1. It has probably been said a few times on this forum but Nederland/PNG goes way beyond football. There isn't a day that goes by that someone at work doesn't make a comment to me about Nederland or I will make a comment about PNG. I might toss a pen to someone at work and if he drops it and is a PNG grad, I will quickly point out that it is merely another Indian that can't catch. If they find me in some mistake there is a statement about what do you expect from a Big Ned grad. Go to any Nederland and Port Neches or Groves little league baseball games or anything else between them and you will always see a crowd that is larger than normal for that sport. I saw someone on here state that they could be playing tiddlywinks and would draw a crowd and that is likely true. Mid-County Madness isn't one game or one week a year. It is 365 days a year.
 2. Looks like it might be diminishing at the moment but still out there. Sabine Pass or PA looks like they might get some of it.
 3.
unable to contact him.. will be in the back of my mind tho. If the approval ever comes through look out for a SETX app..
Jdawg doesn't live on the board like many of us. He will answer.
 4.
My friend had a beach cabin this week, and surf fished every day, didn't catch a single thing... He then went to the bay/canal side and got the same thing... Wondering what's going on? I mean you atleast get hardheads or croaker, but can't even get those!
When you can't catch a hardhead..........
 5. OTB and my latest trip to the ship channel. Three of us caught 30 specks with the largest at 20.5". Most were in the 16"-18" range. This was just the 20 that OTB and I caught. [IMG][Hidden Content]]
 6.

i went a long way towards completing my collection with the purchase of a rock river elite operator II yesterday!
nice looking addition! What's your reasoning behind going with the rock river instead of a different variant. look, performance, personal preference, etc?
RRA's have a good reputation, a solid warranty and service, very good accuracy (I think mostly Wilson barrels) and great factory triggers. The Operator series is the best deal on the market today with $600 in add ons (quad rail, ergo grip, chrome BCG, winter trigger guard, custom stock, national match trigger, etc) for free. The base RRA's cost $960 with no enhancements. The Operators have all of the mentions extras for a driveout price of $1,000 and free shipping. RRA currently makes the federal law enforcement rifles or they did until recently.
 7. Weiner is an idiot and Murdoch is a private citizen. What is there to discuss... since he wanted to see the answer.
 8.
Sounds like a good trip. Where's Destin? You sure don't catch Trigger fish like used to.
Pensacola, Fort Walton area of Florida. The upper coast about half way down the panhandle.
If you REALLY want some reds, go to the jetties.  Caught 17 there Sat.
Any slots?
 10.
OK   I have a couple of friends with lighted piers on south Pleasure Island.  Next week, two lefties, me and Three Balls, take on Hippy and TVC for all the marbles.   Losers change parties.  Who is in?
But you will probably wait until the tide is coming from the left side of the piers.
 11. I don't know that it was 30 minutes. I was more like one of them and then a 10 minute gap. Then it was 3 that were 20" or larger in about 5 minutes. My largest was 18" but it looked small next to those bulked up 20 inchers.
 12. Things are starting to heat up.
 13.
I'm interested in this Muzzle loader gun.  Anyone have any knowledge of this weapon.  Does it meet the standards of TPWD for a blackpowder gun?
If you are talking about muzzleloader only, I think it does. I think it does because it loads only through the muzzle. The season is not cap and ball or blackpowder but muzzle loader season. From TPWD: Muzzleloader: Any firearm that is loaded only through the muzzle. Note: A cap and ball firearm in which the powder and ball are loaded into a cylinder is not a muzzleloader. Muzzleloader deer seasons are restricted to muzzleloading firearms only.
 14. The Elite is the best of that group with the mid-length handguard.
 15.
I'm guessing one of the houses on the water at Sabine Lake down toward the causeway.  Man there is some good night fishing off those docks.  My brother-in-law got an invite to one and smoked the trout.  I have fished from a boat just off the docks and didn't have much luck.  I guess its a case of who you know. :)
I had a guy that let me go to his dock on the south end of the causeway and we could kill them from his pier. Ike took care of that little honey hole.
 16. In place.
 17.
question is?  Was it a private pier or was that a nice way of saying none of your business, we aint saying?  LOL
Actually it was a private pier AND we ain't saying.  :D
 18. With all the wind and then rain, I'll bet it still looks like crap.
 19. Private pier.
 20. We probably put about 50 on the dock with 20 keepers. We lost about another 20 (at least) that dropped off the hook as we were lifting them out of the water onto the dock as we were about 6 feet above the water and a 3 foot rail. About 12 of the keepers were at least 17" with no really big ones except the mega-speck that OTB let go. NEVER NEVER NEVER try to pick a speck out of the water with your hands......  ;D It would have gone 4 pounds minimum. We thought it was a redfish.
 21.
i just bought a boat and planned on fishing around stewts island this weekend...does anyone have any advice for me...it will be my first time out there and i dont know where to fish around there or what is the best bait for that area or even if thats a good place to fish or not
Yeah, pick me up and let me show you.  ;D Lots of options on the north end. I don't know with as windy as it has been and with all the rain but specks have been schooling. You could go chase birds or bait on the water. You could also anchor or slow drift (as mentioned, the wind will probably prohibit that option) with cut bait or crabs for reds on the sand bars and channel south of the island. Also be very careful in the area as it can get very shallow in what looks like open water. Instead of running about a mile east of the big bridges to the islands you could run the same distance west and fish around and in the east Bessie Heights canal. The "best" bait is generally shrimp if you can get some but I rarely use them. I hate buying them but love it when I can get some in a cast net. Mud minnows, soft plastics, finger mullet are good options. What is it that you are looking to catch?
partially.  then some night fishing.
I might be on the way to check out some night action in a bit.
 23.
13 boats...$650 paid out...winning 5 fish weight was 10 lbs 14 oz, big bass was 3 lbs 5 oz.
Pretty good haul for the river.

It doesn't seem that hard to just address the issue and not the person.
I give new posters some slack on learning how to post. I recall my first post being very argumentative.....as a matter of fact I remember going a few rounds with you!  ;D  But one thing we never did was never call each other names.....we argued the facts (or at least I did  :D)
Yeah, I called you a hippy.
