  1. I can tell you the Beaumont chapter is a joke. Go watch the lufkin chapter and compare the two. It's like night and day. WOS has had the refs in there pocket for years. Refs gave this game to WOS both radio announcers even commented they have never seen anything this bad.

In our pockets? Wow. This was the exact same crew they had at last year's game and all we heard was, "PNG was the better team. They beat WOS!" And this year the officials are in our pocket? Give me a break.
  2. That's a BIG BLOW for WOS! I think they will be ok until the playoffs! Something gotta give @ the QB for them tho! They have lost 2 QB's in the last month!

Oh no doubt it's a huge blow. However, this team is a lot more talented than people think. Things have gotten a little more tougher. I'll just say that I won't be surprised if they do exactly what they said they would do. That's make it to state.
  3. When it comes to DBs, I guess DT is always the safe pick because of his rankings and college commitment
He's a great player, no doubt, but he doesn't jump out as a '5 star' Alabama recruit to me when you watch him in a game
One thing he definitely has is projectability, but I guess just in my head when I think of 5 star recruit or Bama commit I think of someone that absolutely dominates a game
I thought Elijah Teel was MUCH more valuable to their defense last year, he was at LB so he got more chances, but I might just have a misconstrued image in my head

Great talent but I just don't see the game changing ability of a 5 star, at least not at this level YET

Your analysis is based solely on last year's performance. He co-led the team in interceptions his sophomore year. The same team that he was featured on defense along with 9 seniors. The same team that made it to the fourth round of the playoffs. Oh, and you forgot upside. Colleges recruit kids because of their upside. When you get a reputation as one of the best defenders in the country, most teams tend to direct plays away from you. He still led the team in interceptions. And he torched Orangefield on both sides of the ball...;-) ROLL TIDE!
  4. Yall are crazy Levine by far the best DB Allstate In 5a his sophomore yr his offers just not piled up because of his speed if he ran a 4.3 like the others easily D1 offers, then Seay from Nederland been Doing him for a long time then Thompson from WOS and last Locke.. These guys look good on paper because off there offers not taking anything away from there talent because they obviously have it, Levine and Seay just don't attend too many camps and have 4.3 speed..

    Who has 4.3 speed?
  5. That's easy to say that he's a 5 star player on a 4A level but move up in the ranks...

6A- Levine... Best of the best
4A- Seay and Locke Next to the best of the best

He's good, but it's too easy for him at that level try 6A and do that... Be like Levine average a hundred and something tackles a season and the most critical picks... Or like Seay in 4A bone crushing licks make anybody think before crossing paths even Locke "I can play on the D Line and be good"... That ranking system is not accuracy cause there players that don't get that exposure but they're five star players too

Easy to say he's a 5-star??? The last time I checked, there are 5-stars in all classifications. You mentioned that the rankings are not accurate. That's the opinion of all parents and kids who are not ranked. Deionte is 6'2, 180. I promise you he can go to any program in SETX and do what he has done ever since he was a sophomore. Obviously, Nick Saban doesn't care what classification he's in. Say it with me, ROLL TIDE!
  6. You missed my point. Every one plays off of wos They always did out of respect for the speed. I wanted to see WOS run some slants or square in's. Anything that requires timing and goes to the middle of the field. WOS very seldom throws the ball to the middle of the field. If you watch closely you will see that other teams give us everything between the hash marks because they KNOW wos doesnt throw there. a friend of mine told me that wos dosnt throw there because Thompson is afraid of turnovers. So most passes are short and outside or long and outside. That way you have the sideline to bail you out.

And obviously you missed my point. WOS has the most talented duo of receivers in SETX. Both had over 800 yards receiving last year. Granted, we don't have the same quarterback we had last year. You have to take advantage of the short passes if the other team is going to give it to you all night. It opens everything else up. Everyone knows that.
  7. WOS should win the district easily. Right now there are small problems on defense but those will be fixed as the season goes on. IMO the biggist issue WOS has is throwing the ball down field. In both scrimmages the majority of our passes go no further than five yards past the Los. Every now and then we throw a deep pass to Thompson. I was hoping to see both quarterbacks get a chance to show if they can make the throws.

One thing to pay attention to is how secondaries play our receivers. In both scrimmages they played about 6 to 7 yards off our receivers. It makes it a little difficult to go deep as much as we'd like to. I think moving forward, we need to develop that short passing game, because it will open up so much more for us.
