Because I'm not a coward like coach Klein I'm going with the Broncos tonight. I don't understand how one could be from Dayton I take it and not fully support our program. Rrrrrrggggggg, you need to walk the plank coach klein.

So what is CoachKlein's opinion?  If you think your team is going to lose it doesn't mean you don't support them.  It means you are a realist.

Just as frustrated as the rest and no plank to walk. I see the talent we have an know that our kids are much better than what our record shows. I also know that with growth of young kids comes growing pains. I do suport the broncos that ia why i buy a ticket and go yo every game. So if my opinion of our program is different than yours and if that makes me a coward then so be it. Maybe i just see things that others cannot see.

At least you do not go around thinking your 2-8 or 3-7 team should be a 9-1 or 10-0 team.

There is an open door policy with Coach Nations and feel free to contact him by phone or via email to schedule your conference. At least that would be in private and all of our rivals wouldn't feed on your statements. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Since you have so many opinions I'm sure he would appreciate the knowledge and assistance.

Correct me if I am wrong but arent most JV's made up of the Jr's and Soph's not ready to be on varsity. All the varsity ready players are on Varsity playing.

Typically.  Might different in Dayton

Although I do agree with you about our kids being talented, because I do see the potential and have for 7 or 8 years, since little league. I just support the Broncos win or lose, and think Coach Nations was the right man for the job, and I also know the transition period for a new coach sometimes isn't immediate. I'm a competitor though, I never went into a competition expecting to lose, because you always have that 50% chance. Sometimes you gotta take that and run with it.

I am pretty sure you have coached at some point in your life and the last thing you did was listen to some parent onvthe side line. But if it helps get the w i will certainly give it a try.

JV success has nothing to do with Friday nights especially when sophomores on other teams are contributing on Fridays.

Believe me, we have more than the 5-6 sophomores on varsity right now that could play on that level, but we also have 36 seniors that make up a 52+ player roster. But we have two more years after this to contribute on the varsity level. I'm not worried about the next couple years for us, I know we will re-surface as that feared Bronco squad we have been.

Exactly what every head coach wants.

Feel free. Before the school year we had a parents meeting and Nations made the statement then and believe me, the man is a man of his words.

I like both teams but it's also a rivalry game and I going to have to go with Dayton in this one it's going to be a low scoring game

It could be 2-0 Dayton and I'll gladly take it, but both of our teams are not exactly what Dave Campbell magazine stated back in the summer. But I know we can win this one.

    • If there's a specific situation that started this thread, I don't know the details.  Nor do I care.  But I do have an opinion about what I'm gathering from some of the comments. My opinion: I do believe that an AD should leave the players of a particular sport to their respective head coach during that season.  The varsity players of that sport anyway.  I believe it's a little different concerning the sub varsity players of that sport.  If an AD/HFC decides to grab some JV baseball players for some offseason football stuff during the athletics period, I don't have AS MUCH of a problem with it.  I would still consider it a common courtesy to discuss with the head coach of that particular sport to consider their thoughts on it. I also believe that ALL athletes should be lifting and running all year.  When in a particular season, I believe that the head coach of that sport should control the reigns on that topic to implement some sport specific lifting/running during their season.  But all athletes should be in the weight room year round. As far as playing multiple sports?  I'm an advocate.  I know that the popular idea is for potentially good/great players in a specific sport to "focus" on that sport.  And I agree.. but focusing on one sport doesn't mean stopping the others.  It just means prioritizing time in a way that extra work is put into that specific sport.  After hours, weekends, holidays/summer, etc..  Just because you plan on making a push into college baseball (for example) doesn't mean you can't work on baseball during other sports seasons.  That's exactly what I did.. and countless others.  Plus, it's important to maybe learn how to be a role player in a sport that you're not the best at.  Because that's coming. That's my opinion.  And I come from an era where kids played multiple sports if they knew it would be helping.  Helping their classmates.. or just contributing to school pride.  I hate knowing that there are schools that could be much more competitive if their kids would just come out.  It's hard for me to understand if I'm being honest.
    • I wasn't arguing the point of how an AD keeps his job. The question was "what has happened to Jasper" as in their whole athletic department. They were much much better in those other sports even when football was successful. Not anymore. Something definitely has changed.
    • I just don't think it's as big an issue as what's being discussed. My opinion.
    • It's common knowledge that this sort of thing happens on ranches, out in the country, etc.  I'd be willing to bet that a good number of people who participate in this forum have had to do something similar. That said, she's an absolute moron for putting it in a book, period.  The act of killing the dog can be justified, especially for those of us familiar with how life on a ranch/farm works,  but publicizing it is inexcusable for someone in her position.  I honestly have no clue what she was thinking.  60% percent of the country already doesn't like trump, and now his most likely running mate has a major controversy over killing a dog.  Pure stupidity.
    • There are times when certain things are appropriate, and when they are not.  We can agree to disagree on the appropriateness of star baseball players doing contact football drills in the days leading up the baseball playoffs.
