So now I ask....Were there any "consequences" as you are suggesting should happen in this particular case?
Both of the cases mentioned were reviewed and ruled no problem. That may happen in the situation you have mentioned. But, I do believe the Hunter boys had to sit out of Varsity for a year. And when football players went to Kountze from HJ, they were not allowed to play Varsity either. My point is, this is not an isolated issue and it isn't because as you keep saying, people think they "own" a kid or the rights to their ability. It is simply a process of following the rules and accepting any and all POSSIBLE consequences.

Why would they look at Boutte though? He hasn't and won't recruit any player...That's an unfair assumption, don't you think? Would they look at Todd Sutherland that close? Just asking....
When Coach Sutherland was at HJ, Silsbee questioned a player and it did go before the committee...Yes, it does happen in other districts. This situation isn't being questioned because of anything special. It happens here, in other districts and across the state. This is not an isolated situation.
Tre Baldwin from WOS had to go through this when transferring before his Senior year (and he moved with a parent and it was approved). Get over yourself and stop thinking that people are trying to prevent this because they or the district "own" him. It is simply rules set up by the UIL.

smh....Enough. This problem is not ours. It is the parents and kids. They have to be ready to accept any consequences for their actions.

Congratulations! Another young man going off to college.

Isn't Omar (his dad) using the gym at HJ for his AAU program these days? Hmmmmmm. Sounds kinda fishy to me....SMH...And they SWEAR there are no dirty dealings going on in Sour Lake...yeah ok. I wonder if they are developing a new Communications Program over there next year...lol
This is not true. He has a daughter that has been attending China elementary and she is involved in the Little Dribblers Program at HJ. He has coached her the last 2 years. So, the family is already in the district.

Where is the Nederland coach going?
Also, Lumberton would have had a winning record the last few years, no matter who was there. They were talented and have plenty of talent coming up.

What 4 are you talking bout?
There are 2 Parquet's. One will be a Senior (he was on JV) and the other will be a Junior (started)
Again, I don't know why any of them would leave.

It was pointed out to me that my comments may have been misunderstood about the Parquets or any other family wishing to attend Kelly. I would like to clear up any misunderstanding. I would never assume that a family doesn't have the money to attend Kelly. I have no way of knowing anyone else's financial situation. I only pointed out the tuition schedule because the more you make, the more you pay. And the most important reason I listed it is because the rumors I am hearing is that people think they are coming on a scholarship...which doesn't exist. So if anyone were reading this that are planning to come to Kelly, I don't want them to base their decision on getting a scholarship and then get blindsided in August and have to scramble to make arrangements for another school. This has happened in the past. I know plenty of people who have the money to come to Kelly, but don't would rather not spend the money. That's why I said in an earlier post that having the money and being willing to spend it are two different things. So I NEVER doubted the Parquets have the money to come to Kelly. I just don't want them to think there's a scholarship out there. If I were moving my son, I would want all the details early so I can make a wise decision. Just trying to help.
Are both of the brothers going? That adds to the cost.
I'm honestly not understanding why any of them that are rumored to be leaving would leave.

That was him!

I too think there was a too many, but I'm thankful that there wasn't a large amount from each school put on the list. OF and HF have 1 each, which is seems right. Maybe the others could be reduced some, but I'm not sure where.

I will be honest there aren't 10 players in the district that could start for Silsbee. Saldin and Parquet maybe. No one else would Crack the top 10 for Silsbee. The district isn't that deep at all.
So the District MVP for Defense for the past 2 years, Jamerson Roberts, wouldn't start for Silsbee?
-
I think what made this team special was their depth. But, I don't think their top group is as strong individually as the teams mentioned in the 90s.
Also, the depth has been the talking point all year, but I was a little confused that it wasn't utilized in the second half like it had been throughout the season.

I wanted BS to win. I was planning on watching them tomorrow. It has been a pleasure watching them and having a child compete against them. To go 2 1/2 months without competition is tough. Their community support is amazing.

You don't get the advantage of getting fouled and going to the line when you are content to keep shooting 3's on an off night.

Come on Big Sandy!

I believed Wheatley was beatable. We just didn't get there.

Silsbee will have no problem getting out of the Region.

Well done, Sir!

wow! HF gets 1st district win.

Is there any chance of Silsbee having a 9th grade game after grades come out or are their numbers low with kids playing up?
-
Benard was hurt in the second district game and then was additionally injured in a car wreck. Parquet has been out since the 2nd quarter of the Silsbee game.

I am not suggesting anything...I am simply providing examples where there have been and haven't been consequences. It isn't up to me, you, the parents, the kids or the coaches to decide if there is a question. It is up to the committee to investigate and make a decision.
