I agree with the first part of your post. You're exactly right it IS on the job training. The problem is that they had so little experience that the learning curve could be forever. I mean, we're still not doing the "101" type of things like containing the edge. Things coaching under an established leader with experience is gained in the short term, not "when they finally figure it out". I think it's sad this program is being destroyed by people with no leadership experience and our program being their "on the job training".
The second, I don't agree were not playing Belville because I don't think we beat any of the top three in our district (hope I'm wrong). Our greatest asset at this point is Turner but it looks like we're gonna run him til his tongue drags. He's not gonna make it to those games.
Funny, I watched the Texas Longhorns last night shut down the Alabama run game out of the 50 defense... jumping into the 4 man front on obvious passing downs... what a novel thought...🤔 CT was always about stopping the run and controlling the pass. I'm sorry, but you'll never convince me that our players, running a CT trained coach out of the 50, PNG might have scored once. They certainly wouldn't have been able to make a living at it.

Can we finally have a conversation about how some of the WOS coaches have destroyed the "mystique# of WOS. They seem to have no respect for the history of WOS. Fans like myself will have to remember the good old days. The present socks and the future may not be any better. Feel sorry for the program and kids. Imo

Silsbee is going to crush us and I feel awful for these kids already. They grew up dreaming of wearing that silver hat and being part of a legacy of greatness. The only thing that kept us in this game was effort from the players and their athleticism. It is so hard watching it die. Can you even sort of imagine those runs right up the gut against a real WO-S defense?

U truly are a class act.u know I've always respected Nederland and PNG. Even when I played.those 2 teams has always been tough.and something u might not kno in 87 season the only L we took that year was from PNG in a scrimmage.and the hardest game was against Nederland.but it led us to a state title in which we beat the 3 team in the nation.our tradition has always been there.but that's why it's so hard for alot of us watch outsiders just change everything.

Take away Turner and WOS wins 3 games.    Such a poor offensive scheme, and poorly coached team.  Every extra point chart and coaching philosophy in the world tells you to kick the extra point up 3.    You NEVER go for 2 in that situation.    
 
They still have the jimmy’s and Joe’s though.   Sad for such a proud and great program to settle for that.

Well I know png couldn't pass the ball. And typically wos keys on the run and stuffs it and makes you beat them with the pass. But the new defense has proven not to stop the run. It is not suited for our players 

No bro it's not all they have.the oc and the DC are standing on the sideline.go to the press box.trahan only ran 5 plays.if they play somebody sorry.he throw the kitchen sink at them.ill never know how they got these jobs.this isn't little league.he will call a play from the sideline and hope it works.

Not impressed with png at all. If wos was a typical wos team this would be a blow out. But wos ain't wos anymore. 

He was never DC at w.o. Mike pierce was.hickman was the dline coach.and when he was the DC at Silsbee they were one of the worst defenses that they ever had.

Then have him explain why our defense is not as dominant as in the past. What does he have against the strong defenses WOS was known far.

The Mustangs have had success running it. Itll be interesting to see if we can rely on Turners arm when the run isn't working. I believe he'll have to sling it against PNG. I don't think we're going to see the success on the ground we have the first two and PNG gon score. We won't stop them in our new, normal.
PNG won't shoot themselves in the foot the way LCM did.

I hope LCM does well this year. But as far as the coaching staff, Peevey and Breaux and staff have totally changed the culture for all LCM. I know their doing everything possible to win and develop great young men and women. There should be no complaints. It’s so much better now. 

WOS QB Turner looked really good to me. His passing has improved since last year. His running/athletic ability has always been there. He should have a good season and be able to continue to get better for his senior season next year.
RB, Amerson looked like a STUD tonight. Freshman RB Jefferson is going to dangerous his entire career, fun to watch with the ball in his hands.
WOS whipped LCM on both sides of the Line of Scrimmage tonight. 
Just my two cents from the game.
The Lines on the visitor side to get into the gate and at the concession stand were absolutely ridiculous. Fans were still getting into the game in the 2nd quarter. Concession Stand waits were over 30 minutes and they were out of a lot of items very early. WOS has to do better in this aspect of hosting games, LCM didn't bring a HUGE crowd just about average road crowd in the Peevey Era.
Robo is super loud on the mic but love him and his enthusiasm.

Why would you not play a talented team that is 10 minutes down the road?  That's how you get better.  Dropping this game would be an admission that LCM cannot compete and would be embarrassing.  I'm no LCM fan, but they competed with the Mustangs the last two years and should continue to.  Dodging them is a pitiful take on things.

Not uncommon. He has also loaded the players on a bus on Saturday morning after a Friday night game  to go support their band competition. 

Man I seen this morning and I might be behind on this.... peevy and the varsity players opening doors for kids at elementary... kudos. How cool.
