Not exactly what I would have hoped for. I know New Caney dominated this Spring Woods team on the stat sheet, but SW returned like 4 fumbles for td's to win the game. New Caney got dominated by Dayton. The transitive property of football does not always work, but I was still hoping for more from Lee at this point. Going to have to beat a good team or two to make the playoffs.

Baytown Sterling - the Streak

My Dad had a friend that would sit pretty close to us at all of the Lee games. This was back in the early to mid 90's, back when Lee had actually had fans that would go to the games. He was an entertaining guy. Lee grad I believe. He moved out to Barbers Hill area though around the early 90's and his kids graduated from Barbers Hill. I assume he is still a Barbers Hill fan. That's why I was asking. -
Baytown Sun seems to think this is the first time since the mid 1990's that Lee has a chance to start out 3-0. Seems to me that Lee and North Shore were both 9-0 going into the last week of the season when Lee had Drew Tate in 2001. NS put it on the Ganders 77-34. Humble put it on the Ganders as well in the second round of the playoffs. The Sun also described Zellars as a prototypical passer and an above average runner. Do they not see the games at all? He is a devastating runner with a passing game that is a work in progress but improving. No big deal, just interesting.....hope the Ganders can start out 3-0 this Saturday.
I am an old REL grad and I hate to see the way it is now but I still think it will be adios in several years. I think they sell everything on the Lee campus to Lee College and go to 2 schools. The interesting part will be.....split campus but one school or 2 5a schools like the old days.
Are your initials JH by any chance? -
How can they come so close to beating Laporte last year for instance, then lay this egg this year. I don't think the talent is too far different from last year to this. I think the coach has lost the team as some have said. Heck, it sounded like Sterling held their own against Kingwood Park in the scrimmage this year and they are not doing too bad. Looks like they brought in a new qb according to the Chronicle stats. I just had high hopes for this group of kids at Sterling now. If they're not going to use them, just send them to Lee already. ;D

Yeah you can tell that he adds a completely new dimension. Did Leonce play at all in the second half at receiver? The thing is not only does Zellars greatly upgrade the qb position, Leonce is going to greatly upgrade the slot receiver position. He is deadly in one on one situations. With Jobe and Gomez on the outside and Leonce on the inside, then you add in Cedeno at rb and Zellars at qb....Lee should be tough to handle as long as they limit mistakes and execute. Of course Rayburn is not very good either lol Lee just got manhandled at times up front. Rayburn had way too much size for them to deal with. I'm still very afraid of what Dawson and TC will do to Lee's defense. They won't be slow to the hole like these Rayburn guys were.
