Lumberton 51 Beaumont Ozen 29/Final

I completely disagree.......

Like I told my PEEWEE football players whenI used to coach........if you let a Ref decide the outcome of a game, you were never good enough to win the game to begin with.

This statement isn't necessarily correct. Sometimes a bad call can determine a game it happens all the time. Yes you should teach your team that worrying about the refs won't help so you may as well play harder so that their calls don't have to determine the outcome.

SmashMouth if you read all of my statements you would realize that I said no matter if Lumberton had the home cooking they whipped our butts. They were more physical and made more plays when needed. Yes i was there and have 2 sons that start on Ozen's defense and i said to them that they were not physical enough. One left the game due to a knee injury and plays tough every play and was held at least 3 times on video and it wasn't called. The other played corner and received the holding call that brought back a long gain for Lumberton but was held a few more times that wasn't called. I tell them to get off the blocks anyway. No one will post the penalty advantage Lumberton had which helped demoralize kids moral but still all and all it was Lumbertons night! Not excuses merely facts. Lumberton should be fine and i did mention all those things you mentioned about Ozen it was just a bit subtle.

1. I've never a defensive player that didn't think he was being held on every play

2. Like I said before the game,  the less -disciplined team always complains about the refs the most.

3. When our players commit fouls, the coaches and fans holler at the players. When your players commit fouls, your coaches and fans holler at the ref. It's called a victim mentality.

Hope your son recovers from his injury and they both have an awesome high school football career. I have no doubt there were bad calls. I played high school and college ball, and I have coached all the way through the high school varsity ranks. I have seen PLENTY both for and against my teams. I just don't want there to be a footnote as to why the Raiders won regarding calls. If you want to add a footnote, say something about Ozens poor coaching, which has way more to do with the loss more than anything. And instead of being demoralized by the crappy calls, hopefully the coaches will teach the boys to make the adversity drive them harder instead like it sounds like you have with your sons. Good luck.

Thanks and you are correct because it always falls back on the coaches whether they have the right personnel in place or offensive or defensive plan. It's crazy but one brother was blocked into the other and he received that injury. Hopefully it's just bruised and he'll be able to return especially since he missed most all of his Jr. year with a thumb injury. I don't know why they don't use the other who is learning to play corner, on offense some because everyone around except the coaches know he's a big offensive threat with the ball and blocks well. #18 should be utilized more but hey i'm not the coach and we will just ride the ship. Baseball is life for some of these kids anyway but they will compete for their school anyway they can. The more physical, better prepared and performers won that night. Good Luck to those Raiders!

Sounds good when you're the team that's getting the home cooked meal! I hope you guys never get to wear these shoes and have a successful season. I just don't ever feel that any team is perfect and that film don't lie!

wow he should have 25 offers!

BG why don't you start a topic on the best back in the area, and list there offers that way we can show the colleges coaches who knows best, lol

who said anything goes about college offers, should I -read it back to you.  Why don't we just hand out all-state honors off who has the most D1 offers and not play the games?  I would not want a HS rb right now other than Austin Krautz.  I'll stand by that statement and we'll just let em play the games and see if he's not one of the top all around during offensive weapons when all is said and done.

So you wouldn't want a player that's faster, has soft hands for catching, bigger, and stronger than Krautz?  If you wouldn't, then you're just being biased.

That's like saying that you'd prefer Labaron (sp) instead of the Hurts kid from Channelview....

Hurts proved he can lead a team to the playoffs yet? Just saying.

I'm not a college scout, I watch lots of HS football.  I never, ever mentioned LeBaron in the same discussion as Hurts, but Krautz is more dangerous than Whaley in Nederland offense because of how Nederland uses him in the passing game.  If we had Whaley in Nederland, odds are Krautz would be playing CB/Safety, and WR.  But he aint, so my opinion hasn't changed.  And that doesn't mean I think Charlie should pull Whaleys offer for Krautz, that would be ridiculous.  If you don't follow the logic of this post, I can't help it.

I'm talking talking about individual talents.  SUPERIOR individual talents.  You'd take Hurts in a New York minute in PA over lil Harrison....  If you say you wouldn't, then you are just lying to yourself....

of course, but has Hurts led his team to the playoffs? Yes or no?

I can't argue that.  My only question is why PNG fans haven't hopped on this thread...  falling down on the job.  This is one of their favorites, has nothing going to do with them.

probably wondering why they got beat by some lil boys who got an arse beating last night at Stallworth.

Why ask a question you know the answer to.  More so, why ask a question that you know I know the answer to?  Also, what relevance is this to our debate?

you the one opened up that mouth. Gotta feeling Lumberton gonna shut it, and Ozen gonna nail it closed in a couple weeks.

    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
