Beaumont Central 28 Lumberton 21/Final

3rd quarter against the wind, Central threw 2 sideways passes cross wind which ended up in turnovers.  Whaley is getting 4-8 yards a pop and the OC insist on throwing the ball.  SMDH......  That's why I said and will continue you to say, Lumberton had no business being in the game......

no, no, no.... Run him until the game is over... Every play, Wild Jag.... I like the odds. 80% success rate.. Offensive Coordinators dream......lol

They practiced some Wild Jag plays this week with him but they never really were in a situation to use them, I guess...at least 30 touches a game.

This is just absurd. I was able to listen to the broadcast for pretty much the entire 4th quarter. To say this game was played in Beaumont at the Butch Stadium and also Central's homecoming, THESE COMMENTATORS WERE ONE SIDED. So many times we have school like Central getting dissed like this in an indirect manner. I heard more about stats on Lumberton players than I did Central players. I hear about how many yards the Lumberton player earned, who he was, who his blocker was, etc. But Central doesn't get the same type of respect. The only thing they got credit for I heard was the no call on the horse collar.  It really does seem like these controversial area refs are out to get some schools. It's been going on since I've been in school over ten years ago. That's why I love the way that teams like Central win even when the odds and calls are stacked against them. It makes it that much sweeter baby! Great game Raiders and Jags. Your players played their butts off

Actually 409 the commentators stayed right on top Whaleys stats even calling out his average per gain which by the 4th quarter had gotten into the 6 yard range.

I'm really close to #54 and his family and I called his mom on the way home and he has an appointment Monday to see what is wrong with his shoulder =/ Makes me sad

any word on Sykes #82?... I hate seeing people go down with a knee injury, that could be really bad. A huge loss for us if he is out

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
