AshlyHasBeen got a reaction from WOSdrummer99 in Yep, we knew!
Cards can list birthplace and hometown. Clay Buchholz had birthplace as Nederland and hometown as Lumberton. The card of Roschon I’ve seen says hometown Port Neches, but NFL lists birthplace as Port Arthur.

AshlyHasBeen got a reaction from Separation Scientist in 17-5a Playoff race
This is from what I’ve been told by coaches in the district.
3 way tiebreaker is head to head first of the 3 involved.
If GCM, Nederland and PNG all end up 8-6 then head to head of the three is
GCM 3-1 (3rd)
PNG 2-2 (4th)
NED 1-3 (5th-out)
If all 3 had split then there would be a mini tournament.

That's what I saw. South Florida just offered yesterday.
I speak to Dre'lon's dad about once a week. He and I are good friends. He keeps me informed on a weekly basis.
As always Ash, you are spot on with your post.

Being Coach Calvert myself, I’d be surprised. If I move my family, it would only be to get closer to the WOS 🔥

Of local note to Southeast Texas there are now two Division II qualifiers locally with Hamshire-Fannett and Hardin-Jefferson
In Divison III there's a qualifier at West Hardin and not too far away is Crockett as well

AshlyHasBeen got a reaction from AthleticSupporter - Jock in Should UIL go to a three year stadium rotation for football state games?
People keep pointing out the one year at NRG. There were three or four newer schools playing. 5A-DI George Ranch vs Lake Ridge (15,743). 5A-DII Cedar Park vs Frisco Lone Star (13,479). Not much of a following built up with a lack of alumni. Plus the big thing people don’t like to bring up. DFW doesn’t travel as well. They’ll show up when it’s in their backyard. Katy vs Lake Travis drew 43,718 in Houston. North Shore vs Westlake was 28,841.
Schools within 100 miles of AT&T Stadium went (5-1) this year. China Spring is 109 miles away and also won. There is a real home field advantage for the DFW.
Stephenville (west of DFW) might have brought 5,000 fans in 1999 to the Astrodome. That was crazy to me considering the monster program they had built.
I like the idea of a 3 stadium rotation and San Antonio is most central location with a dome if a rotation isn’t possible.
There’s also the crowd talking about the experience the kids get playing in AT&T. Well I’ll say Newton was just a excited to win a title in Tyler Rose Stadium when the weather was in the 20’s as they were when winning it AT&T.

AshlyHasBeen got a reaction from PN-G bamatex in ****PN-G(42)**** vs. Liberty Hill(14) *****PNG Advances to State*****
PNG has been in 5A (which was 4A until the addition of 6A) since 1988, besides a brief stint in 5A (the current 6A) in 1994 and 1995.
Sounds confusing, but they’ve been primarily in the state’s second highest class since the late 80’s. Of course the UIL then added divisions of the classes more recently.

Vidor does the exact same thing. Sprint to the line and usually immediately snaps it a split second after being set. It’s a thing of beauty when the timing is perfect….but when it’s not you see a lot of false starts. Vidor, Orangefield and a lot of other coaches meet in Liberty Hill every summer. It’s the home of the Slot-T Mafia.
