  1. 1. What are some additional sub forums you would like to see added?

I really think the point has been missed. Before the crash their was little to no activity on the soccer forum, mostly no activity. No schedules, no game, no scores, no standings. That means nobody would come on here and post anything. If you come on here to read what was going on and not see anything, why not post something. If y'all want a thread then by all means start posting. Hey I love soccer, coached it for years, now I come here to find scores and nothing. I think the more activity we get the more apt they are to get a forum.

OK... so what I"m saying is that in the other forums that are PREFERRED, the admins organize and build a following. They do all kinds of previews, histories, schedules, etc. I loved the soccer forum, popped in often to check scores. I do agree no one updated it.  b

You don't have to be a admin/mod to "organize and build a following". Any member can post previews, histories, schedules, etc.

What's funny is that the only soccer talk that's been on the site since we came back from server crash is the complaints about not having a separate soccer forum. If soccer is so popular and so important and has such a huge following, why hasn't there been any threads posted in this new forum about soccer games, standings, schedules and so forth?

How about show the owner why there should be a soccer forum and not lumped in here with the other sports?

BTW, we have a mod who is a huge soccer fan. bullets13

1.  The soccer season was just getting started when the server crashed so there wasn't much to talk about yet.

2.  You act as if it would cost the owner more money to split off into a separate forum.  So what if there isn't much traffic.  Explain the reasoning behind that logic please.  If you haven't noticed, there have been a lot of views since this thread started less than a week ago.  I don't understand your reluctance.

To get the site back up as soon as possible, the owner decided to consolidate some sports into one forum to help with the database and the policing of the site. He also wanted to see from  the traffic and interest level, what sports could be separated into their own forums.

So far, only complaints have been posted. No one has bothered to post threads about the games, or post any schedules or district standings. That's the stuff he wants to see.

I can tell you that the complaining is a big turn off to him. Show him why soccer needs it's own forum.

I don't understand why y'all can't post scores , stats, records and such on this forum?? Why do y'all need a forum just for soccer?? I mean seriously.

Why does any sport needs its own forum? Why would you show preference to one over the other? Football obviously is the big dog. Other than that basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, track, baseball, are all secondary sports in tx. To me it propagates the mentality in our culture that you are better than others if you play certain sports or activities over another. Typical Friday night lights hs sport fan mentality. Sad...

The owner? If the owner does not know the amount of traffic the soccer forum had before the nth rebuild of this site, I can understand why it keeps going down. So, in reality, the owner is just playing a little game to see how whiny those who frequent the soccer can be for hos kicks. Otherwise, the OWNER would simply add the requested forum (which was there before the crash).

Fox. You are probably one of the those people who think football is the only sport and America is the middle of the earth which is flat....
If this website wants to survive it needs fans of every sport not just football...

    • I think this whole discussion is getting overly hyped. My son played 3 sports and went on to play college football (still in school). I played 4 sports and went on to play college football. Neither of us (separated by 30+ years) got anything but support from our respective AD's and coaches.
    • ADs don't allow them to do school baseball drills in the middle of football season, though.  so the double standard is still there.
    • "AD's don't allow them to play"  that's false.  I've watched many of fall ball games and I can name 3 or 4 SETX teams that had football players on the team.
    • I would not say NO ONE REALLY CARES WHAT HAPPENS WITH BASEBALL.. All you have to do is go to Ford Park every weekend and look at how much money parents pour into baseball.. lol I get what you are saying.. but look at it from this point of view... WINS look good on resume correct? Would a AD do better if he has all his multi-sport kids stay in his program? Again they are usually the more athletic kid. Is his actions driving away the more athletic kids to "concentrate on one sport"? Sometimes more is not better.. Kids get burned out really quick if they believe their AD/Coach does not care about their personal athletic dreams and desires.  Like I said.. a Good AD knows how to navigate this issue.
    • Never understood why you can't be good at all 4 major sports. If you are talented enough, and athletic enough to be a Regional Finalist football team, then you would think you would be athletic enough to at least be competitive in basketball. If you wanted to be...... And as big a baseball town as Jasper is, where did that tradition go? Where are those kids now?
