mat got a reaction from LumRaiderFan in Is it biblical to ask Jesus into your heart?
A sinner's prayer is not necessarily wrong even though the prayer is not in the bible. I feel it is a good tool to lead those through the initial acknowledgement and confession of sins and accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I also think the non-biblical opinion of asking Jesus into our heart is splitting hairs. You can ask him into your heart, body, soul, life, whatever; Jesus knows your heart and intent and He will squabble over proper working. JMO
As Romans states;
That if you confess with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Huge respect for Cuban and Smith.
Heck, how about a Cuban Smith ticket? I'd vote for them.

We have got to stop microanalyzing every word and every breath taken by every person. Hypersensitivity is consuming us.

I have a newfound respect for him after watching that today. I can certainly see why he is being castigated by some in his own ethnic community as he was bold enough to call out the hypocracy of those in the racial greivance industry!!!

Does not matter that you are not a part of any group you mentioned above. This country was built on (individual) personal stories and challenges. Everyone can and should relate to this, if they really want to, of course ;)

I guess that is temporary compared to a lifetime.
The welfare system is flawed and has a lot of waste. The cuts need to happen and will at some point.
Cuts need to be made in a lot more than just welfare.
When people hear cuts they thing someone is going to someone's house and taking back their food stamps and children are going to bed hungry, A cut can be as simple as staffing reductions or combining jobs. At my job, I lost my assistant manager and gained a full time employee. I now delegate their task to all my employee's. It works great and I saved some money.

There's a difference between a home invasion and breaking and entering. Punks these days are coming through the front door and beating the crap out of the elderly.

how can you support a party that claims to be pro-life, but they are opposed to programs that sustain life like TANF, SNAPS, WIC and free lunch programs. Republicans want to force you to have a baby, but they dont care if he starves to death after he is born. You guys are pro birth not pro life. I dont agree with abortions, but I also dont agree with letting a kid starve to death -

If you agree then why do you try to undercut so many comments that come from a Christian worldview?
It would be best to study up on this
Colossians 2:8 J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)
8 Be careful that nobody spoils your faith through intellectualism or high-sounding nonsense. Such stuff is at best founded on men’s ideas of the nature of the world and disregards Christ!
To make sure you do not hear this
Matthew 7:23 J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)
22-23 “In ‘that day’ many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we preach in your name, didn’t we cast out devils in your name, and do many great things in your name?’ Then I shall tell them plainly, ‘I have never known you. Go away from me, you have worked on the side of evil!’â€

Simply witnessing to someone is not forcing your beliefs on them.
As Christians we are commanded to tell the Gospel to others...but never to try to force it on someone.

No worse than you would feel if the called them the Houston _______ . Note the political correctness. Isnt it interesting that you can use a racially derogatory term and it is seemingly alright but if I had filled in the blanks, I would be crucified, fired from my job and sent to "sensitivity training"

If gay marriage should be acceptable, why not plural marriage? (a little less radical comparison to marrying an animal)

mat got a reaction from usedtobe in Congrats to Micheal Sam
When I heard that Michael Sam was drafted in the seventh round I thought good for him. Then it became the biggest story in not just the sports world but in the nation. "The kiss" was aired countless times on all networks including ESPN. The media has sensationalized the story to annoyance. Obama felt the need to congratulate him personally on his seventh round accomplishment. I'm suppose there were not any other draftees with accomplishments as commendable worthy.
You see, its not enough for me and others to just except him as a person, football player or even a gay man. We are forced to endure the relentless promotion of his story that includes having to repeatedly watch "the kiss" as we try to watch ESPN. Plus we have to accept his hero status as our president sings his praise. Simple acceptance is not enough. The constant "in your face" is something Christians have a hard time with. JMO

Dove, That's what bothers me about civil rights, prejudices and political correctness. Race, gender and gay rights are grouped together. I fully support racial and gender equality because that is what God would want. It is a Christian view that gay rights is not something God would not approve of. Love the sinner, hate the sin. If I were a minority race I would have serious concerns about being grouped into the same civil rights bowl. JMO

I am a Christian..............of GOD, FAITH AND SACRIFICE.I am also a combat veteran. I do not stand for political gain or notoriety. I will die one day knowing that I have served not only my faith, but my country and my family. I lived and served for a purpose of which my children will pass on to theirs. and they will not be ashamed!
