Congrats to both winners. They were very deserving. If the two winners read this thread, don't let stupid comments by grown men get you down. Some people can't keep their mouth shut

After Watching The Signing Day Videos And Watching Kids That I Met Through Football, Sitting In Pain, And Crying For Feeling Left Out, Or, Walked On To A Program That Did Not Think Enough Of Them To Put An Offer On The Table, I Must Say That I Am Humbled!!! I Have Learned The Most From My Son (Demarcus "Dee Block" Smith) Whom Is Not Mine By Blood But Simply By A Promise To Him At 6 Months Old To Father Him To The Best Of My Ability!!! He Said To Me Before Signing Day That Daddy I Am Tired Of The Fake Talk About What The Major Colleges Are Saying To Me About My Abilities Because That Says Nothing To Me Without Putting An Offer On The Table!!! He Is Intelligent Enough To Know That If They Truly Wanted Him They Would Have Found A Way To Make The Offer. Just As He Called It Quits On The Second And Final Part Of Our Camp Tour After Dominating At Texas, Baylor/HBU, Texas State, And North Texas Where All Coaches Raved About His Abilities And Got Contact Info But Offered Not!!! While I Will Always Believe In Demarcus's Ability To Play On The FBS Level I Think That God Has Placed Him With Coach Viator And The McNeese State Cowboys For A Reason!!! I Thank God For The Experience And I Am Humbled.  I Just Hope And Pray That All That Did Not Get a Full Ride To College Gets A Full Ride In Life Through Hard Work And Dedication To The Next Chapter In Your Young Lives!!! Sincerely, Mr. Davis

Simple. It's a point to show even DT at WOS is expected to put in work. I don't buy the notion Shaw was treated as some castoff or black swan. He didn't practice enough to satisfy coaches so he was removed

The bottom line is, he still gets to sign. We need to take emotion out of this. The lesson he will learn from this is his teammates & he are on different paths on Life. WeAll can't do everything together, that sounded good as little kids, but it's just not reality. Congrats to All of the signees. Be Thankful because I personally know a lot of kids that aren't signing anything. I'm sure if the opportunity arose, they could care less if they signed with the group; although I truly understand why this young man would want to be a part of the festivities. Hopefully no feelings will be too badly hurt & All involved can move forward

Obviously I don't know for certain, but he RUMOR was that young Mr. Shaw was no longer on the team, but not because of his bum ankle.

Give me a break.... who really believes that WOS is excluding a kid from the rest of the team's signing ceremony because he got hurt late in the season?

Hypothetically speaking, if a kid quits the team halfway through the season (or gets kicked off of the team) but still gets and offer, should he get to sign along with this former teammates?  That's a different question.

How do you know where any given player would or would not make a varsity? And unless I read him wrong I don't think #62jjohnson ever compared Kendrick King to Earl Thomas. He said that players from smaller classifications can succeed.

I never discounted what Smith did, not sure why you want to think that. I said he benefits from depth and an offensive line and a Division I caliber wide receiver. King did not. Opposing teams knew King was the entire offense and he still put up numbers. Not sure why folks have to trash a kid in order to put another one up.

This is my first year to vote. No guidelines were given to me as to how to vote. Just given a list of players and their stats which were nominated by their coaches, and then it is my personal vote using whatever criteria I feel necessary. I understand this to be the case for all who votes. Everyone that votes has their own way of voting.

I personally consider many things: stats, team success, character, etc. I even will give the nod to a senior over a junior, but that's just me.

You gotta take a few things into account Davis, 1. Demarcus was the feature back which means he got majority if not all the carries Dauphine wasn't. 2. Demarcus played with one of the best WR in the state which allowed WB's offense to spread the field better. Dauphine played in a offense where the defense knew either 1 or 2 players where getting the ball, so the defense could key in on those two.

Exactly. 4A and lower not only has RB's that rush for 1500+ yards, but those guys are usually their top tacklers on defense as well. More two way guys than at 6A-5A level.

    It's all relevant.

Now that I think about it, I'm not buying the "Gilmer played the worst half all season" statement. When a defense stops you on big 3rd downs and 4th downs, has plenty of pass breakups, smothers your run game, and gets after your QB, that's not a bad half for Gilmer, WOS just came out and played Chain Gang defense, credit the best defense you've seen all year. As for the second half, we made the mistakes (3 turnovers). Gilmer capitalized on every single mishap in that second half and thats what Championship teams do, but spoon fed point to the Buckeyes.

Some of yall are delusional! To say Gilmer should've hung 60 blah blah give me a break WOS punched them in the mouth the first half and Gilmer didn't know what hit them. Maybe that was the worst Gilmer has played all season but did yall watch the same second half as I did? BY FAR the worst second half the Stangs have played all season. I witness 2 evenly matched teams, tale of 2 halves, bounces did go WOS way, it happens. Gilmer is a heck of a team, but taking credit away from WOS and the team they had this year is asinine.

DT is a special player, he's the best player I've seen to maybe come thru WOS football program. (I'm a 80's baby so let me make that clear). I've had great pleasure to watch this kid since little league football , middle school, to high school become one of the best players in the country. Im saying this because I'm not a outsider looking in. I got to see daily whats most only seen on Friday Nights, Flim, & Hightlights. I was at every practice except 4 (The funny thing about this is that.,I missed 2 practices in a row late in the season, & the 3rd day I showed up. Coach T walk past me & said Kent i been checking role call the last 2 days & u was absent) So I've seen this kid practice where great players are made. He practice how he plays & it showed plus he never takes plays off & I'm talking bout practice! (in my Allen Iverson voice). But what most don't know he's a student of the game as well. Oneday in practice they was running goal line defense against the scout team. I seen where he made a adjustment by moving Tre Spencer from safety to CB & moving the CB to Saftey & then telling Spencer the route the receiver was about to run. The play was ran & it was the exact route DT told Spencer & Spencer broke the play up. So let me say this he's a 5Star Player for a reason. The skys the limit for this kid & behind it all he has great Family Support Behind him. Hes a better kid then football player his parents raised a great young man. I'm looking for this kid to be a impact @ Bama & playing on Sundays one day. The sky's the limit for this kid & he will rise to be a cream of the crop.

I was at the game with liltex and trocket. IMHO, WOS ran outta gas and heart after the turnovers. At that level, there is no room for error and Gilmer was what they advertised: a well coached and talented team.

Your mustangs played hard and very physical. In the end with the up tempo they ran out of gas. To be honest in the first half I thought y'all were gonna run us out the stadium. Unlike me sometimes, the kids never gave up, made some plays and came out on top. I hope everyone enjoyed the D1 talent that was all over the field on both teams. Buckeyes have some great players....but #6 DT was the best player on the field. Bama getting a good one.

Last thing. Some jerk on here called our coach a prick. Do you know.Jeff Traylor? Do you know what he does for our community. Do you know he is a home grown Gilmer native that cares about his players as much as he cares about his own kids? Do you know the pressure he puts upon himself to not let this town down. Do you know he buried one of our best players and took the burden of comforting the whole Buckeye Nation. Before you make a statement like that maybe you should look in the mirror and ask yourself what good you have done for someone lately. Peace my friends....its been good chatting with MOST of you.

Puting him on Giblin in the second half and then the pick in the endzone in OT to seal the win was the reason WOS beat PNG. Doubt he had 6,7 or 8 interceptions, but its because teams stayed away from him. But how many punt or ko returns did he take to the house and how many passes he catch? How many different ways did he take over a game?
