't end like they had hoped, but we've been there, so we can definitely empathize with them.  Great season, Brahmas!
    • Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.
    • Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.
