Worst - WOS Fans only get half a section and there is not a designated aisle, which makes it difficult for people to get around and the players chairs are against the bleachers. it just isn't easy for the elderly fans. Although the actual gym and space is nicer than HF.
Best- BC hands down. Nice seating, concession stand area with windows to watch the game. Silsbee has a nice gym, but you can't watch the game, if you want a drink or snack.

Leadership and tradition. Like the video showed, the players from 1991 have gone on to be successful off the court. Watching this video reminded me of how several of these men gave back to the community by being part of HJ after that season. Coach Sutherland came back as a Head Coach, Dr. Harrison was a Principal and Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Nolte coached before becoming Principal at HJ, Coach Davis came back as an Assistant Coach and is now leading the Hawks, and Dr. Holmes is currently the Superintendent at HJ. Not to mention that Dr. Isabell is a main supporter of the HJ Marathon. Many others on this team have gone on to be successful as well, just thought it was interesting how many came back and helped with the development of the program and school.

Best stat I heard tonight. HJ's group of senior basketball players (9 kids total) have a group GPA of 3.5! That's an incredible number and something to be really proud of. Keep that up and they will all be going places!
Great group of young men in so many ways. Great reflection of themselves, their parents, the school and the program,

Took a totally different path than Madison did a few years ago but Bridgeport made that move seem insignificant. UIL knew it was coming and didnt do anything about it. Dont care if there was a loophole or not. Disgraceful on all fronts.
Silsbee92, we agree on this.

If I didn't know any better, it almost appears that Hardin-Jefferson is running from Silsbee. That can't be, though, because they don't have anyone in a position of authority and the UIL would never do something like that. Oh well, I guess that rivalry is done. I don't see them agreeing to a game on their own.
You must be mistaken. HJ isn't scared and isn't running from Silsbee. They may not win all (1 out of last 3) but do not think they are scared or intimidated. The last 3 games (that this group of kids have been involved in) have been good competitive games for the fans to watch. So if you have gotten that from watching, you have missed out on some good basketball by 2 teams. Again, NOT SCARED!

Recruiting has changed so much. 25 years ago, coaches contacted you, scouted and actually recruited you (Some big time players still get this, but not the lesser known athletes). Now, the players are expected to reach out and contact coaches with social media and email to see if they have any interest. This concept is not easy for some athletes and parents to do (especially if you have grown up letting your game speak for itself, which I think fits Angel). He should be receiving offers, great player that does the big things on the court and just as importantly does the little things.

Let me give all yall a standing ovation clap clap clap now who gives a damn about them beating coldspring the rest of there team is nonexistent so I could care less to be honest and if that foxx guy is the best in the state congrats to him but don't knock that young man for being a Great basketball player and I can guarantee he will boogie any state ranked team whether the rest of the team doesn't follow now stick it
This is the problem with so many today, not caring about the team and working within the team instead of needing all the glory as an individual.
Let me guess, I can stick it too...

Either HJ should be very confident or Silsbee should be embarrassed with HJ only losing by 10 points since they only have 3 players going against 11 from Silsbee and one of the 3 missed more than 2/3 of the game.

It appears as though some Silsbee fans are disappointed with a win last night because they didn't win by a large enough margin. If they would have shot better, if they wouldn't have slowed it down, if whatever. Point is they won. It was a good game for true fans of the game, IMO (other than 2nd quarter). HJ had nothing to lose, they were not EXPECTED to win. Did they want to win, yes, but it didn't happen. Sillsbee's rank can't get any better. Will HJ's? Maybe, maybe not. It is a long season.

I'm very proud of the Hawks. Like I posted before, had nothing to lose going to the home gym of the #1 ranked team. They played a solid first quarter and then let the second one get away. However, instead of laying down, they continued to play hard and battle back. Silsbee's depth was too their advantage, especailly with early foul trouble for the Hawks and then Parquet going out with an injury. Even with that, they continued to play the game and give their best effort. Silsbee may be #1, but the Hawks are no slackers. We will see the Tigers soon in the Hawks Nest.

Little need for anyone from HJ to comment. There are enough Silsbee people keeping the threads going. HJ has nothing to lose, they aren't the top ranked team in the state and are not expected win. Just hope it is a good game and there are no injuries.

They have chairs, they are just up against the front row of bleachers, so you have to walk in front of the bench to get to the other end
