  1. Exactly lol....what he did for jermaine, clint and drew was change their lives...IF Olin hadnt been their coach they wouldnt have been what they were either. The difference is they were at least Baytown boys. Jermaine was DE until Olin arrived. Clint was a WR and Drew was a puny ball boy. Had Olin been at say Sterling instead of REL I think we would be saying a different group of names which is my point. Olin was a head of his time and made a huge difference in not only those kids careers but many others at REL. They were horrible before he arrived.
  2. Hats off to PNG they play tough defense against BH. The real question is how are they 0-8 or whatever in district?
  3. Thats awesome. It's amazing what Dick Olin did for that kid. Recruited out of Crosby to a successful high school career parlayed into a heck of a nice coaching career.
  4. Why cant this game be rescheduled again? Isnt there a few saturdays open to play?
  5. United folks need to keep the pressure on. Its hard to even see the spin of the ball in that environment.
  6. Lower scoring output in that game for United than I would have expected.
  7. First time in it last night, I noticed it right off the bat, its too dark. Ridiculous really. The lighting over the stands was brighter for some reason.
  8. After seeing both I would love to see them play. Honestly not sure who I would take. United is athletic, long, fast and can shoot. It would be a great matchup and needs to happen. BH looked like they had no idea what they were walking into tonight.
  9. #22 and #17 had very nice games for BH which is what you need as a young team, to have the Jr and Srs step up. I would argue with #3 and how many times she went to foul line, especially in the 1st half when the game was closer. She had a great game though. I would argue the foul count is always going to go against HJ because they play hard tight defense. They are in your face and grabbing/pulling on you the entire game. Some game the refs let a lot of that go and some games they don't. BH plays no where near the level of defense that HJ does, I think their defense impressed me the most. Who else beat the HJ JV? They were good. Agreed on atmosphere, it was fun.
  10. Huh I'm not following. Max Preps lists scores every quarter ? Did someone make that up or when did they forfeit? As far as officiating its been horrible all year. Last Tuesday at PNG the PNG parents had to be restrained in the stands (loudly yelled you suck at the Refs) and after the game a momma was cussing out the refs for all to hear. Maybe its just as much a PNG parent thing as it is officiating?
  11. Wow cant believe NS lost but pretty cool to see father vs son in the championship.
  12. Th officiating was bad, anytime someone breathed on #3 for HJ BH got a foul called on them. BH kept it around 15-18 for most of the game before some late minute baskets made it look worse than it was. HJ is a great team but I thought BH played hard and tough. BH is a young team with team with two freshman getting a lot of PT. Congrats to the BH JV for beating HJ 65-63. Was that the first loss for HJ's JV team? And I take it there is no freshman team?
  13. I heard RSS was changing them againt his year? anyone know?
  14. I love Denny as a coach but man they lose a lot of pieces for next year. Losing Thames, Beasley, Homan, Oliphant among others....there goes a #1 pitcher/hitter/OF, 4 year varsity catcher, Solid SS, Solid 3b, thats a lot to lose. K Denny will be back but he will have a lot less support, I cant see next years team being near as strong as the last two.
  15. So 4 out of the 6 catchers got 1st or 2nd team all district?  Seems like about everyone gets something these days.
  16. Denny went 1 for 2 with 2 walks tonight so on base 3 out of 4 times....he scored in the first and tried to get in a 1st and 3rd run down to tie the game maybe in the 3rd but runner was gunned down at home. Foster did a good job of limiting his opportunities. A couple of times they had bases loaded 2 outs but couldnt get Denny up there leaving him standing on deck. Kid for Foster was 86-87 and kids for BH were low 80s.
  17. Hobbs, Matthew and hallen have pitched for bh. Foster has 3 hr including two by sop ss Riley hood.  Sr Greg wise going the distance for foster. Foster can swing the stick.
  18. Yep have to be crafty to get by with 76-77. A softer version of Thames. What is funny to me is a lot of coaches would see that velocity and cast that kid aside. Too many fall in love with mph...ask lots of batters and the guys they hate facing are these type of kids that know how to pitch. Thames went 4 giving up 4 runs...yanked him there to maybe be able to pitch some Saturday is my guess.
