Federal district judges are the federal equivalent of a county felony judge in Texas. If you get indicted for a felony in Jefferson County, for example, you will go to trial in one of the three felony courts in Jefferson County in Beaumont. The district judge’s authority deals with a motion or a trial in front of that judge. The district judge is not an appeals court level but the trial court level.
The Supreme Court just issued a ruling that the universal (nationwide) injunction was beyond the authority of the federal district judges.
So when Trump or any future president issues an executive order or the DOJ tries to enforce a federal law, one of the trial court level federal district judges can’t with the stroke of a pen end the order or the law.
The case is Trump v. Casa about birthright citizenship. The ruling today has nothing to do with that case which still has to be hurt. What it seem to do was to stop the federal district judges for putting a nationwide halt to executive orders.
It seems like this has been brewing for a long time and the Supreme Court finally stepped in.
Also Justice Amy Coney Barrett blasted Justice Brown Jackson who dissented in the ruling. Her comment was that Brown Jackson: “Decries an imperial executive while embracing an imperial judiciary”.
This was a good ruling and fair.
Question, they are saying now they can do a "class action" and get the same result. Is that going to be more difficult to do?

It should appear quite obvious to anyone that the original post was to try to make it seem like this guy was the head of Homeland Security “terrorist prevention” as in, having some authority over the military, CIA and so on. I wonder how many people reading the opening comment believed that it was a person of some real authority and not a group of less than 20 people who coordinates to give out grants to non-profit private organizations and universities.

While all my children are grown, the Supreme Court gave Parents with children a huge win today as well as giving them some of their voice back.
It does not make any sense why this had to go this far. The school can teach whatever they want, and parents should have an option to opt out of something they don't agree with ad don't want their kid to be a part of.
Lots of wins for the Trump Administration as well!

Sounds like a class action lawsuit will have to be pursued. Very difficult. Makes it ‘seem’ SCOTUS is going back to the original intent of the 14th which applied to former slaves.
This is going to be fun to watch......

That is a tough one for me. This is a tragedy on both sides. Two kids lost their life,. One parent has to deal with never being able to see their son again. The other has to deal with seeing their Son probably spend the rest of his life in jail, or a significant portion of it in jail. Then also deal with the self guilt (admitted or not) that they raised a murderer.
I can't begin to imagine the pain in either case.

It needs to go back to the days when diesel was $1.00 or more cheaper than unleaded. I bought my first 3/4 diesel truck when it was that way.

If you didn't watch the news briefing this morning, a lot of information was shared. Here are the cliff notes.....
1. The leak about the bombing being unsuccessful was a low confidence report and was wrong.
2. A team of researchers have been studying and watching via satellite the construction of the Fordow since 2009, along with intelligence on the ground. They determined that they did not have a weapon that could penetrate it.
3. A team of scientist (PHD's) designed the Bunker buster bombs. At one time it was stated that team was using the majority of the "super computers" making the bomb. They were sent in a particular order all timed differently and each bomb had a specific job to do.
4. The mission was a huge success and Iran's nuclear program is toast.........

A talking head or two claims that there is nothing on the video showing self defense.
Without seeing it, it is impossible to know with the way the media spins things. Even seeing it might not be good enough to show the incident.
Anyway, for the moment there are claims that self defense won’t stand up in court.
I read all the police reports and based on that and his admissions, I don't see how you get to self defense after a simple push or shove or challenging someone to "try it" or "touch me and see" or whatever he said.
Do you know why the video is not being released? If I recall correctly, videos were released in Floyd and Rittenhouse.....and just about every police involved shooting.
