  1. You were at least partly correct. Ozen did make a statement tonight.
  2. I've never had axis but I always hear they are the best deer meat, rivaling beef. Any truth to that?
  3. haha no joke this really happend? Since when can the defense not get a delay of the game penalty?
  4. If they are the same as last year with one dimension and no defense, does that mean lasts year's Nederland 31 Ozen 14 score should stay the same?
  5. Exactly what facts are you referring to? If you know they are facts, why not release them.
  6. I will concur. Unless Nederland's run defense somehow became existent in the last two weeks without games or much practice, Nederland will have a hard time winning this one.
  7. LCM gets a boost by playing in front of the home crowd, having the announcer antagonizing the visitors and the scoreboard booming out that bear roar to keep the players fired up. Add that to the fact that everyone is saying that the Bears are lousy and so they have something to prove. Due to all of these advantages to LCM, I think PNG will only win by 21.
  8. I was supposed to go but Ike but the nix on my plans. I had a week vacation scheduled. Maybe I can go in a couple of weeks. I have a bow hunt planned at a day lease in south Texas for November.
  9. I think that Central is the obvious favorite but I wouldn't be shocked if Vidor pulled off the upset.
  10. I'll bet that most of the Golden Triangle is up and running with a few small and widely scattered outages left.
  11. Yeah, I can understand that. Maybe 24x7 just has rough wording. If the officials said to have 10 days of supplies and you would be on your own if you stay and then told the people not to come back, then it is their fault. I am forced to stay due to work but we know that FEMA (or anyone else) is not going to be there for probably 3 days just to get us some relief in the form of food and water. We have provisions for food, water and housing for several days after a storm. If anyone wants to stay, they should expect the same. Anyone that thinks FEMA is going to be (or even should be) camped out on their doorstep a couple of days after a storm is being ridiculous. Put that way, I can see the point.
  12. I think the point is that if you left, you probably got damage and were without power. If you stayed, you got the same damage and were without power. Other than that.............
  13. I saw some more lights come on in the south area of Port Arthur early Saturday morning, maybe about 12:30AM. More and more will be coming online very soon.
  14. I have talked to people at work that have Verizon (I only have their air card/wireless internet) and they claimed that the discount was for your main phone number. If you have companion lines or other charges such as insurance and also the taxes, are not discounted. Money is money so anything they give is great. I don't think they drop the whole bill however.
  15. In reference to deaths, what would be the point of a cover up or not disclosing the information? The rumors are just that, rumors. Working in emergency managment, I have heard of no reports of deaths. This is just the kind of statements that go around when people start speculating. There is always the possibilty of deaths from this storm but the mass deaths being reported seems to be nonsense.
  16. I left Sabine Pass at 5:45AM as we tried to get people to leave that may have stayed. There were still people trying to leave when I got out. I was in a Ford Expedition and almost didn't make it out of some areas. There were areas of Sabine Pass with 3-4 feet over the roads already. The highway to Sabine Pass was going under in a few spots when I was coming out.
  17. The surge will really start increasing Friday afternoon and is supposed to peak from 3:00AM to 6:00AM on Saturday morning. So it will start tomorrow afternoon or evening and some time after midnight but before daylight Saturday, it will top out.
  18. Let me go ask. Some of the predictions are between 14-17 foot storm surge. I like those better than 20+. Hopefully it will stay outside the seawall and all this will be an exercise in fear.
  19. For anyone that is staying, they upped the forecast for the storm surge to 20 feet in the Golden Triangle. Anyone in Sabine Pass, Port Arthur, Bridge City or other low lying areas that has not left, needs to do so..... and hope they are wrong. The seawall around Port Arthur and Mid-County is 15 feet above sea level. Assuming that their forecast is correct, it could make New Orleans after Katrina look like a wading pool. Of course, if you can swim in 100mph winds while on top of 30 foot waves...... If this stays on the current forecast, it could be catastrophic damage in some areas.
  20. With the predicted storm surge, it could be devastating for Bridge City. Let's pray that it stays farther west and doesn't strengthen.
  21. That might not be a bad idea if this thing keeps tracking to the east. Bridge City might not be a good option to ride it out.
  22. Oh good. That means it won't hit them and will turn our way.... again.
