Man I get it, and I agree to a point, but I still think the only thing you're doing is polishing a turd. The "out of sight out of mind" approach is actually worse for them. Offer true help which is not only food and shelter, but jobs & healing as well. Employment programs, drug rehab, mental health assistance, even spiritual healing is needed if you truly want to give meaningful assistance.  That's not gonna happen by shoving them under the bed. Just my opinion.

This is equivalent to the immigration issues,,,,,,what do you do with ALL of them?

Upfront I don't have an answer to the homeless problem, but all in one place versus in my backyard sounds good to me.

I spent the weekend in Austin. We were near South Congress. We spent an afternoon "scootering" around the area/parks on these electric scooters.  (that is a blast BTW)....but the homeless was EVERYWHERE.  You could smell the urine in some locations. People sleeping everywhere.  Beaumont is no where near that, but they could be in near future.......

And people question why people are leaving Beaumont and populating these smaller surrounding towns.....

This was pointed out to me by an Assistant District Attorney when I went to detectives in about 1998. It is from the Code of Criminal Procedures in Chapter 2, Duties of Officers.

It shall be the primary duty of all prosecuting attorneys, including any special prosecutors, not to convict, but to see that justice is done. They shall not suppress facts or secrete witnesses capable of establishing the innocence of the accused.

“Justice” is in the eyes of the DA.

The DA’s duty is not to get convictions and not to prosecute “to the fullest extent of the law” or what is justice from the opinion of the victim.

At times we would send cases to the DA for review and it would be refused and returned “In the interest of Justice”. I translated that as, you proved the case detective but we don’t think this is worthy of prosecuting and only our opinion counts.

I have never been more wrong on any opinion in my life. wow

Boy bye. How much money of yours did I use? I guess the Trumps are bottom feeders because their PPP loan was forgiven

There seems to be a little confusion on these PPP loans. While I'm not an expert, I happen to know the qualifications of what it took to get the loans, and what they could be used for........I processed about 300 of these loans.

    1.  You could only receive 2.5% of your average monthly payroll cost.

    2.  If received the funds had to be spent in 24 weeks. If not spent, whatever is left would not be forgiven.

    3.  60% of those funds must be spent on payroll, the other 40% on rent/business mortgage and utilities. You cannot layoff or fire any employees and you needed to keep documentation of all payments.

So when applying, the business had to submit payroll records to calculate the 2.5. The cash businesses were negatively effected because they didn't have records.

Also, no where on the form did it ask which political party you supported.....

BigGirl, did you also notice it didn't pay the business owner unless he documented a paycheck?...., which most small business owners do not......

Simply put, the PPP loans paid the salaries of employees who would of been fired because the government forced business owners to shut down......and who's fault is that?   The Government

Tucker Carlson. The same man who detested Trump privately but was a minion in public (where he was paid a princely sum). Yeah, he’s gonna give us the truth.  Nixon’s dirty tricksters, led by Donald Segretti chased Muskie off, then sabotaged Sargent Shriver, effectively killing any chance McGovern had of even coming close.  Nixon was going to fight until Barry Goldwater went to the White House and told Nixon he could not get 60 votes in the Senate to avoid conviction.  Tucker Carlson never tells the truth. He manipulates opinions and treats them like facts. Where is he now, by the way?

He's probably celebrating the 264 million views his Trump interview received, or the 12.9 million views of his last interview.....or anticipating the number of views he gets interviewing the man who claims he had sex with Obama (after one hour, already at 4.3 million views.

It's OK you don't like Tucker, but insulting the man personally instead of addressing the subject of his interviews is typically what the extreme left does.

I've watched all of his interviews.....he's a journalist and ask questions......verus debating his guest like CNN......I have always thought journalist ask questions and political hacks posing as journalist debate their guest......am I wrong? Should Journalist argue points with peple they are interviewing?

yup, would love to see it.  Would also love to see driving tests implemented every 3-5 years once drivers hit a certain age.

When Dad hit 84 or 85, we were trying to get him to stop driving.  Around that same time his drivers license was up for renewal. We (his kids)  kind of celebrated in our head because we knew there was NO WAY he would pass the vision test, plus he was starting to struggle just simply walking.....but he was determined........

I'm not sure how he did it, but he passed and got his license renewed......to this day I think he memorized the eye chart or something.......

I agree with you but the test should be a actual driving test......

Nothing has nothing been proved against Biden, there’s not even been any evidence offered, yet he heads a “crime family”. No proof. No evidence. Yet guilty.. See your hypocrisy?

"I've never talked to my Son about his business deals"

UT, I'm not sure if you have kids, but I do, and I also had a father.  My Dad was the most supportive and best Dad anyone could ask for.  So, If Biden is the Father he claims, do you really believe he never asked his Son about his business ventures? My income and financial well being was always asked by my Dad. He wanted to make sure I was OK.  We all know Hunter was not OK.....You think Biden was silent watching his Kid spiral?

There is 5000 emails that Biden used alias email addresses.....

I think he lied, and people lie to cover things they don't want you to know.....so, to me, that along with 5000 emails, plus Hunters own admission his Father was sitting next to him during his business deals is plenty evidence to start an investigation.

Again. I more than paid off my loan. 50000 on a 27000 loan. Why would you have to pay anything?

You didn't more than paid off you loan, you simply paid off your loan.  The interest and agreement is there before you sign.

JUst like a credit card :

    • It would take someone more than 11 years to pay down a balance of $2,000 with a 20.99% APR while only making minimum payments. They would ultimately pay $4,456 — including $2,456 in interest — assuming no other fees.

I completely disagree with this.  I have no issue with anyone in the LGBTQ community, but have a major issue with political indoctrination of children.  Teachers and schools should be teaching students how to think, not what to think.  As a teacher myself, I would never ever consider bringing my politics into the classroom, or providing literature to students that pushes an agenda.  Any teacher who does so should be fired.  Any school board who encourages it should be disbanded.  There are certain issues that for various reasons that the school should stay out of, and let parents teach their kids.  This is one of them.

The left does not get it.....

I stand with you as far as the LGBTQ community.....

But they are forcing more and more parents to home school or send to private schools......they should take their tax money with them

    Both are correct.

Daily bonus points for the legal doctrine that generally (but not completely) covers an officer when taking the word of another officer.

    Google is allowed….

I read your last statement you posted with the conclusion, I understand. BUT:) ,  in a nutshell, wouldn't the officers be covered just like if a cop found me on the road beat up and I gave a description of a vehicle and description of folks that assaulted me?

You know, this is why blogs aren’t considered news.  This is nothing more than half-baked opinion. The transcript as printed did not show a statement saying “Trump should be in jail”. She said that fealty to one man, who happens to be still free, cost J6 defendants. Any judge who presided over so many cases of guilty people saying “Trump made me do it” might reasonably make the same observation. Think for yourself for once.

The mainstream media does not want anyone thinking for themselves unless they agree with it. If you start questioning things you get silenced, or charged (look at Trump). Think about the Russia hoax with Trump, Hunters laptop(the signed letter from ex cia agents), Covid lockdowns, Covid vaccines......that's just off the top of my head.....if you questioned any of those things you were labeled at minimum a conspiracy theorists.

One of America's core values is free speech. It does have a cost, you have to use your brain.

We shouldn't just take the media's word for anything and we certainly should not take the Governments word on anything. Both have been caught being very dishonest

A couple of weeks ago i got banned for five days because I hurt all of your feelings. I asked the mod why I was getting banned despite breaking no rules of the forum. He said “look, man… you’ve hurt all of our feelings over and over and we’re just going to call it “abuse” even though you didn’t break any of the terms of service. We’ve got to do something because they get upset that you just keep winning ALL of the exchanges. We’re actually banning you so we can get a break from the non-stop crying.”

This is an absolute lie if you are talking about me. I have the messages to prove it.

and specifically told you what you said for your suspension.

When your strategy as a party is to say "who cares about the popular vote?  We just need 270 Electoral College votes to win" you might get an election or two, but then the fact that the majority of voters don't like your candidates will lead to you sucking hind tit in every national election going forward.

No campaign runs on the popular vote. You won't see many visits to California from a Democrat because they already have the electoral votes.  In my example of popular votes, when you take out the two largest Democratic States, It's practically even on the popular vote. The popular vote does not win elections......which is why Democrats have moved South Carolina in front of New hampshire and Iowa......
