What does this mean for Nederland?
tvc184 replied to Nederland Dog 2006's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It means that Nederland is 1-0 and needs to make some improvements if they are going to make a run at the playoffs. Good job in the comeback but a season it doesn't make. -
The EURO model shows it going right up the east coast almost in the same path as Irene and making landfall in the New England area around September 10th.
When does the flounder run start, and where would be a good place to fish for them from the bank?
Some places around Sabine Pass you can get to the shallow water when the run starts. Look for the cold fronts to start pushing them toward the Gulf. The colder ones that really chill the water will send them packing.

Hooks could work 'em but he could only get away with what the refs would let him do. Good coaching when you can do it....... -
What were y'alls votes based on? Last years records, this years scrimmages or what? Kind of curious as to the thought process behind these votes.
Ten moderators and administrators voted (and I was not one of them). Each gives his opinion and can use any criteria that he wants.....scrimmage, record, history or just a wild guess. If you think they are wrong, toss your opinions in the ring. All thoughts welcome. -
Just curious, can u fish the fish pass at Keith lake in a canoe with trolling motor?
Yes but that area really gets to ripping on some of the tides. Near the bank the current should not be so bad if it really kicks up.

Who carries them? The main think I look for in the swimming/jerk baits is being able to run true at more than very slow. You can crank down on a Yozuri and really run it and it will still run.

They seem to like that swimming minnow effect.
You ever use the Swimming Image? I like it a lot.
No. Is it cheaper than the Yozuri that is about $8 a pop?
went out for a couple of hours tonight, but got run off by the lightening. kept 3 reds (26, 24, 21) and 5 specks (21 1/2, 20 1/2, 18, 15, 15). we were in the fish, and probably would've limited out on both species if we hadn't had to leave.
Get those reds on artificial or live/dead bait?

Dry Conditions Could Boost Dove Hunting Prospects
tvc184 replied to daytonfan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It is kind of strange that you can't hunt over bait for dove but you can hunt over water which in effect, is the same thing, especially during a drought. -
It's not my lease in east Texas but these are some of the turkeys I saw in south Texas last deer season. The bottom two pictures were taken from my bow blind on a fence line. [IMG][Hidden Content]] [IMG][Hidden Content]] [IMG][Hidden Content]] [IMG][Hidden Content]]

What people call politics (favoritism) is in every facets of life. That is because football players, coaches, parents, police officers, doctors, lawyers, ditch diggers and everyone else comes from the human race. When we all become Spock from Star Trek and show no emotion and always act in a logical manner, we will not have favoritism or what people call politics. Until then...............

Less than 24 hrs of being home and.....

The cops didn't take fingerprints but I saw prints on glass I didn't see before I left and door handles.
Wow, I'm shocked. Why no fingerprints, I wonder?
Fingerprints are not so easy to get in many cases. Sometimes a person just doesn't leave prints. Even if they do, it has to be a smooth, dry and clean surface. Dust, moisture, texture or dirt tends to obscure fingerprints. You can see that the item was touched but you can't lift them or get anything of usable value. Then you have to find the item(s) to be fingerprinted. It is not like the police or an ID technician is going to go into every house and fingerprint thousands of items. It has to be limited to what they can tell has been handled by the suspect(s) and then has to fit the criteria I listed. Easy on the television, not so easy in real life. -
