Fans, Members, Contributors of SETXsports,

Let me start by apologizing to everyone for the recent site issues we've been having. I can assure you that myself and the SETXsports Staff members are as frustrated as you are about the issues we have been having with our site. We have been working diligently to see that this problem gets fixed, but as of yet, we have not been able to even figure out what the problem is. Our server company too is puzzled as to why we keep having issues with our site, and we look to them to be the experts. We are disappointed with their inability to help us solve these issues, and will most likely be moving to a new server and a new company, very quickly. At this point, that's all we know to do.

We understand that things are picking up around here as football season is almost here, and it is a top priority for us to have these issues solved rapidly. I ask that you please continue to bare with us as we get all of this worked out. Be aware that until we resolve all of these issues, the site could go down and we could continue to lose some data.

There's nothing I hate more than to lose your posts and conversations. What your looking at right now is a restoration of a backup from July 21st, so anything that was posted after that point, we have lost. Even our backup processes have gone haywire. We back the site up a couple times every night, and apparently since July 22nd, our backup process on our server have not been working correctly. Again, this is not our responsibility to ensure this is functioning properly, it is the server company's.

My plan is to initiate this server change possibly this weekend. We will keep you posted as to our plans. It is not a matter of if this will all get fixed, it's a matter of when. We can't tell you how much we appreciate all of your patience with us. I promise you we will get this thing fixed, and we'll be the SETXsports your used too very soon

I think we are being sabotaged by a competitor... I think someone who is trying to steal our thoughts is corrupting our servers so that we have to use theirs... I for one will now be wearing my NSA approved Tin Foil Captains Hat, so that my thoughts won't be stolen and sold to the aliens that live among us!!! ...

and if you send me $30 plus shipping and handling ($19.95) I can make one for you to protect you from these evil doers that have infiltrated our server world...

After reading Mr. Wilson's explanation regarding 'servers' and 'back-ups', I thought I was in a time warp - back to 2000. And the answer is yes, you need to find a new service provider if your business is relying on scheduled data back-ups.

Now days we use blades arrayed in clusters that replicate real-time. These clusters use what's called 'Virtual Machines' that connect to other VM's both onsite and offsite. Data is replicated in more than one location for obvious reasons. <FIRE>. Secondary VM monitors the health of the primary VM and in case of a failure, the secondary takes over in milliseconds. Tech gets the alarm, yanks out the bad unit and slips in a new one in the rack and re-images it. User never knows what happened.

Data farms that provide these services are very cheap considering what they provide. They charge based on activity so you don't have to be Chase Bank to afford it. Just saying...

The Tin Foil has to be of a certain type and has to have a certain type of powder on it to make it useful... so if your tin foil doesnt have these two elements... your going to get zapped anyways... so you might as well send me the money so i can send you the proper tin foil... :>)

You can PM me and we can set up a meet... as I do not want to allow the probes to be able to get a triangulation on my where abouts..... right now I am routing through at least 50 servers/modems to get on here to keep them from finding me.... I have done well so far.... :-D
