  1. Saw this on another thread Lumberton The Raiders are poised for a leap forward in 2022 with 15 starters returning from a playoff squad. The offense has plenty of firepower with the return of QB Powell (2,552 yards, 25 TDs passing; 10 TDs rushing), WR Fuselier (19-434, 7 TDs receiving) and RB Jaddon Ward (981 yards, 12 TDs rushing). The defense doesn’t lack playmakers with the return of LB Morgan (82 tackles, 2 sacks) and DE Jackson (74 tackles, 16 TFL, 4 sacks). 2021 Results- 6-5 Bi-District Finalist / 3-2 District Record Lettermen R/L- 26/22 Starters Returning- Offense- 8 Defense- 7 Impact Players QB- Lucas Powell 5-10, 175, 4.6- 40yd speed RB- Jaddon Ward 5-8, 210, 4.8- 40yd speed LB- Jared Morgan 6-0, 185, 4.8- 40yd speed OL- Gabe Hernandez 6-3, 265- 40yd speed DE Brock Jackson 6-4, 225, 4.6- 40yd speed WR- Brady Fuselier 6-3, 180, 4.6- 40yd speed DB- Carson Rea 5-11, 175, 4.6- 40yd speed WR Trey Kersh 5-8, 165, 4.6- 40yd speed DL- Grayden Spencer 6-3, 255, 4.9- 40yd speed Top Prospects WR Kaleb Koch, DB Broc Bonner, OL Johnathan Lamberth, OL Nick Woodland.
  2. Well, if I answer as my favorite player, it has to be my son, Jaddon Ward #20 RB for LR. 2 more years and I’m done and it sux. 2nd now is Silsbee’s Drelon Miller. Great athlete, great kid, and competitor. Prayers for a healthy season for all of our SETX athletes. Hook’em
  3. Hardin got a good one. Fiery, passionate, energetic coach. Lumberton will miss him. Hardin kids will love him! Will be rooting for the Hornets.
  4. Got a nice little 45 min 7v7 workout in with the Tigers yesterday @ Raider stadium. Both passing games looked impressive.
  5. Awesome! Happy for the the student athletes, drill team, cheerleaders, and band members of Silsbee. Will be something for the whole community to be proud of. Everyone benefits.
  6. Lumberton growth demographics show a lot of younger families with younger kids in some of the newer subdivisions while other newer subdivisions indicate older demographics that have retired or kids are college aged. They will eventually hit high school in a few years and thus thrust Lumberton back into 5A.
  7. Both play a part. Can't lay the blame on just 1. I would even say 1/3-1/3-1/3 between admins, coaches, and players.
  8. I agree. Keep intact! Should be kept. I know that whenever my son's college team shows back up in August for team practices, they are not allowed to begin practicing with the team until they pass a conditioning test which is divided up by positions. Each position has a time to be under for various runs, gassers, and mile. Weight room so many reps of 185lbs (QB's/WR/DB's) or 225lbs (RBS/LBS/Line) depending on position. You are not allowed to practice until you pass. Being in shape prevents fatigue which helps prevent injuries. All about protecting the athletes. Those who move on will appreciate the conditioning learned in their HS programs and be prepared. Those who haven't experienced it in HS and get the chance to move on will be shocked.
  9. 2 years cause then I won't have a son playing anymore. I haven't thought out beyond that. But seems I might have to now cause I just found out I might have my other son starting a coaching career.
  10. I ain’t gonna lie to ya. I am very excited about the next 2 years.
  11. Whatever! The next 2 years should be interesting
  12. Lumberton 1)Hamshire Fannett 2)Houston St Thomas 3)Nacogdoches 4)Bridge City 5)Tatum
  13. I agree One Chance. My son played at Southwestern in Georgetown. Had a few D1 preferred walk ons, D2’s and D3’s. Picked southwestern because it was close to his girlfriend in college station @ A&M. Beautiful area and close to everything. Belton just north of Georgetown and Austin. Trinity in San Antonio and San Marcos right there.
  14. No I don't believe all should be. I just liked the process we went through. Once the right AD is in place, the trust is there for him to make his/her own coaching hires for the other sports. Once the right Supt is in place, who the community theoretically hires via voting the school board members into position, he/she is trusted for hires to each campus leadership. JMO on the AD/HFC position that sets the tone for the whole community in all sports and extra curriculars that relate to each sport. When an AD/HFC truly gets community, the whole district performs well and feeds off each other. For example, it was awesome how both LCM & LR athletics supported each schools band through their competitions even being around playoff time. Academics improve, school spirit/ pride improves, school attendance improves, etc. It is a partnership between all parties.
  15. I don't like the committee he talks of without some form of community representation. When Lumberton went through this process a year ago, the committee that was formed was made up of a few admins, local business leaders, and community rep. They were given a list of applicants to interview. They then interviewed, narrowed down the list to the final 4, and turned over recommendations to the supt. Supt interviewed each and then made his recommendation to the school board for approval. Community had some form of representation which is important.
