  1. I just got off the phone with my son. As of 11:00 this morning, Dillons locker is still in tack with his name and everything else as it always was. He was NOT at workouts today. Gary will find out for sure one way or the other and this can be put to rest.

All of that sounds good, and we wish he was staying. But trust me, he's gone.
  2. Lets not kid each other, the bottom line is this DOES hurt WOS on offense. We will see when the season begins to how much or even how long. The good news is they can begin to work with the new starter quarterback and let him start running the show. When you lose a talent like this student was it hurts, period. WOS will still play great defense but the offense might or might not have to be reworked around the new QD's strengths. IMHO

I don't think anyone is denying that it hurts. We're just pointing out that it may not hurt as bad as some think. It's very difficult to replace Dillon. We all agree. However, Chase has been playing with the current starters since they were in the 5th grade. They have a lot of history together. So we're not completely going to fall apart. They just have to find that chemistry again.
  3. Chester

I don't know how y'all do it in Chester, but at WOS, the goal is state. Yes, we've gotten to the regional finals the last 3 years and lost (twice to the eventual state champion). However, because we are WOS, state is always a part of our conversation. People can hate all they want. But I don't see another team on this site talking about state. They would rather hate on the WOS fans for talking about it.
  4. Please do. I've heard the same thing since 1988. I see no reason it will change. Mustangs will beat all the crappy setx teams; Carthage, Navasota, Gilmer, etc. are too much for the ole Stangs.

UGK, if you don't mind me asking, what team are you pulling for this year?
  5. Does Central have that many Division I players on their team or is it just the coach helping his kids or what.Summer Creek played them in the playoffs and I saw a few good players but not to the point of them having someone with 20 plus offers from BCS schools..That is crazy. Was the film on them that good

I think this is the problem. Your question should be, "Can anyone give me some advice on how I can get my kid some offers?" It's not about who is better than who. Or "My son's Sparq rating is higher than yours." What's important is that your kid gets offered. Showing us how much better he is than someone else won't help you. I'm just sayin.
  6. Wrong, they are completely segregated. They will not see each other in the playoffs or district. Exactly the same as 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A. It does not matter if you call it 4AD1, 4AD2, 4AD3, 3A, 20A, 50A. They are separate. In the former classification the two divisions were in the same districts and same playoffs relative to enrollment on any given year. Hence, WOS rotating from D1 or D2. They cannot rotate now as they are in a single classification (4AD2). Classification or division is merely a play on words. Football in 4AD2 is as separate from 4AD1 as 1A is from 6A.

Ummm. We're saying the same thing dude.
  7. It is worthy of note that WOS is nearly guaranteed to make it out of the region next year. My prediction is that WOS will enjoy a return to glory by dropping down a classification and playing smaller schools. WOS fans will then claim they would made it anyway even if the were in the old classification and dismiss the coincidence of dropping and finally winning the region.

Dropping classification? Not sure what you mean by that. There will be a division I 4A and a division II 4A. The only difference is WOS will play schools with equal enrollment no matter who finishes where in district. You may want to research that one. Last year WOS played in division I and held their own against schools with larger enrollment.
  8. VNUPE it was not personal but you posted that and you did not even recognize that we have a kid who is testing better than those kids that are getting recognition but somehow this kid gets over looked by the masses. Do not personalize it my friend I am just stating the facts brother. Numbers don't lie and the season want either. I can guarantee that!

I'm not taking it personal, my friend. However, you did attach my name to your post. Deionte Thompson is my son. AND I'M A PROUD FATHER AS WELL! I try not to highlight his accomplishments, because I don't have to. You want numbers? Deionte had 4 offers (Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor), last year BEFORE he went to his first Nike Training Camp. He has gone to 0 Sparq Camps, because he doesn't need to. Reporters and coaches come looking for him at these camps, not the other way around. When I say Sparq ratings don't matter, I know what I'm talking about. If you want to know how to do this, dm me and I'll show you.
  9. @VNUPE - I have been quiet about this because I did not want to sound bitter but this sounds like politics to me. Demarcus got approached by the running back Coach that led the backs that day and he asked son do you have any offers, and and D told him no. He told him that he would begin getting his name out there. These kids did well but the first name from Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, Vidor, Nederland, LCM, and all surrounding areas was Demarcus Smith. If you do not believe me here are the numbers.

40 20 KPB VJ Sparq Rating

    Demarcus Smith 4.64 4.02 34 33.7 97.41 Deionte Thompson 4.71 4.31 34.5 34.2 87.36
    Kameron Martin 4.59 4.43 35 30.3 82.68
    Sage Seay 4.85 4.35 34 27.8 76.23
    Corey Dauphine 4.75 4.38 32.5 28.8 74.67

These numbers are public domain at Student Sports.comThese kids made the top 100 ratings in Houston NFTC that day. LB/RB Drills are MIA! I watched very closely to see how my boy faired with the big linebackers. LETS JUST SAY I AM PROUD TO BE HIS FATHER!!! He threw them around like rag dolls! Hmmmmmmm all those kids have a chance but the highest score from our area don't!?!? Really?!?! Congrats to all the kids that are getting recognition right now!!! Demarcus will get his soon!!!

Not sure why this is directed towards me, but I could care less about a sparq rating. At the end of the day, recruiters want to see FILM. Ask anyone around Southeast Texas. When FILMS go out to colleges, recruiters will find you.I really hope your son gets what he's looking for, but it won't come from a sparq rating.
  10. Where are all the Tony Brown Hatters? A Beaumont kid that will more then likely be starting at Alabama this season as a FRESHMAN and just a few comments. If he would have gotten beat for a touch down on National TV, this Topic would have five pages of negative comments...SMH.....

You're absolutely right! I'm extremely excited to see Tony play this year! He has done an amazing job preparing for the next level.
