You are truly unbelievable with that statement! My oldest son graduated in a class of 65. He was never a superstar athlete, but he worked his tail off in the classroom and football field. He earned an athletic and academic scholly. He was never given a scholarship, he had to earn it by his play on the field and his work in the classroom.
There are hundreds or thousands of kids that have earned the same thing.

Therein lies his problem. When his jokes run out in a month or so, will he actually say anything that makes any sense or will it still simply be, "trust me" ..... which is almost exact what we heard from Obama and his claims to "fundamentally" change this country. 
And I am not completely against Trump. I think we could do worse and currently are doing worse. I don't buy the idea that he is an "outsider" and not a politician as the main reason to vote for him. He would be almost nothing had it not been for his already being established as a celebrity. 

I think the vast majority love the reality tv aspect to Trump. 
I don't buy the "he isn't a politician" angle. Neither was Reagan when he was an actor. Neither was Jimmy Carter when he was a peanut farmer. Neither was Mike Huckabee when he was a preacher. Neither was G H W Bush when he was an oil wildcatter. When they ran for office, they became politicians. So if Trump gets elected, he isn't a politician in the highest political office in the land? Sure he will be and sure he is now. In reality he is a politician that has not yet held political office. 
You talk about unfulfilled promises. Okay, I'll buy that. Trump says "I'll do this and I'll do that, trust me!". Well how is he going to do it if Congress will not pass the law? If the Republicans hold both houses (which seems likely) me might have a more favorable Congress to work with however any of the Republicans will be in the same position. Trump reminds me a lot of Obama. "Trust me". Like, trust me, I will make the world love us and not make them all mad. How did that work out for us? 
You talk about a fresh perspective yet Trump has no perspective other than, trust me because I am The Donald. 
I do think that he would be a lot better than Obama but I think the same thing about my mother's Siamese Cat.

It doesn't matter the other side of the story, they are guilty of breaking rules and the least and at the most, almost certainly assault. It is like having a guy speeding past you and turning off and the cops catch you. When you tell the officer, "Another guy in front of me was speeding also" is no excuse and even if true is meaningless. You are the one that got caught. 
Just like this one happened to be on video. So what? I suspect that if this happened before there might not have been video but there were certainly witnesses and people have been held accountable long before there was any such thing as video. It is like you are implying that this happens and these two players just "happened to get caught" because of video. 
As far as the legal system, no I would not want my child or even me to be involved. I wish that I was clear from any criminal responsibility and could do what I wanted with an criminal consequences. Unfortunately for me I don't have that exemption. While I would not like it, if I or a family member gets caught up in the legal system then so be it. It isn't a matter of (as has been brought up a few times) "throwing the book at them". The book in that terms is the maximum punishment. In the case of an assault with injuries in TX it carries a maximum of a $4,000 time and a year in jail..... but, it can be as little as a $1 fine and no jail. The law has a lot of built in leeway and a judge or jury gets to make the call if the person needs a slap on the wrist of having the book thrown at them. 
I have yet to comment on these kids being charged criminally or civilly other than to say that such charges are possible in my opinion. You have managed to drag almost every excuse for bad behavior however. Someone else has done the same but wasn't caught, you wouldn't want your family member in the legal system (who does?) and someone else may have provoked them into it. 
Here is the deal, if you are walking under the palm tree when the coconut falls, you are the one that gets hit. It doesn't matter who walked under that tree yesterday. They walked under the tree when the coconut fell. They got hit and need to pay the price within the law and taking all circumstances into account. Maybe that is a mere suspension and maybe it is criminal charges. Whatever it is, excuse don't cut it in my opinion. They made a stupid and inexcusable act and need to face up to their actions and quit having people blame someone else.
I suspect that if they are these model citizens as has been suggested is a possibility, they will not have "the book thrown at them".

Are you from BG's hometown? I have been to his house a couple of times and never noticed you in the area but I might stop in and say "Hi" if you are in the area. 

This wasn't a "heat of the moment" issue. That might be shoving another player that is in your face or yelling a profanity at an official after a call.
In this case the play had ended, another play was called and two players had to get together in what is basically a conspiracty to team up on the ref. I think people might be a bit more accepting of "a mistake" if it had actually been something that happened in the heat of a play.
This was a planned attack on a person that was hatched after the previous play was over and both teams got to go to their respective huddles. There simply was no heat of the moment issue. 
The idea that others have done worse is trying to rationalize extreme bad behavior.

Meanwhile the Dems put all of their eggs in one basket, a woman that is almost 70 (coincidentally almost the exact same age as Ronald Reagan who the Dems said was too old to be a president) and who at the moment appears to be falling apart. To counter her possible demise the Dems have a 73 year old avowed socialist and a 72 year old vice president who is not in the race but people might be begging him as a last resort. 
I am sure there are plenty of young energetic Democrats out there but they were shoved aside in what was supposed to be a coronation of the new queen. 
..... and the Dems are crowing about the GOP getting a bad deal?
